RELENTLESS: This is the word that I was called when I inquired about my tag and registration that I paid for. So I saw a 2015 Nissan Sentra for sale with The Ronning Company. I called Dirk that afternoon and confirmed it was still there before driving over from Daytona Beach to Longwood to see the car. Dirk the owner confirmed car was still available so I drove over. Met Dirk upon my arrival at dealership. Dirk told me to drive the car which I did do around a few streets from the dealership. Car seemed fine. Made the sale and left the car to come back later as I couldn't drive two cars. My cousins went and got the car the next day for me and paid the additional $60.00 for my tag as my birthday was approaching and my transferred tag was up for renewal. Less than two weeks later as I was driving the car home it cut off on me while driving across the railroad tracks. I pulled over to a side street and sat there a few moments and then started the car and drive it home. Took it to a garage that services Nissan cars. I was told by the owner of the garage that it was a transmission issue and since she doesn't work on transmissions she recommended Stan's Transmission. Took it to to Stan's Transmission and was told the transmission needed to be replaced as it was no good. Stan's Transmission wanted $5600.00 SIDE NOTE: You cannot get a rebuilt transmission for this car and you can only get it from Nissan. Called Dirk at The Ronning Company to advise him about the car. Dirk was giving me all types of excuses about the situation and the car and DID NOT offer in any way to help me in this situation except for telling me to call Nissan and see if there was a recall on the transmission but DON"T tell Nissan the car has a rebuild title. I did call Nissan about the transmission but they could not help me either and then when the lady said give me you VIN NUMBER it came back REBUILT TITLE which would have VOIDED it anyway. Took it to another place to get a second opinion. The guy Steve told me the same thing that the transmission was no good and needed to be replaced. Steve asked me did you contact the guy who sold you the car? I said I did but he was unwilling to do anything for me with this car and transmission. Steve then decided to do the new transmission for me for $4044.00 which was a savings of $1556.00 from Stan's Transmission price. Steve said he felt really bad for me and what I had experienced so far with this car purchase. I really appreciated Steve for what he did for me. Car has now been fixed with a brand new transmission and drives great. I finally got my tag from The Ronning Company yesterday. I would just like to say in the end that The Ronning Company and Dirk the owner are NOT a good place to get a car from. This car buying experience was not good at all for me. I felt like The Ronning Company and Dirk the owner took advantage of me and as I have read the review of other buyers he has done this to others as well. He should NOT be in business..He does not care about selling you junk and taking your money and using SOLD AS IS once this cars issues are discussed as I;m sure he already knows are there but doesn't tell you when you ask him about issues. Purchased a 2006 Nissan Altima from them 3 months ago and the odometer read 150,000 miles. carfax is stating that that can't be true bec prior to me purchasing the car the odometer read 204,000! There was an issue with the speedometer, but I agreed to fixing that since there "was no other problems" and the check engine light was off.... Well the light was off because they cleared the code (look at other reviews, this is a common practice with these crooks). I took the car to my mechanic and he found that not only is the transmission leaking bad through a bearing and needs to be opened up and repaired ($2k plus) but also about 9 other codes kicked out including a bad ECM and misc other items that make the repair bill close to $4k... This is more than what the car costs! I called Todd and he blew me off completely, and refused to answer my calls or texts. Also, he never sent me my tag or the title and it's been almost a month. The car was in great condition, never been in an accident, low milage and was within budget. we got there and the car had been hit. Huge dent from the drivers door back to the bumper. they "didn't feel the need to tell us there was something wrong because we were coming down anyway." tried to get us to buy a 210,000 mile fleet car with a broken trunk for the same price. we turned them down and ended up with a 2006 Trailblazer that had low mileage "nothing wrong with it" except cosmetic damage. it also took them almost 2 months to put the car in my name and towards the end of the second month they stopped taking my calls. less than a year later the Trailblazer with "nothing wrong with it except cosmetic damage" has had 5,000 dollars worth of repairs and is traded in. read more

I bought a car from this dealership and couldn't be happier. I found the exact car I wanted at the price I wanted. A 2005 S-Type 4.2. I stopped by and test drive the vehicle... twice and left a deposit. Upon arrival the day I bought the vehicle, it was out front and already had the temporary tag on it. Paid and went to leave.... the e.brake was stuck on. After a quick google search, it was suggested that you disconnect the battery and reconnect to reset the e-brake system. It was also a sign the battery may be weak. We reset the car by disconnecting the battery and I was off. Traveled a mile down the road and filled the tank. When I tried to start it.... nothing. They apologized and came out and replaced the battery for me at no charge. Great people and they stand behind their products. I would buy again. Great people, great service. read more

I recently bought a Volvo station wagon from The Ronning Company. you could tell that it was very well taken care of. I was a little skeptical of the mileage (280,000) but this $2400 car has been the best cheap car that I have ever had. Sure i did some maintenance on it but you don't buy a car for $2400 and expect to take it on a long trip without checking it out first. This Volvo runs awesome, good tires and brakes, the engine and transmission were great. These guys are honest and they don't try to hide or sell you on anything. Not every car is a good fit for everybody but if you need a cheap vehicle that runs and drives, check them out and you will most likely find what you are looking for. I purchased a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire on November 19, 2018. I was not able to see the vehicle in person as I live out of state. I spoke to Dirk Ronning and he said this is a very good vehicle. May need one rear shock. I wired the full price to him and he arranged delivery to me, at my expense. I had agreed to pay the shipping cost. The car was delivered to me at 5 am on Thanksgiving morning. I drove the car about a mile and could tell that there are major suspension problems. It felt like the entire undercarriage was loose from the frame. I took the car to the local Chrysler dealer for an assessment of the problems. Oh my gosh. The entire front suspension is worn out and must be replaced. The back tires are shot. The back shocks are bad. The engine has severe problems including power train control module and relay module. The power steering system is bad. The check engine light will not go off as there are many problems that must be corrected. The total amount to repair the vehicle is $8,323.19. The dealer stated that this vehicle is in no condition to be driven on public streets. He said if it was an insurance claim, the insurance company would consider the vehicle a total loss. The $8,323 is more than the total value of the car!!!! I called Dirk Ronning on December 11, 2018. I explained that the vehicle was misrepresented to me when I talked to him before the purchase. He got angry and said he will not do anything to help remedy my situation. He told me that there is nothing that I can do. I asked for his attorneys name and he hung up on me. Buyers beware. Todd lied and deceived us about a Volkswagen Beetle we bought last week. "This car is perfect" he kept saying. Todd kept making demeaning statements to my boyfriend because he couldn't turn the ignition over. Todd would turn it over with minimum effort, and look at my boyfriend like he's incompetent. Now, the car is sitting in my driveway now and I will have to have it towed just to get it to a shop to have someone look at the ignition because it won't turn over at all now. Also, the latch on hood was broken, and Todd's brother "fixed" it, at least that's what they called "fixed." Hood won't close all the way and hood sits crooked. VERY DISHONEST PEOPLE. I went to this place to inquire about a red pt cruiser that I had already discussed with one of the brothers over the phone. Once there he let me and my father test drive the vehicle. We approved and as we went to sign the papers my father needed to go get the money from the ATM he let me know that he let me test drive the wrong car and it was actually a different pt cruiser. He insisted is signed the papers to the other pt cruiser before my my father could get back but I waited. Being reluctant my father test drove the car and purchased it for 2000 dollars. The car was undrivable two days later and I needed to put 1800 dollars worth of work into it. Do not trust these guys. read more

I narrowed my search down to a vehicle that was offered by the Ronning Company. Because of a busy work schedule and living out of state I was unable to drive down to see the car in person. Dirk Ronning and his brother own the company. I realized this was a big gamble but I tried to do the best due diligence I possibly could. I know my way around vehicles and have a pretty good idea what to look for. I did have Dirk take extra pictures and take a videos of the vehicle inside and out and also of it running. He did list issues with the vehicle and here they are as follows: * Small oil leak around turbo (he sent pictures) * Touch upped scratch on Rt side * Brake Calipers were painted and not actually upgraded * Small amount of smoke from exhaust (Sent video) I did ask for a Carfax report but he refused. I purchased my own and there was a minor accident at one point but again, I had no issue with that. Moving forward to the vehicle being delivered,I immediately took the car around the block in my neighborhood(4 blocks to be exact). Back at the house smoke was coming out of the hood and the exhaust was smoking more than what the video showed. The smoke out of the hood I presumed was from the oil leak by the turbo but indicated a much larger flow than I had anticipated. I grabbed my son to take the car to my wife at work to show her. It was a warm day so I rolled down the windows and tried to open the sunroof. After a while I figured you had to put your hand on the glass and help push it back while pressing the switch. In my opinion that is an inoperable sunroof. This was not disclosed. So, I pulled out of the neighborhood and the car died. It wouldn't turn over or anything. At this point, I had driven a total of 1.7 miles before it died. From the oil leak it had deteriorated the serpentine belt and caused it to snap. The repair bill to fix the leak, belt and repair damaged timing cover it was $533.54. Once the repair was done and they were able to start the car they found the alternator was bad. Here is where I have my issue. When an alternator goes out you know it. There is no denying it or hiding it. Your car will not run with a bad one. You can charge the battery and get it to run for a very short period of time but this method will also kill cells in the battery. This was not disclosed to me. To replace an alternator in the Mini is unlike most any car. For access you have to remove the bumper, remove the radiator and intercooler (or loosen and replace with very long bolts and slide the whole assembly back). Take this to BMW and you can get a $1400 repair bill or more. The correct part alone is $550. Mini is very picky about the right alternator going into the vehicle. As you can imagine the phone call To Dirk Ronning went just as expected. His favorite sayings in my opinion are " I can't see through metal" and "Cars are sold as is where is". I heard these phrases multiple times during our conversations. There is a difference in selling a car as-is but not disclosing defects can be considered fraud in a court of law. During this after delivery conversation all I asked was help with covering the cost of the alternator. I didn't ask for the full cost and didn't ask for any money to cover the oil leak or sunroof issues. This request was denied. In my opinion, doing the right thing is not part of the Ronning Company's business model. I must also note Dirk Ronning also said "The car started up every time and ran just fine while it was here". I had to correct him on that because on the phone with me he went to start the car and it wouldn't start. He had to use a jump box to start it. i would steer anyone away from this! they sold me a car that little over a week the transmission is shot!! i had it checked out by a mecanic but because the codes were cleared before and no check engine light was on the mecanic didn't see the problem until my daughter got in it to drive it and the check light came on and the car wouldnt excelerate. they knew this car was for my daughter and i needed dependable transportion for her. now i'm out $3500 and my daughter has no car. when i addressed it with them i was told i'm on my own and because i paid to have it checked out its on me. i'm not paying $3000 to $4000 in repairs! read more

The two brother's pick up cheap and no good cars from auctions and without working on them will sell you damaged goods. High mileage does not corresponds to poorly kept unsafe care. I had a very different experience compared to the reviews I read. After being widowed at 30 my 3 preschoolers and I needed to get rid of my husband's car (& the $400/mo payment) but still had to have a safe vehicle. I found a Volvo SUV on the internet which turned out to be at the Ronning brother's lot. When I arrived there they were very honest with me that the car wasn't in great condition and allowed me to take it off the lot to be checked by a mechanic of my choosing. No, it was not in perfect condition, but it was a SUV that listed for twice the amount that I paid for it, if you want to buy a "luxury" vehicle for the price of a clunker expect there to be issues. After replacing the radiator and battery the car gave me two years without any other repairs before i sold it for a more environmentally friendly one. When buying a used vehicle be prepared to have it checked out, know somewhere you can have the diagnostics run, know what you're buying. I did not experience a 'good brother-bad brother' they were both very nice. They both went out of their way to pick me up from the dealership I dropped my late husband's car off at, dealt with me having to fight with the bank (as our moneys were still in both names and the bank wanted to speak to my husband... I told them to hire a psychic), and stayed into the evening to do the paperwork. I've often thought of obtaining another vehicle from this company because they are inexpensive and if you are prepared for the fact that you are buying a used car that will need some work for a great price then you really can find a diamond in the rough. read more

I bought out of state and had it shipped...Read all the reviews and have bought and sold many cars, business and personal...I never expect new when buying used, I know where the new cars and payments are located. Having said that, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I spoke with Dirk for two weeks about the Eldorado I did purchase, just wanted an HONEST appraisal of the vehicle. That didn't happen, the car was overstated, wasn't expecting perfection but a non working power antennae and a non working blower system and four bald tires when I was told it needed two tires. $400.00 later and not into the front end yet. asked him to make that part right, he told me it wasn't a $20,00.00 show car, told him I didn't pay for that, I paid for what you sold me. The antennae Dirk told me he missed because he didn't turn on the radio, I asked how do you check to make sure everything works in Florida if you don't turn the switch? The front end work it needed was on me, I didn't expect him to fix everything but I specifically asked at least 6 times to tell me exactly what works and doesn't. I even told Dirk I would be a repeat buyer, Florida cars go over big in Michigan. When his lips are movin get a runnin from The Ronning. Scammers doesn't begin to cover these people, they are absolute scum. I went there after seeing a decent car online for sale at their address. When I went they were very friendly and reassured me the car was mechanically sound. I was there with my two year old and my eight month old and let them know I needed a 'mom car' because I didn't like my husband's two door with getting two little ones in and out of car seats. So they knew a family would be driving around in this car. Not a month later my calipers lock up and very quickly start smoking, it smelled like the car was about to set on fire. I was stranded with my two little ones alone. Across the street was a target so I went there and bought 2 containers of WD-40 and used them to lubricate the calipers as much as I could. I lived about 5 miles away and luckily traffic was causing us to drive slow but as soon as I got home and parked, I could smell the burning calipers again. My husband is a mechanic so he was able to replace the parts easily but once that happened, the air stopped blowing and soon after that the battery died. I should have looked up reviews before going to this place. If I could give them less than a star I would. It sickens me that they would sell a car in that condition, let alone knowing children would be in the back seat most of the time it would be driven. I don't understand how people like this are allowed to keep their business licenses. read more

these people are awful. all they did was lie to me. i bought a a 2005 Chrysler convertible from them april 20th 2015.... today is septemeber 9th 2015. i live about 20 mins or so away from them. by the time i got my car home it broke down 4 times and nearly made me cause 4 to 5 accidents from it randomly shutting of... i called the ronning comapny and they said all sales are final. i paid 2500 for a car i couldnt drive for 3 weeks till i paid $700 in repairs and it still barely runs. oh almost forgot... they took so long with my temp tag i had to return to the agency on the bus for a new temp plate. they let it expire before i got my real hard plate and it was already expired when i got it. had to pay the dmv 73 bucks for a renewal tag when i gave the ronning company over 2800 to complete everything for me. people have the nerve to recommend this place to others wtf?! i hope they get shut down. read more
