Fried rice with beef and shrimp

I haven't been in two years. I've never updated a review. But I see that they've moved up in the world and have a building now which is great! It was clean but nothing that wowed me. The fried rice was good and so was the yum yum sauce but that's where I draw the line. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak rolls and it tasted like mush. I was completely turned off by it that I didn't finish it. I also ordered my family food and fried rice with chicken and shrimp. The yum yum sauce was good but unfortunately the quality of the chicken was bad. I was also very confused, if I was getting chicken or beef because some of the pieces looked discolored. I just ended up throwing it away. It's been two years since I've been to The Roll Up and it will be another two years if not longer. Just a waste.

Yes, yes, yes!!! If you're debating giving this place a try, do it! I came across them on FB and after months of seeing their picture pop up places, we finally gave them a shot and Wow, they didn't disappoint at all! We tried the Buffalo & Philly egg rolls, chicken and fried rice, beef over fries, and the cheesecake dessert egg rolls. Everything was killer! The egg rolls and sauces were really good. The fries and beef, oh my goodness. I will start salivating thinking about it again!! Add the extra yum yum sauce, it is delicious! The chicken and fried rice were really good too! I was stuffed and could barely move but you know there's always room for dessert! The cheesecake eggrolls were so warm and just smell in your mouth. I'm so glad we got these to try. I may need to come back and get another order within the next few days.

Ordered to take out due to how hot it was inside the restaurant. Lots of unique rolls, we tried almost all of them, the rolls were a little too rich for me but my son really liked them! All the rolls were heavily flavored, made to order. Friendly staff. Shrimp fried rice was really tasty.

3.5 Stars Really. It's an interesting concept to try, but perhaps my expectations were too high, it was kind of a let down. It wasn't that the food was bad. But it just wasn't something I'd call a friend over about, you know. Ambience: Nice clean and spacious place. Pop music video on the background. Service was good. Looks like they make it to order. Though the Rolls seemed to be pre wrapped and then fried. Food Rating: The flavors of the Rolls didn't really come through as per their names. The yumyum sauce is usually lathered on each item. I got mine on the side. The sauce makes it better. But my ratings are based without the sauce: Philly Cheesesteak Roll - 7/10 This was the better roll. It definitely doesn't taste like "philly" cheesesteak, but its a good beef and cheese roll in its own manner. Buffalo Chicken Roll - 6/10 - Honestly the fillings and chicken were really mushy and didn't taste too good. I think shredding the chickens in thicker pieces or dicing it would be better. Otherwise, it tasted like mashed chicken and cream cheese (I almost thought I got the crab rangoon). Chicken Fried Rice - 7/10 Pretty decent fried rice. I didn't expect a gourmet asian style fried rice and so it did its job. But nothing to wow about. Loaded Fries with Beef - 6.5/10 The fries by themselves were delicious, wonderfully crispy and soft. The beef however did not really compliment it. It was too sweet. Spicy YumYum Sauce: 10/10 - This was so good! It actually had a lil kick to it, unlike "American" definition of spicy.

I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp fried rice and 4 piece Pork egg roll. Fried rice was good I devoured the rice. The egg rolls I'm not sure if I ordered the right ones or if they cooked the right ones. Or maybe that's the kind they "roll". The pork egg rolls reminded me of eating a tamale or chimichanga taco egg roll. Recipe changed or maybe it changed for me. The same owners or different? I was looking for the desert egg rolls but prolly out of season. 4 stars for the rice.

My friend, who DoorDashes, told me about this new place called Joy by Thai Thai she said it smelled amazing every time she picked up an order. So I decided to give it a try, and OOOOHHH MYYYYY WOOOOWZERS!!! I'm so glad I did! I'd been craving curry and hoping they had something good but what I got was way beyond what I was expecting. I ordered the Panang Curry with Tofu and Jasmine Rice, and the flavor absolutely blew me away. Perfect balance of spice, creaminess, and depth pure comfort and joy in every bite. The service was incredible, too. The gentleman who helped us was kind and welcoming, full of good energy. And the owner was making a drink that caught my eye she ended up making one for my friend and I. It's called (for now) the Queen B or something with Butterfly in the name a beautiful purple drink that tasted amazing. One sip and my eyes literally widened it was that good! My friend (who isn't usually into Thai food) ordered a chicken and fried rice dish and loved it too. I tried a bite and yep full of flavor! They've only been open about seven weeks, and they absolutely deserve more attention. Everything, the food, the service, the energy was filled with warmth and joy. So if you're in the area, go check out Joy by Thai Thai! Ask for the Queen Bee drink and try their Panang Curry trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

First time trying this special food truck…read more What a menu! The menu is partially Filipino. I am 100% Filipino so I for the first visit I opted for quintessential Filipino Choices! I opted for the Pancit Palabok and the Taho. The pancit was super authentic. Flavors were on point. The thicker rice noodles were also a pro-choice. Portions are perfect. They did not scrimp on the sauce nor the toppings. What would have made this an A+ bowl of pancit is instead of lemon wedges, clamansi and fish sauce would have pushed this bowl to another level. It's probably too much of an ask since calamansi are not readily available in Texas, lol. My second item was the taho. A tofu dessert served served in a glass/cup in a vanilla brown sugar syrup along with tapioca balls. FYI this dessert is served warm. I look forward to my next visit. If I can resist my craving for Filipino food, I may go for more of the massive menu

One of the lookers he was using to keep his door open got out closing the door and we saw this my children and I and tried to help. He sees us and snaps asking "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY TRUCK!!!" I politely answered the cooler removed and we were trying to out it back, didn't say anything. My husband bought lumpia's from here which you can taste the oil was old it actually gave me a stomach ache as well as made my husbands stomach turn. He then overcharged us for the jarrito $4 for a small bottle when the other truck charged us $2 for a bigger bottle. Whatever I thought we're here to support. But not once did he try to check us out or get to know us like all the other vendors did. Mind you we were a small table selling watermelon drinks and fried balls. My 12 year old son took a customer from the line which he figured was standing there for a while and they purchased. The truck owner got furious and asked my son where was I to speak about "boundaries" my son got me and he mentioned how my 12 year old son was stealing his customers and he respects the hustle but there's boundaries. He went on by saying how the last event he got his tires slashed because it got so competitive and no worries we're kool. That left a nasty taste in my mouth this was for the kids to sell, we don't sell the same thing and we were just a table while he's a good truck who's inquiring on getting another truck. We just trying to start up with our dream he's living it and he could not show an ounce of support. I'm not sure how's he still in business, it's disgusting!!!
