It's taken me awhile to get to writing this review - our roof was done in September/October timeframe of 2017. The quoting process was smooth enough and the quote was competitive so we wrote a deposit check and were told the roof install would happen the 2nd week of August. A couple weeks before they were supposed to come, my boyfriend checked in to confirm we were still on track for that week. They didn't know who he was (though they had communicated quite a bit) and once they figured it out, they said they were delayed 2 weeks. That process repeated itself several times (who is this? Oh 2 more weeks) until they finally showed up with 1 day notice in late September/early October. It caused a 2 month delay with the rest of our home remodeling while waiting for the roof to be done. We put a deposit down in June specifically to try to get it done as soon as possible in the summer. They ended up having to do quite a bit of sheeting on our house increasing the cost 20% and didn't communicate that until they sent us the final bill. It would have been nice to get a phone call within a day or so of finishing the job so we could budget for that additional cost. Overall: The work itself was done pretty well, the communication / customer service is more like a 0 star. We did talk to the guy about it, and he seemed to keep thinking we were saying the work was crap, even when we very clearly said the work was fine, it was the communication/customer service we had a problem with. He gave us a small discount which we finally just quit bothering w/ them as they don't seem to understand the customer element very well. read more

My parents had the best possible experience with the Roof Doctor because of their free estimates and excellent customer service. The Roof Doctor matched their quote with that of a competitor. Requested bids from quite a few roofing enterprises before selecting the Roof Doctor. The bids ranged from about $6k to $14k for a nominal 2,000 square foot ranch home. Roof Doctor came in at $11,500 but the final bill was $14k after adding tax plus $1k for some serious chimney repair and a bunch of new fan exhaust vents. I ended up selecting the Roof Doctor because I knew they were insured, they are kind of local, and my roof was in really bad shape and I didn't know what kind of surprises they were going to find once they started taking off the old shingles. A crew of eight showed up at 7:30AM in the morning. They were in 2 trucks. One for dumping the old shingles into and the other with all the stuff for putting on the new roof. Shingles were off by about 10:30. Crew foreman advised me of the ventilation and chimney issues and I approved the options he had advised. They had all the materials for dealing with all the options already in the truck so nobody had to go running for stuff they didn't have. The job was complete, including a thorough sweep and vacuuming of grounds adjacent to the house, by about 5:30PM. One caveat about the Roof Doctor though. They don't seem to be too up on the latest communications technologies. Their idea of modern communications is an answering machine along with a matching secretary sitting at a desk to take phone calls during business hours. I tried in vain to goad the sales guys into texting me or emailing me. They have a contact form on their web page and that's how I initially got hold of them to ask for a bid but the clerical didn't email me the information she called me. She would only use her email after I made it very clear that this is the form of communication I prefer. read more

Long wait time for job but once we got on schedule it all came together fast. In and out of job site quick and no messy leftovers. Problem with billing but they came right out to job site, checked it out and corrected invoice. read more

First appointment was cancelled 20 min before he was scheduled to come. Second appointment was booked we made 3 phone calls to the office after 1 1/2 hours after the appointment time, we where even given his cell phone number from the office no answer so we left a message. We have yet to get a phone call back from him. We will now be looking for some one reliable and who wants our business. read more

I'll start with Ken. I had three different roofing outfits give me bids. It's an older home and outbuilding. We needed a complete tear off, 4 layers and plywood both buildings and I wanted skylights! Even if Roof Dr. gave the highest bid, (which they didn't) I would've chose them still. Ken was very kind and very receptive to my ideas concerns. There were years of knowledge and experience behind his responses that definitely put me at ease. My husband and I both come from industrial backgrounds and know what hard labor is. When his crew showed up we were in awe of them. These were some of the hardest working guys we've ever seen. They worked together seamlessly. As hard as they worked they all had smiles and were so very kind. Astonishing how fast they worked. They knocked it out in 2 days! Got a quote of $9,800 so we thought that's a good deal and went ahead with using this company, while they pounded on my roof it caused some major damage in two of our back bedrooms it poked holes in one room and broke the ceiling fan in the other one,after that they apparently had to disconnect my furnace and kitchen fan to do the work but they left a huge mess in the house do to the fact they didn't tell me they were doing this so I had roof dabree all over my kitchen and furnace after all is said and done they tell me they are NOT responsible for the damage done and they charged me $14,900 that's $5,000 OVER what we were told there reason is for extra wood work that I did NOT sign off on I will NEVER use this company again!! read more

Over the years I have had several re-roof jobs done by the Dr. One had a couple of minor issues which were resolved within 2 days of calling. In fairness this roof job had lots of difficult spots to deal with. It was about 3000 square feet and it was done in one day! Dr. did a great job, customer service was exceptional and their speedy willingness to fix a mistake identified later speaks volumes about their commitment to customer service and delivering a quality product. Also, Dr. left the yard and driveway totally clean of nails, debris, wrapping, any evidence they were there. Gutters were spotless too! The other roofing jobs were equally satisfactory. read more

I purchased a 7,000 square foot industrial building to convert into my Home; The low-pitched roof had about 50 leaks in it. The Roof Doctor not only came in with the Best BID, but they showed up ON TIME, worked their asses off, and did the work better than expected! Their supervisor is a brilliant communicator. Their Crew is loyal, clean cut, and dependable. The owner is friendly, kind, and Honest. On the second phase (a year later) of my roof, a LEAK developed a month after they did the work. I called and left a message and THAT MORNING the original supervisor came out, found the issue and repaired it on the spot... a couple of hours worth of work: No charge! Put a new roof on a house that was known to have bats and failed to seal the ends of the ridge vents up. Now we have 2 bat colonies living in the ridge vents. All I asked for was them to make it right and remove the ridge vents extricate the bats and put the ridge vents back on and seal them. Tried to work with them but now my requests for info on a resolution go unanswered. So thus my my one star, if I could go negative stars I would. read more

Called to ask if The Roof Doctor would repair my roof. The person I spoke to said they would talk with the owner to schedule an appointment to look at the work needing to be done and call me back. No call back. I called back to ask if there was any progress on scheduling an appointment. Received an apology. Later in the day an appointment for the next day was scheduled. I was told after the owner had a look he would call me. Fine, I thought. All was well. A week went by. No call. I called back. Received an apology. The owner wasn't available. This was on a Friday before the Memorial Day weekend. But I was told he would surely call me back on Tuesday right after the holiday. That was okay. However, more than one week has passed since that Tuesday. No call. Today, I spoke with the tenant of my house and learned that The Roof Doctor never kept the appointment to look at the roof to see what repair was needed. Hmmm. I won't be doing business with The Roof Doctor. I would never recommend them. To the contrary, I would suggest you seek service elsewhere. I am confident that any other roofing company in Lewis Country is much better than The Roof Doctor. read more
