Great tasting coffee. Drive thru line gets long but goes pretty quickly. I love their seasonal decorations outside of the walk up window.

I went to the Roost twice last week. It was hard at first since I didn't see the flavors and felt a bit rushed to order(not by the staff but by the eager drives behind me). I did a control drink- 16 oz cold brew with hazelnut syrup and a splash of almond milk. The coffee had a nice roast and the hazelnut tasted like Monin syrups which are my favorite. The second time I had a strawberry spiced chai a barista recommendation. The chai is flavorful and the strawberry was a nice touch. The drinks are reasonably priced and a great pit stop when running errands. It does get busy during school drop off and pick up times , so I try to go between that time. read more

The Roost remains my favorite local coffee shop and I'm not a coffee drinker. My favorite order is a chai latte. It's always the right temperature, smooth, creamy, and just enough chai spice to make it yummy. Their employees are always cheerful and helpful,as well as, my granddaughter's love getting their Italian sodas as a special treat on Saturdays. We usually frequent the kiosk in the village shopping center because it's convenient to my home. My daughter swears by their coffee and some of their other specialty drinks, and she should know , having been in the Coffee business for about 12 years. We enjoy their decorations around the holidays and as the seasons change. They also offer a drink card if you buy 10 selections, you get one for free. Not many places are giving anything away for free anymore, so I love this perk. read more

This is a drive-thru coffee stop for your convenience, but you can also walk-up to the window and order. First time and I have to say my coffee was really good. I had the Sugar Cookie Egg Nog Latte. It was on the sweet side, so I would ask for less syrup pumps next time. Super cute and excellent customer service. I would definitely come back if I am in the area. read more

Love this place! I just moved to this area of town, and have been stopping by nearly every morning for my large black coffee, splash of cream. They are the only other place I know of open before 0600 aside from Starbs, and I prefer to give my money to these types of places instead of giant corps. Very friendly staff and great coffee. I love supporting local coffee shops. Roost has been my favorite as it is close by, the coffee is amazing, and the girls are always friendly and fun to chat with. My favorite drinks from here are simple. A 24 oz Cold brew, or a 24 ounce Iced Americano and I am good to go! I've heard around town that this coffee is a favorite. My favorites have been elsewhere but I was determined to try. I like the price point and the staff is nice. It's a drive thru so not the ambiance I'm seeing but with a variety of a menu it's worth trying. It's cute and has like supporting the local businesses. I noticed this coffee shop when I was at a bakery nearby recently and decided to come back to try it! I'm a big fan of drive thru coffee shops right now since I have a newborn and it's easier to just stay in the car with her while I get coffee. This one is located in a shopping mall parking lot, so there's plenty of room to pull in and get in line. They were pretty busy but the line moved quickly! The drive thru menu looked pretty standard, so I asked if they have any specialty flavors. The girl working was super helpful, she asked what I usually like then offered some recommendations. I went with their current special which was a latte with cinnamon and brown sugar. It was delicious! I also love their coffee cups which say "life is too short for bad coffee." I have a friend who firmly believes this, so it was fun to see someone agreed enough to add it to a cup! The baristas were friendly, prices were standard, and coffee quality was great. I'd recommend having a list of your flavors or current specials visible from the drive-thru window, it might save the baristas some effort from having to explain those things to customers. In the meantime, I'll check Instagram for current specials and plan to come back again soon! read more

This little coffee joint is busy; however, the lines moved quick. I had a Cafe Mocha- it was the best coffee I have drank in a long time.

I had never tried this drive up spot before and my daughter had shared that she always hits this place up before she leaves town on a visit. We were out and about the day after Christmas and I wanted to try it finally after passing it by hundreds of times, it's in the local strip mall closest to our home. They have 2 drive up windows on either side for service, we both ordered our favorites and waited for a very short time. They had it decorated super cute for the holiday season. Love that. The only negative is mine was warm not hot. I just waited until I got home to warm it up and it was deliciousness! I will go again but order extra hot next time! read more

I came here to get a coffee and this is not a place to get a coffee in a hurry & I wasn't in a hurry at all. Was in line for about 15-20 mins behind 2 cars. But was patient. Had no where to be but what reallllly did it for me is when it's finally my turn the girl that took my order wasn't the friendliness but whatever. after she gets my order she immediately gets on her phone, for a call and was laughing on it, I can SEE her while the other girl looks like she is working her butt off because she has the other line that is packed. But my girl looked like whatever so because I felt so DISRESPECTED I got ahold of her by waving at her and told her just never mind. Not like she had even STARTED my coffee. The Roost has become my favorite coffee spot in Reno! This convenient little drive through is more than what meets the eye! They have two drive through sides and a walk up window, which we like to use when grabbing a coffee and going for a walk. The baristas are always pleasant and never seem stressed despite the long line that sometimes builds up during peak hours. My dog also loves coming here because they always give him a yummy chicken jerky treat! One day they recommended a honey lavender latte and I've been hooked on it every since! I love The Roost! First, it's so convenient to have a coffee drive through - but The Roost also has a few little tables in front, in case you want to stick around and sip your drink (in a parking lot). I feel like there aren't as many good coffee shop options in NW Reno as in Midtown so this is especially appreciated. The drinks are great and proced pretty much along the lines of the norm in Reno, I think. A 16 oz. latte is $4.06 (hot or iced, both delicious!). I mostly get lattes or cold brew and look forward to exploring some of the "fancier" blended drinks and stuff. I do think it's kinda weird that cold brew is minimum $4.75 but who knows. They do charge (varying amounts) extra for milk alternatives - so depending on your choice, it may get pricier (none is more than .70 extra, I don't think). They do have a bunch to choose from, so that's a plus. I also haven't tried the baked goods, but they sound tasty, and I don't have kids but love the concept of having a kids menu (like smoothies, hot chocolate and stuff). Service is always great and pretty fast! I usually go at kinda off hours so I imagine that they may get backed up during morning rush hour but all I know is that they make my drinks quickly and they're great! read more

I'm obsessed with the vanilla chai latte at the roost, I get it at minimum once a week, sometimes more. I don't even really like chai tea much but something about the chai at the roost is so addicting. My customer service is always really good. The girls are all so nice and even when the line is backed up it goes pretty quick. You can tell this is a small business and it's nice to support, compared to the bigger chains like Starbucks and Dutch. They even have blended chocolate milk which is very interesting to me, but cool for the kids! I love the roost and will be back for forever! read more

*** This is for the quick service location in Billage Shopping Center on California Ave, not listed on Yelp!*** I don't usually expect much from drive through coffee stores. They're normally cheap coffee with standard menus who's appeal is convenience and speed much more so than quality. The Roost is nothing like that, in the best of ways. While it did take longer than a normal drive through coffee joint, the quality of food, experience, and service is what I would expect from any traditional coffee shop. The Roost has a full menu including cold brew, blended drinks, and smoothies, as well as trendy add ons like hemp and oat milk that you can't find everywhere for a reasonable price upgrade (.65). They also had a discount (2.50) caffeine free kids section of the menu including smoothies, frozen chocolate milk, and Italian sodas! Despite being quick service in your car, the decor and graphic design creates an ambiance that is elevated above what you would expect. I ordered the special which was $1 off any size pumpkin white mocha, which I got iced. I had a nice conversation with the barista as she made my drink where she informed me that they were a local business with two locations. I'm not normally a huge fan of pumpkin drinks but this was really good. The espresso was strong but not burnt or bitter and it held up to all the sugar in the drink. I also really loved that as a small business, they had branded cups and eco friendly straw free sipper lids, a more expensive but more conscionable option. All in all, The Roost is a high quality drive through coffee shop that is good coffee you can feel good about supporting. Try it sometime! read more

What a delightful find!! We came for the farmers market and grabbed an iced coffee before we went to get our goodies. While there was a busy car line, I was able to pop up front near the seating to have my order taken. Even with the morning rush, all of the workers were kind and calm and my order came super quickly! On top of that it was delicious, I ordered an icecream coffee with vanilla and some cream and since they were out of their cold brew I tried the americano version instead which was delicious. They should let people know if there is because when I ordered an oat milk chai latte, I was running like I had an affogato. The ladies who work there are super sweet as well! Really disappointed. I asked if they could make a latte with almond milk blended. They said sure! I got my drink and it tasted really sweet. I'm thinking maybe the almond milk has a sweet taste. If you don't Roost are you really a Reno-ite? The White Chocolate Chai + 3 shots is to die for. Heck, every drink I have ever ordered here is to die for. The coffee is fresh, never burnt, and priced perfectly. We go here every Thursday after my kids swim lessons where she gets an Italian Soda with whipped cream (they put a big dollop on the straw which is her favorite part) and I get some kind of an iced drink. If it hadn't been for a massive hangover almost three years ago I would've kept driving past this little place, but thank goodness for bad decisions the night before because now I have found the only coffee shop I go to. Makena is my daughter's favorite barista! She talks to her and makes her the best Italian sodas.
