Pretty good TexMex and American comfort food. Friendly staff, interesting rodeo themed decor. We tried the chicken fried steak, the Philly cheesesteak and the lunchtime burrito special. All were delicious! We'll be back.....

In town for business and had to give a try. Great service, great atmosphere, great food! I had the fresh made steak fingers (these are hard to come by), mashed potatoes and corn. Delicious! The rolls are on point! If you are hungry for a good home cooked meal, this plan is a must.

Server She did not say her name. But, she was helpful with the WiFi. Our server seemed to be the only one without a name badge. After bringing the food, she poofed. Did not see her again. She finally returned. Ambiance This place is a hodge podge of tex-mex and American Food The chips n salsa arrived Pronto, and the chips were warm. The salsa tasted canned (tinny). The Pollo con Queso was served quite warm. It came with flour tortillas and a hot bed of seasoned Mexican rice. The chicken was very tender and the accompaning side order of grilled shrimp was very good. The Pollo Felix was "wonderful" The beans tasted homemade and fresh. Overall Most of the servers smiled as they walked by our table. The food is quite good. But, sadly the downside is the servers. I get the place is busy. But, dang... Military They do not have a Military discount, but they claim that there is a senor discount.

I'm not sure how some other rate this any less than 5 stars. Food was amazing, the service was timely and attentive. The owner stopped by many time to see how things were. I was driving through for work and caught this restaurant out of the corner of my eye, glad I stopped and got to enjoy it.

This ain't no goat roping. This is an authentic Mexican restaurant that leans more towards the Tex-Mex than traditional Mexican food. If you are not into the new American food, then for you, they offer old time rural ethnic diner food, like hamburgers, chicken fried steak, okra, and chicken strips. Mexican food is the new American food. Mexican restaurants are multiplying like the late summer web worms in the August trees of Oklahoma. If you don't like Mexican food and you are traveling across rural Oklahoma, you will starve if you don't have a granola bar and a banana in your glove box. In some small towns your only other option is a blistered wiener off the roller grill at the gas station. Mexican food everywhere is the new normal. For sure in Oklahoma, diner food is becoming history. Just a memory like the recipes found in the old Southern Living cook book your grandma had. What is really strange about The Rodeo's set up is that it is like a small-town road side diner, not a Mexican joint. The rural theme is rodeo, as the name implies. Memorabilia, shiny barn tin covered walls, trimmed with patriotic red white and blue fans all around, emphasize that theme. The TV has bull riding and roping playing continuously. It doesn't stop there. The service matches the old school diner motif, with prompt friendly attention from waitresses, that are all probably named Flo. If your name is not "sugar" it will be here. Your check is hand written and you pay up front on the way out. Don't forget to put a tooth pick in your mouth before you walk out the door, or you will look like a tourist. The strange part, this is a Mexican food restaurant, that also puts out large plates of equally delicious diner food. Perfect salsa, crispy chips and a spot-on salsa picante (ask for it) kept our hands and mouths busy while studying the menu. My wife can't pass up an Indian taco. That is what she had. Excellent, but Mexican food for me. The # 2, a beef taco. a cheese filled relleno and a beef enchilada with red sauce. The meal was plenty of food but, it did not come with beans and rice. I ordered a side of beans to fully evaluate the kitchen staff's expertise. All perfect. The picture describes the food better than I can with words. Talking with the owner while settling up the bill, I was curious how they could do such a good job with the two styles of food offered on the large menu. She informed me that there were actually two kitchens in the restaurant. A necessity. The superb experienced cook, running the Mexican side of the restaurant is, well let me explain it this way, "this ain't his first Rodeo." This is the best restaurant in Okmulgee period ...prove me wrong.

The first time i purchased Mexican, a Polo con-queso. Literally chicken with no flavor with a slightly spicy cheese poured over top. rice and beans that was inedible. While there the people next to me ordered steak, and man it looked good. And i love steak (If you follow my belly rubs you would have already known that). So, this time I ordered a Rib-Eye steak (Medium), Loaded baked potato and a salad. The only thing that was even close to decent on this meal was the salad! (It is rated as an appetizer above). I get the steak and the potato and man it looks good. I mean right out of a magazine good! I cut into it, and it is well done! (So well done that when I was done consuming what i could, there was very little juices at all on the plate). The flavor of the steak, what little there was had the freezer burnt flavor of meat. There was no salt or pepper used at all during the cooking process. The Potato was a warm raw potato with the fixings on it. Looked good, literally could only smash parts of it. Oh well. Then my waitress plaid peekaboo with me for the next 15 minutes! never saw her again until she came out with the check. One of the worse $40 meals I have ever eaten or tried to consume. Stick a fork in it. It's done! It's Toast, Fat boy has sadly left the building and will not be back. Without Equal in Quality, Convenience and Service! Authentic comfort food. The (Chicken-Fried) Steak is as advertised. The food arrived to the table by food runners hot and tasty. The advertised steak covers the plate to the edges as pictured, in Facebook advertisement. And, every bite to the edge is tenderized and double battered to crisp elation. I recommend highly, because it is closer than The Country Cafe (Red Cabin limited days/hours) in Enterprise, (South Central) Oklahoma

I normally treat myself to a late breakfast or an early lunch, something those hip young people refer to as brunch, after a successful morning of court. Located on the west side of I-75, hard to miss. The building doesn't look in the best shape, interior could use some work too but that's part of the charm. The place is clean, with not much decorations. The menu and tables are plastered with local advertisements. They offer everything from your typical breakfast staples, to sandwiches, steaks and weekly comforting specials. My typical order is the ham steak breakfast. $13.99 gets you a meal that leaves you full for the next day and half. They give you a slice of ham, topped with a grilled pineapple, that takes up a whole plate by itself. Eggs cooked to order and the compliments of your choosing whether it be grits (my personal favorite), pancake, or homemade biscuit and gravy (also good, but easily makes this meal cross the line of excessive) and toast or an english muffin. The eggs are really cooked to order and in butter. Never had a bad experience there. Staff is friendly. Probably the only restaurant I know in existence that still has a smoking section, that seems as big or bigger than the non-smoking area.

Ive seen this place plenty of times driving into town but had never eaten there. The two guys I was with are regulars and you could tell by how we were greeted at the door. As an aside, I think this must be one of the only places left in the state that still has a smoking section. Anyway we were greeted and sat down and somebody came right over and took our drink orders. So far so good. Girl came back and took our orders. One guy got an omelet, the other just some bacon and scrambled eggs. One of the specials was a breakfast ribeye so I opted for that. Big mistake on my part. Ordered the steak, medium, the eggs over medium, and tomato slices instead of hashbrowns. Food comes out and the other guys stuff looks good. Mine looks like a wreck. The "steak" was just a piece of grey meat with no fat, it looked like a boiled piece of chuck. Grey color all the way thru. Definitely NOT medium. The eggs were extra runny, definitely not over medium. Even the tomato slices were a disappointment. They used cheap Roma tomatoes. Literally just down the street, there is a farmers market with folks selling beautiful garden ripe tomatoes and they served tasteless Roma tomatoes. My food was a complete wash. Can't recommend this place at all. Service was good, food was horrible.

Brisket Pulled Pork Smoked Turkey Pork Ribs Hot Links and finally... Smoked Baloney. Potato Salad, White Mac and Cheese, Texas Toast, Pickle and Onion. Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good. Don't keep whistling down the highway at 80+MPH trying to get somewhere faster than you should. Slow down, stop in, and get some well made BBQ. Sure, you're going to have the "meat sweats" once you've had your fill, but it's all well worth it in the end.

They are known for offering gluten-free food but I am not sure if their whole menu is gluten-free. This was a perfect opportunity to try it out since it was a week day. We arrived for an early dinner so it was not busy at all. It was really quiet inside since it wasn't busy but I can only imagine how fun it is during their busy times. They are not open Saturday and Sunday. It is a small location but easy to find. As we stepped inside we were a little lost as to what to do first, wait for a hostess, find a table and wait to order or walk up to the small counter area to order. My husband asked and we were instructed to order then find a table to sit. I love a good Chicken Fried Steak so I already knew what I was going to order. It came with mashed potatoes and of course, gravy, plus a roll. It would be nice if another veggie was offered to off-set a carb heavy meal. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and roll. He later noticed a very tiny sign next to the register advertising pot roast and was a little disappointed he didn't see that first. Pot roast is his favorite. For dessert, he thought he saw coconut creme pie in the cooler but it was lemon meringue which he is not a fan. He settled on the pecan pie cheesecake that we shared. It was a surprisingly great pie. All of our food was great and exceeded our expectations. We would like to come back again so he can try the pot roast and I will order the CFS again. This restaurant definitely has a small town feel where they know their regulars by name. I would recommend it to friends and family.
