Cool view, just a little too dark and dirty for my likings.

Before my daughter's appointment nearby, we decided on Flippers Tavern for lunch…read more This place is quite different than many places in Lubbock, TX. When we walked in on May 19, 2026, the place was not too busy at around noon. Right away I noticed low lighting. Cool alternative, rock, and old R&B music playing in the background. A full bar. Pinball machines for tables. Lots of nostalgia in this place! Restroom was mostly clean. The food was okay. I wish there was a bit more flavor to everything. My daughter agreed. + The Damned Dog ($11) "All beef frank, house beef chili, cheddar, diced onions, and jalapeno crispies." This was good but the frank and chili needed more flavor. I opted for a side of house-made vegan potato salad (additional $1.50) instead of potato chips which really good. + The Sourpuss ($12) "Bratwurst, sauerkraut, pickle slice, crushed salt & vinegar chips, and queso fresco." My daughter enjoyed this with ketchup and mustard added and a side of smoked gouda mac. That mac was very tasty. We also noticed how crisp and spicy our Sprite and Dr. Peppers were. Loved that. I'd definitely go back again for a drink and maybe a sandwich next time. Ample lot parking.

Food was delicious. Our first time here. Potato salad is amazing . My margarita was on point!…read moreAtmosphere was good our waiter was good and nice. He did a great job

I feel like Bierhaus is a place worthy of two separate reviews, so I'm going to write it as such:…read more I. Bierhaus has the best burgers in Lubbock. I am not even going to front with you. Their buns have such a sweetness to them mixed with a sharp and well-cooked patty, American cheese (a must in a cheeseburger), and their haus sauce that is like a thousand island style sauce that all combines into a delight. It always has a hefty weight to it and a well balanced amount of tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. How do you explain the concept of a burger? It's really just something special. I like coming here for lunch. It's a bar at the end of the day, but their burgers are what make me want to come back. Many times in college, a friend would suggest Bierhaus, and I would tell them yes only if we got there before their kitchen closed because I needed a burger. They also give you a ton of fries. More fries than you'll ever need with a burger. That's awesome. Being in Texas, you see a lot of places offer a patty melt similar to the ones at Whataburger. A lot of places try to make a higher version dupe of a patty melt, and I think it always falls flat, but Bierhaus's does a pretty good job of being its own thing. Thank you for good food, Bierhaus. RIYL: Boorger II. Bierhaus is a great starter bar for a night out as a college kid in Lubbock. I don't think it's a place to end up if you're hitting multiple spots, but I find it endearing as a warm up spot or a one and done on a chill night. The two story indoor space can be loud, but there's a lot of booths for hanging around and chatting, with plenty of TVs. The outdoor patio has a different energy with swings, large tables, and a DJ. They always have a great selection of beers and good deals to go around. It was one of the few bars in Lubbock to offer cans of peebers (PBRs), which was always exciting for me. They also have their Capri Funs, which I always enjoy. Bierhaus is worth the party. RIYL: Brewskis

First time trying out walk on sports and it did not disappoint! From the service to the food, it…read morewas all phenomenal. We started out with the mozzarella logs and the devil's on horseback. 10 out of 10 on both. For the entrées, we ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos and the ribeye sliders. I couldn't believe how tender the ribeye was in the sliders. They were so good. For dessert we had the mini beignets and the bread pudding. I think the beignets were better than the ones from New Orleans. They were so soft and warm. Yum! My Husband compared the bread pudding to the one at the Dave Ramsey restaurant in Las Vegas. The ambience was cool of course. It's a sports bar so you hear everyone's excitement from football. Pretty cool location if you ask me. I highly recommend if you're in the area or live in Lubbock.

Five-Star Experience at Walk-On's in Lubbock!…read more I can't say enough great things about my visit to Walk-On's in Lubbock -- especially thanks to our incredible server, Alyssa! From the moment we sat down, she made the entire experience amazing. Alyssa was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely attentive without ever being overbearing. She knew the menu inside and out, offered fantastic recommendations and made sure everything came out fresh and perfectly timed. Even when the restaurant got busy, Alyssa kept her cool with a smile and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell she truly cares about her guests -- it's rare to find that kind of energy and professionalism all in one. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and thanks to Alyssa's outstanding service, it turned a casual night out into a memorable experience.

Had to get her attention to get our check, but they were also busy. It didn't take away from the experience. Food was great! Cheese sticks were excellent! I had wings and my son had a burger! It's blue (it does say welcome) but it looks like it is not a public entrance. We figured it out though. The indoor restaurant was very smoky so we sat on the patio, which was nice. Service was pretty good-we had to ask for a few things throughout our meal (a plate...) but everything was delivered quickly. The food was pretty good. My husband had a Philly Grinder with onion rings and both were very good. My daughter had a steak finger basket which I forgot to ask how she liked it however and ate it all so it must have been good. I had the BBQ chicken pizza. Now, the menu does say there would be jalapeños on it but holy cow-I think there were several sliced fresh jalapeños with seeds on the pizza. It was just too much-really not edible the way it was. After taking most off, the pizza was still very spicy. Otherwise, it was really good pizza-great crust, sauce, etc. and I would have enjoyed it. I just thought it was completely overpowering. Overall it was a decent experience and I would probably go there again if the weather was nice and could sit outside again. I'd even order the pizza, but no jalapeños!
