Service was thee worst, We had to wait 45 minutes to be seated, then another 30 minutes to place an order. Took another 35 minutes to get our food. Our table was missing two orders. I addressed it with the waitress but was told it would be another 30 minutes, because they were busy. The restaurant was only about 3/4 full. the food was semi warm and it was over cooked. Once again it was addressed with the waitress and she said I will let the cook know. Worst waitress, food and atmosphere for a restaurant that I have ever been to. The food was well priced and tasted good. Service was OK. I had hopes for this restaurant because it advertised to be Veteran owned and operated. Having seen the world as a Veteran myself, I was hoping this restaurant attracted even-mindedness. Three strikes that will seer this restaurant as one to avoid in the future... One of the last remaining Bishopville Mom & Pop style restaurants. Has a strange schedule so need to be aware before coming. Excellent fresh bar/deli style food. Everything seems scratch made for the most part. Have tried most the menu never a bad meal. Sometimes there can be a wait as it's very popular and busy. Honestly wasn't expecting much and was going for really just because it was supposed to be a lizard man themed-ish place and was surprised at how much we like the food. For what it is (burgers and such) it was great! The burger was excellent and so was the service. Had the lizard man burger and a hot dog with some beers and fries. I walked in, was not greeted, looked around, found a waitress, she said to me yeenear, had to say I don't understand you twice. Finally I got it. She was asking me I was going to eat here. She said sit anywhere you want to. I kept waiting for her or someone to bring me a menu... I had to go up to the counter and ask what I need to do to get a menu. Placed my order with someone other than my waitress. Who apparently was too busy to be bothered with me. Other folks were getting their food and had gotten there after I did. I waited another 15 minutes for my food. I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. The pre breaded chicken nuggets, frozen out of the bag was terrible, the fries well some were hot some were Stone Cold. I saw a sign on the freeway that said eat locally so I said that sounds like a good idea I will do that. Crappy food crappy service I will never go there again. read more

What aninteresting local place! Had a minister suggest trying this place out. Unique roadsign, with equally unique decor inside. The server suggested if it was my first time to consider ordering a hoagie, as that is the favorite of most. Also on the menu are burgers, wings, salads, etc. I took her suggestion and ordered the Chicken Hawk, a hoagie with grilled chicken pieces, cheese and bacon (I ordered it without the grilled onions.) As a side homecut fries were available. Enjoyed looking at the decor while I was waiting, which include Elvis signs, Coca-Cola, The Three Stooges, and a Kurt Cobian poster (go figure . . .) Minimal wait for the meal. Enjoyed the flavor of the hoagie and the fries. Good portion size. Enjoyable experience. read more

My son has been wanting to take me here and he was finally able to. We love supporting small businesses and when they are this good they will be getting our support. A cool little hole in the wall off the Interstate and Rt 15. Easy to find, take the Exit if heading East and Turn left onto 15, go about a mile and it's on the right. You cannot miss it. Turn into the dirt/sand/field/parking lot and walk into the little wooden restaurant, have a seat and eat. No frills here just a relaxing lunch. Ordered a Mushroom Swiss Burger, fries, and half and half sweet tea thats not too sweet, thus half and half. Waitperson was a nice young lady who was handling the whole place, but made sure I was taken care of. The burger was cooked just right at medium well and dressed. Fries were hot and clean fresh not made with dirt grease. So if your heading to the coast or coming back stop here. It's not a chain like everything else on the exit and a great place to relax. I ventured in this magnificent hole in the wall with all kinds of butterflies in my stomach. Was I going to meet the infamous Lizard Man? There were also back channel rumors that the owner could breast feed sick kittens back to health. This place had been calling to me and my sick kittens for years. The Cavalier was a culinary masterpiece. I had sweet tea that was so juicy and sweet that it hit senses that I didn't know existed. I was lucky enough to meet the famous owner. His name was Harry. Unfortunately, the rumors of his breastfeeding abilities were false so my kittens are still sick. He was still a nice guy. I would greatly recommend this place to travelers in time or reality. read more
