They're a build-your-own style of restaurant, kinda like a Chipotle, CAVA or Qdoba restaurant. Since it was my first time trying their menu, it took me a bit of time to figure out what I wanted. Miso Pick&Mix (interesting name choice) is a fast casual Japanese/Korean restaurant with build-your-own miso bowls, Korean fried chicken, and a variety of appetizers. I got the miso bowl with half rice and half glass noodles, Korean popcorn chicken, tons of vegetables, and teriyaki sauce. My friend got the miso bowl with glass noodles and crab, which was, much to our disappointment, just unseasoned artificial crab. I thought the noodles were good, but they were coated in sauce too heavily. My friend wishes she had gotten the rice instead, and I would have preferred to only get rice to balance the flavours out because the vegetables were all coated in sauce too. The sauce was really salty, but there wasn't much flavour to it. I did still enjoy my meal. The chicken was really soft and didn't taste like popcorn chicken at all. The flavour tasted like Mandarin chicken that you can buy frozen. I would probably get the beef bulgogi next time. I liked the vegetables a lot. The portion was large, and I had a little left over, but $16.24 felt pricey for fast casual food. The restaurant has so many tables, but it was quite empty even during dinner time. There were was an abundance of factors going well for this new restaurant opened only three weeks ago. First off the quantity of food was astounding. It was fresh and filling. They gave ample amounts of serving and I could only finish half the my meal. The owner was coming around and greeting all the customers and she took the time to get to know us. There is ample seating available to dine in and it was clean. Ordering food is set up similar to Subway, Chipotle, etc. Staff is friendly and efficient but they seemed rushed and understaffed. Tofu and spicy pork are tasty. I wish there was a sesame sauce as an option. The fried shrimp was way over dressed with mayo-recommend ordering with sauce on the side. terrible-I asked about gluten free and the girl said: we're not really gluten free friendly-but you can have a pick and roll which was supposed to have tuna and veggies, not really two tomato pieces one Tina sliver of cucumber and I could not see or taste any tuna! Then as I was checking out she informs me I could have had a bowl with rice and tuna and veggies! REALLY- I asked what I could have and you said NOTHING BUT THAT PATHETIC ROLL! Wow! I really don't know where to start with this review. We have been multiple times and it has not disappointed yet! The food is always fresh and delicious, it is always clean, plenty of seating space, the staff is attentive and friendly. The owner is there a lot and will greet customers and hold conversations. We think this place is pretty good. It's pricy a tad, but the food was fresh and flavors good. It was clean and had a good amount of options. I tried a fried shrimp bowl with half rice half noodles and it was a lot of food and really good. The child got the shrimp as well and loved it. The breading was really good. It's definitely unique and a nice change from chipotle/freebirds. (Being able to customize your ingredients). Definitely vegetarian friendly, and the bulgogi I got wasn't that great. Miso Pick & Mix just opened this week in Temple so I had to go try it out. My wife and I were immediately greeted as soon as we walked through the door. The young lady behind the counter was so polite and recognized us from another restaurant. When we told her it was our first time eating here she took the time to explain their food options. FYI the menu does not show tofu as a protein base for a miso bowl but it is an option. We both decided to get miso bowls and an order of fried shrimp. They have several drink options and I decided to get a beer. The food was delicious and you can tell it's fresh. The tofu was cooked to perfection but I wish I had added additional sauce on top of it. My Wife is vegan, and the bowl was vegan approved! Everything is made "lifestyle" friendly and the customer service was kind and respectful when answering questions she had. Overall, we will definitely be back again! Great atmosphere, clean, and several TVs that you can watch as well. I'm happy to see Temple/Belton is getting more healthier food options. read more

Mehhhh! I've had worse but I've definitely had better. The bbq tofu was greasy and lacking flavor, though the tofu was cooked perfectly. The bulgogi fries were a disappointment, the meat to fry ratio for $10 was severely lacking. The Tx Bites were different, I'm not sure what to think. I believe it had salmon & cream cheese inside basically a deep fried sushi roll. I'll give them more time to work out the kinks and give them another try in a few weeks, or not! read more

So excited to see Miso Pick&Mix finally open and some how avoid all the tornado damage everywhere around this property... We ordered two apps (Tako Yaki + Bulgogi Fries) and two miso bowls (glass noodle w spicy pork + spring greens w chicken) . All food was really tasty and the bowl portions/quality were aligned with the $15 price point. This was too much much food but we wanted to sample the menu. Would love to see a $15 appetizer sampler on the menu!! Spicy pork was our favored protein from the three we tried, Bulgogi a very close second. The business was only open four days but there were no kinks as you would expect when a business is just opening. Service was solid and very friendly. It's an order your food and sit down joint, so very casual. Bowls are made as you work through the line, apps are ordered at checkout and delivered to your table. Miso also has TVs with sports programming so it fits with the wings, Bulgogi fries, and beer vibe. The ambiance was casual and open. I did not bring my phone so will add pictures after the next visit (which will be soon!). 9 out of 10 but rounded up to five stars. read more
