I wanted a light "lunch" and was looking for healthy and saw acai bowls which I thought I might try, pulled up online menu and instead saw a peanut butter chocolate protein smoothie. Ordered online which allowed modifications too (no dates!) showed up within 7 minutes and they had kept it in the fridge for me! One drink in and I was hooked. The juice was really good and my daughter enjoyed the açaí bowl. We went in to get some of the wellness shots as my husband was under the weather. My daughter got the mango smoothie and I got the toxin flush juice. Both were delicious and I might add, while everyone in my house got a cold, my daughter and I did not and the only thing we do differently is have the toxin flush juice a few times a week. I'm really loving this cool spot to shop and buy amazing things! This shopping center has a very hip vibe like the fun neighborhoods in L.A. This is the 2nd time I've been over here and was excited to try this new juice bar. Reno NEEDED a place like this badly, it's a great idea. It was pretty crowded this morning when I got there. They had a couple of different energy type shots but sadly no wheatgrass...I really wasn't down for the Turmeric... It was a very nice atmosphere, nicely appointed tables, comfortable chairs and nice music. The help was also very friendly and helpful to pick my smoothie. I ordered the Berry Banana Burst. I was kinda surprised that it wasn't 'Bursting" with much flavor at all, it actually was really bland! I've been a big smoothie girl forever. The town where we lived in the Bay Area had a wonderful non-chain place that I just loved. Here in Reno I've been to the Jamba Juice dozens of times and I really like what they are serving up. Okay. So I was really wanting to try this place out, regardless of the WRONG hours posted online. It said "closed" on Thursday's but they're actually open until 7 on those days. Probably should try to get that fixed on Google/maps. Anyways! I was helped out by a shortie like me with really pretty eyes, didn't get her name but she was patient and very helpful! I got the elderberry smoothie and she suggested to substitute apple juice/coconut water for the cashew milk (made in house) and I was stoked on that because The cashew milk didn't sound too appealing. I went with apple juice, I am not super into coconut water. Along with the smoothie, I got a 1 day cleanse kit and a little Lumen shot. The day cleanse comes with 6 bottles and a cute cooler bag. All of them were very tasty, wrote down the ingredients on some to recreate later. The lemonade was probably the hardest to get through because of how tart it was but all in all a good cleanse that didn't leave me feeling hungry at all so they really know what they're doing. And it is currently on sale so you basically get $5 off. I'll stop in another time when I'm craving an Açaí bowl, not sure if I'll be in a lot mostly cuz it is a little spendy but what isn't now a days? Jüs is still cheaper all around when comparing prices, especially the prices for cleanses but a lot of the smoothies here sound really different, and intriguing, compared to Jüs. read more

I have always enjoyed finding and going to Juice Bars and Health kick places , but I do not go often since they were far away from me in downtown/midtown area. Finally being in Spanish Springs near the Walmart and shopping center , I've been wanting to try it out as soon as I found it about the place. I was in the mood for something more healthier this morning and I was already in the Spanish springs area, so I decided to stop by and grab a smoothie for my fiancé and a açaí bowl for myself. The place itself was empty since it was around 9am , so I was able to do a quick in and out. I ended up ordering my Fiancé a 16oz Berry Smoothie and myself a superfood açaí bowl. Which ended up being really good! The açaí bowl had a really good presentation of toppings and the actual bowl itself was not too soupy like some açaí bowls can be. My fiancé also really enjoyed his smoothie . Overall, I'm happy there is now a juice bar in the Sparks area that makes it more convenient for me. I believe this is only the second negative YELP review I've ever had to leave. My experiences everywhere I go are always so positive. But if you don't say, nothing changes, right?? So here goes ... this is not about Nekter products. In fact, I placed an expensive order yesterday for three açaí bowls and am sure glad I did as I can make them stretch. This review is about one thing -- the man in the black polo shirt who was maybe supervisor? Franchisee? Fake smile on his face, as he broke my heart a lil bit. When I called earlier from urgent care and asked they place my order in the freezer, the girl I spoke with was friendly and assured me orders go in the freezer to be kept cold until customer arrival. YAY me. Trouble started with my little lovefest over at the brand-spanking-new Bath and Body Works located right here in Spanish Springs. I will be Yelping them out some positivity as soon as I am finished here. Those sireens caught me up the minute I walked in the door and may have helped me snag some extra Christmas gifts for my girlies and even some things for me. It was so great an experience -- laughing and interacting with my register buddy (man, how I wish I had her name), that I might have overdone it just a bit. But they gave me an extra 25% off regularly priced items and saved me $40, so apparently you are sometimes rewarded for kindness. Aw shoot, I admit I am OFTEN rewarded for kindness, thought I expect nothing. Let's switch gears, though. Back and knees were now aching, no pain meds on board. Totally worth it to do BBW, but I still had to pick up some meds at the pharmacy and pop over to Nekter. I pulled up and thought man, if I could call in there, they might could walk the 10 steps out to me and save me having to get out of the car. My phone had died, so I Skyped them from my iPad. TWICE. Got a stupid recording about how they are not receiving unidentified calls (guess Skype doesn't show my name). Poo. OK, grab those walking sticks and trek on into the shop, after having to sideline over to the "handicap" flat spot in the sidewalk. I do not like that word; I prefer temporarily mobility challenged. Making my slow trek to the counter, now pain is bordering on unbearable. I was not immediately acknowledged. In fact, I got the idea that the "man in black" wasn't real thrilled when he looked up and saw me there. Fat phobic? Afraid of the walking sticks? Who knows. I'm not in his head. But he comes over with a fake smile plastered to his face and asks me if I have an order. I said well, first can I just say how desperately I wished they had picked up their phone as I am parked *right*there* and as a super loyal and regular customer, had hoped they could walk 10 steps to hand deliver to me. He asked me again if I was there to pick up an order. I tilted my head. Cuz wait a minute. Can we just spend like 30 seconds on the fact that I made it to his counter because they don't answer their phone????? Nope. As I tilt my head at him in confusion, you guessed it, again with am I there to pick up an order. Hmmm, I say aloud. Let me just think for a minute. So you're telling me you really don't care about anything other than handing me my order, that you'd been quite busy, and I shouldn't bother you with the phone thing. Pretty much take your pain and your sticks and your order, lady, and just leave. So did you have an order for pickup, asks our man in black. No lie. I should have counted each time he asked. Well, at least he didn't interrupt me. Just kept repeating that same question in answer to any question I had. I might have coughed out a laugh just then as it was feeling surreal. Maybe it was the pain, but what a bummer. I said how super sad I was going to be never again being able to order from his super conveniently located store, but apparently he didn't need my business. Yes, I shall take that super expensive but admittedly cute lil paper bag with my order in it now. And I shall not be back. But I am sure no one will notice the negative review I leave. What a wonderful and healthy treat it is to have this wonderful establishment in Sparks. Would you believe I have already been here 5 times? I have tried several of their smoothies, Acai bowls, and even some of the juices that are in the cold case. The Acai bowls are huge and beautiful to look at. I absolutely adore the customer service as well. They are always so kind. My favorite Acai bowl is the dragonfruit bowl. The dragonfruit bowl is a beautiful reddish-purple. So yummy. Lots of fresh fruit, raw coconut, hemp seed granola, and smoothie base. This is so much better than ice cream and way healthier for you. They also have a seasonal smoothie that tastes like eggnog. So yummy and flavorful. Since I am refined sugar-free this is the only place in town where I can go and get dessert. Needless to say, there are a lot of options not to mention that they also carry a refined sugar-free dairy-free ice cream. Take time to make a choice. There has never been a place that has made me want to leave a bad review but unfortunately for Nektar I need to. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with attitude and disrespect. The two young lady's working seemed angry from the jump. We ordered two smoothies and two smoothie bowls. We left an undeserved tip and were being extremely friendly to the workers. Still there unforgivable attitudes kept tensions high. After receiving our order we walked out of the store, as i walked out of the store the worker pulled the door from my hands and yanked it closed. extremely rude and immature. Nekter was easy to choose from as its right in front of where I was working for the day. I decided on a juice and açaí bowl. The green apple juice was super refreshing a little on the tangy side but good. Next time I will choose easy on the green apple The açaí bowl was perfect. It had a nice amount of peanut butter mix with the granola. I ate the fruit first and then the mix. It definitely satisfied my hunger. The atmosphere is super chill. My wife heard a lot of good things about this place so we stopped by to give it a try. Due to covid, we weren't able to go completely inside (we came here a month or so ago so you may be able to now). They had a table set up near the door with their menus and cup sizes on display to help you decide. I decided to try their "Orange Crush" smoothie and my wife opted for one of their "Dragon Fruit Pineapple" Elixir. After paying, we were told to go hang out inside our vehicle and they would bring the drinks out to us. I can't remember exactly how long we waited but I do know it wasn't more than 5-10 minutes. There was a couple people ahead of us so all things considered, the wait was short. Also, between the girl who took our order and the one who brought the drinks out, the service was great. They were both friendly and personable. On to the drinks. My wife raved about her elixir. I took a sip of it and I wasn't thrilled by it. Then again, I don't much care for Dragon Fruit flavored drinks. My "Orange Crush" smooth was decent. You could tell it was made with fresh ingredients as it didn't have that super sweet, "Jamba Juice", taste (Not knocking Jamba. I'm a fan). All in all, it was decent. I wasn't blown away but I liked it enough that I would come back again to try something else. I crave this place all the time! I love their PB health nut smoothie as a delicious treat or even as a meal. Other places use ice cream or sherbet in their smoothies, but they don't. Earlier in the day, I decided I wanted an acai bowl for dinner. These are so refreshing on a warm/hot afternoon. After a great dance lesson, so I was good and sweating, getting for my long-awaited acai bowl was heaven. My order was taken quickly and my bowl was ready promptly. It was so hard to drive home with my food sitting on the seat next to me! As quickly as I could, I let the dogs out so I could dig into my bowl. They didn't have much flavor and there was still huge chunks of fruits in mine. I figured maybe it's because they were swamped and still needed to work a couple of things out. I went for a second time after a couple of my friends who are frequenters here to give it another chance. I ended up getting their charcoal vanilla ice cream, which was almost $6 for one scoop and 3 (free) toppings. I thought it was cool that they had vegan chocolate chips and gluten free granola, since you don't see it often. Most places only stick with either being vegan or gluten.
