I had mixed feelings about my experience at The Room Organic Spa. The employees are very nice, sweet, and professional--they truly try their best and deserve credit for their service. Unfortunately, the owner's behavior really affected the overall experience. She often has an unpleasant attitude and comes across as rude and disrespectful, especially toward her own employees. I noticed the way she speaks to and treats them, and it felt uncomfortable and unacceptable. It's hard to enjoy a relaxing spa environment when there is visible tension and negativity. I genuinely feel bad for the staff, as they seem kind and hardworking but are not treated with the respect they deserve. With better management and a more positive attitude from the owner, this place could be much better!!! read more

I walked in and in the amount of time from calling to getting to the appointment was I think two hours and in that two hours the pain got worse the muscle spasm got worse. My friend and I visited The Room for the first time, after taking 20 minutes to find a good salon. We were fifteen minutes late (we went to the wrong place), but Lan and Git were SO sweet about it. We both got mani/pedis, and these two were so pleasant. Our nails looked great and Lan is an angel. She was wonderful to talk to, and then she literally put my socks and shoes on for me so I would not get my nails messed up. This lady was on her knees tying my shoes. I almost cried. Not So Organic. I decided to try out The Room Organic Spa because I was in the area and they had an available appointment. When I first walked in, I was shocked with how tiny the place was. Parking: You should get pretty lucky finding street parking around the neighborhood. They do not have a private lot available. The Room Organic Spa: It is very small inside and when I arrived in the early afternoon, it was pretty busy. It is your typical nail salon with chairs and tables in the front and what looks like a massage area in the back. Service: I came in for a mani/pedi and although my nail salon tech was very nice, It looked like the nail files she used on me were used. I am not sure if they were new or not since she got them directly from her kit but it was odd to me that they already looked used. I am a bit confused with where "Organic" is here because used not one Organic product on me. She did a great job with my mani/pedi but there was never an "Organic" experience whatsoever. Overall: I wasn't impressed enough to look for street parking and come back here. Maya was really nice and did a good job but there was no "Organic" experience at all which is really why I went there to begin with. I experienced a rather awkward pedicure. Upon arriving I was asked to pick a color so I did even though I was getting gel & wasn't offered it. I picked a color and asked if they had gel in that color.. the girl grabbed it out of my hand and walked away then came back & screamed across the room to make sure I had been charged the extra $23 for gel... She also said out loud "I have to see if I'll have time for that ." It's faster to do gel than regular polish btw.. I also was hoping to see if they had time for an additional service for a manicure but it seemed like an inconvenience for her. as the $65 pedicure continued I noticed she had cut my nails down very short and rounded them causing 2 nasty ingrown or mis-cut toenails leaving me with painful toes now. I tipped well but wish I didn't. If I could get my money back I absolutely would. The vibe overall wasn't it for me. I hope they can train employees to keep in mind this is a spa like experience and they should be licensed to properly perform a proper & safe pedicure. Always leave here feeling like my money and time was well spent. Love going to Gig for my nails, and Karli is great too (she did my nails in the pic). I only get my nails done here now because they last so long and grow a while without breaking. What I appreciate the most is they don't use the sanding tool to remove old gel which most places do and weakens & ruins my nails so much they break easily. They are very gentle with my nails and take their time, I never feel rushed. The nail length in my pic is almost 2 months grown out and still feels super sturdy because of the gentle care they use. I go here all the time and I left a review that was up from a few years ago, so I thought that I would just come back in to tell you that I really love this place! And I'm really excited that it's growing. I live right down the street from this place, and it feels like home. There always seems to be parking on the street all around, and everyone's wonderful. I first went here with my friend and her daughter because they only like organic nail polish. I thought it would be really pricey and it was very reasonable, even until now in the inflation. They also have tea, great customer service, and a card option. It is so well organized, and I'm not left sitting there wondering where the ATM is in the place for four extra dollars. I specifically want to shout out to Ru, a very enthusiastic manager there. He makes sure the place is lively, clean, and connected. Hannah and Yada did our pedicures last time and when Yada heard it was my birthday, she generously gave me a scrub. So sweet! I've also known Lan for years. She is so sweet, loves kids, and always sunshine in the place. Apart of me doesn't want to tell you this because I like making appointments and being able to get in--but it's the right thing to do and thankfully they're expanding so it shouldn't be an issue lol! read more

Was looking for a new salon. When I called I had let the woman on the phone know I had powder on my nails and asked if it would be an issue. The woman said no and the gel mani and regular pedi would be $66. Great. I was taken at my appointment time which was great. I was then put with someone who had no idea how to remove the powder. She soaked my nails in acetone and then filed the powder off with a nail file. It was a mess and she did it 4 times!! I should have stopped her. She destroyed my nails. My nails are now paper thin. Two which have already broken at the worst possible places. I have to walk around with a bandaid on one finger so it doesn't get caught. Now moving on to the actual manicure. The polish is so thin and she put 4 layers. It's not the color I want and when I tried to communicate the color I wanted the tech did not understand me so I just gave up. When I went to pay I was charged an extra $10 for the powder removal. I told her she should have let me know when I called. I called a few days later to let them know my nail peeled the same day I had them done. As soon as the woman heard there was an issue with one of my nails she blocked out anything else I said. I tried to convey I am home alone with a baby and do not have time to come in as the salon smells like smoke from the cigar shop next door and I was not willing to bring my baby with me. I simply wanted a refund for my manicure. She continued to just ask what time I wanted to come in. No apology, no listening. Just talking over me. Now I have to wait for my nails to grow out in order to fix them. I can't even go take the gel off as I'm afraid more nails will break! Worst experience. Will not go back, will not recommend. I'm a working mom who literally never gets a second to herself and I was so looking forward to relaxing for an hour or so during my mani/pedi. My husband bought me this gift card in March of 2020 and I'm JUST NOW getting the chance to use it because of the pandemic. I arrive here only to get perhaps the quickest, sloppiest nail treatment of my life. My 1 hour mani/pedi service lasted at most 15-18 minutes. I literally felt like I was part of an assembly line. The woman doing my nails rushed so much that when she was finished she bumped my finger with her cart and didn't even redo it. She just tried to cover it up. I then asked the woman doing my toes to please fix it, and she just put another clear coat on top of it. They didn't remove excess polish on my fingers or anything when they finished, just rushed to start on the two people next to me. I'm so disappointed in this experience. read more

If I was writing this review just based on what my nails look like, I would give 5 stars. However, that's not the case. Everyone was really nice at the salon, front desk girl was so sweet. No complaints about their hospitality. I wanted to get a pedicure because I was noticing my heels were dry and cracking. I asked for callous removal, which I knew would be extra. The tech did the common solution on your feet and put a bag over it... well, I noticed that my ankles started to burn a bit. Figured they were just irritated from the bag. Got home last night, realized they were irritated. Woke up today and see attached photo. A bit concerned with their "organic" solutions burning my skin to cause such an irritation. Great manicure, but not sure I would return based on what irritation it has caused. read more

I come here from time to time whenever I want to give my hands and feet some pampering! I came here on a Sunday (which is the salon's quietest day) and made an appointment for five people. Had to cancel one spot since my friend wasn't feeling well and they were nice about it--no charge to cancel! It was nice to have some tea while my feet had a callus treatment. I used the vegan nail polish they had and it was bright and colorful. Each of us had a different nail tech and they were all excellent and awesome. I feel bad for this review because the services are not awful. I think it's great that they have so many services in one place. But, they're not great. I spent a day here and got a massage (not bad, probably the best part of the day), facial (relaxing but irritated my skin, I started having peeling later in the day), and mani/pedi (would not dry even 5 hours later, and the woman cut my cuticle and it kept bleeding). But most importantly I think people need to know that this "Organic" salon and spa is next to a cigar house where men are smoking constantly. The smell of smoke permeates the entire salon and completely undermines the point of going somewhere organic. I smelled like a casino when I left. Again, I don't think that's necessarily their fault but they should really consider moving if they want to continue to leverage the organic marketing. read more

Alice was very helpful to find my color I wanted. She also showed me how to really get under my nails to prevent fungus. I really appreciated the info. 2 hour parking during the week. Sundays is unlimited. On another day I did "The Ultimate" which starts off with a 20 min chair massage. It's best to wear something that the masseuse can really get in there like a tank top. I forget how awesome chair massages can be. Note to self: "Do them more often!" Then I go in for my pedicure. That takes about 20 min for regular nail polish. Manicure for gel took about 45 min I think. My appt was at 12:30 and I left by 2:30 for this treatment. So relaxed! Thank you Julie for the massage and Lan for the custom color of nail polishes. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and a wedding was coming up so it gave me an excuse to get one. I always Yelp nail salons because every nail salon is the same -- smells like chemicals, all the Asian ladies talk behind your back about your ugly feet, and the choice of colors is few and far between. But when you walk into this place, there's already a noticeable difference in the environment. It doesn't smell like a regular nail salon. It was clean and it smelled fresh. I went in as soon as they opened because I didn't make an appointment and I wanted to make sure that I didn't have to wait. I was the first one there and the girls all greeted me very warmly. They even asked if I wanted something to drink while I was looking at the library of nail polish colors. There were two walls full of colors -- one wall just for gel. I've never seen so many gel colors in one place before. I picked out a really cute sparkly red, non-gel color and sat down at one of their massage/pedicure chairs. The water was already going. The water was nice and tepid. I didn't burn my feet as I soaked it. The person who pampered my feet didn't talk much, which is fine because I like relaxing and I could watch HGTV on their lovely flat screen (I'm a sucker for home improvement). The whole process took about 30-45 minutes. I didn't really notice. It was quick and the job was done right. I paid $22 for the pedicure, not including tip. There's a massage area in the back where you can also get waxed. I should've gotten a manicure too because I realized now that I'm typing that my hands are looking like a hot mess. Not only do they greet your with your choice of water, tea or coffee... but they also have TV and free WiFi. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. All in all they did a great job.
