First time actually trying the food here, and I'm so sad I forgot to take a picture! I usually just stop by to grab a pound of whole bean coffee, but today I ordered the Kickin' Bagel and substituted the sausage for a veggie sausage and it was delicious. I also ordered a chai with a shot of espresso and highly recommend it. The staff was super helpful and friendly, which made the experience even better. I couldn't resist grabbing a chocolate croissant pastry, and they heated it up for me it was warm, flaky, and so good. Everything was delicious, and now I'm honestly sad I didn't try the food sooner. Millcreek Roasters is one of my favorite coffee shops in Salt Lake City. The Ethiopian and Kenyan roasts rival the best brews sold anywhere! If you're into specialty coffee drinks, they have you covered as well. I have so far, tried their latte and cappuccino, superbly made and excellent tastes. My kids the Italian sodas. My favorite complement to coffee are their cookies. Always soft and favorful, whether chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, or my absolute favorite, ginger! This is down the street from the Hertz rental location so a perfect place to stop before or after picking up/dropping off your car. I had a mocha, half sweet, and it really hit the spot. I'm pretty sure I heard about Millcreek Coffee Roasters on the City Cast Salt Lake podcast-and I take their recommendations seriously. So when a friend wanted to meet up for coffee, I suggested this place. It's downtown, just a whisper's distance from the Trax station, which makes it even more attractive. Next time, I'll ride the train since I was a doofus and parked in the lot to the south instead of the lot to the north like everyone else. When I left, I gasped as I noticed that I had to navigate around several barriers to get into that parking lot. What was I thinking? I'm just glad I wasn't towed. Anyway, no fault of the coffee shop, just a patron not paying attention. Once inside, I was drawn in by the aroma of freshly roasted beans...and I was able to watch the giant roasters from our table, such a neat thing to see! I enjoyed a simple black coffee-nothing fancy, but it was delightful. The menu has lots of offerings ranging from breakfast sammies to unique drinks. The place has a nice vibe to it and the staff is very friendly. There are a good number of seating options for you to dine inside or even outdoors. Even though it was breakfast time, I ordered a lunch sandwich (ham and Swiss) and lemonade because I was hungry. The sandwich did not disappoint! In fact it had a lot more flavor than I anticipated. I would definitely order it again. The manager Justin is prejudice towards people who are unhoused or of color. Has consistently lied about not hiring people at that location yet consistently hired new faces. I asked him if he would mind if someone else could take my order due to the fact that he was training someone new and he looked busy out of consideration. He told me to order something or get out and I said I would I like my order taken from someone who isn't as busy and he called police and made a bunch of fake accusations to decline me service. Stopped in for a latte and quick bite before we got back on the road to CA. I usually get a doppio at every coffee shop I go to to try their coffee and a latte. Firstly I ordered a 12 oz extra hot latte for here, it came in a coffee MUG(more than 12oz like 16oz, and all it was was a coffee drowning in milk, yuck! Latte short cups were available, but not used. My friend ordered the same and asked for it to be for here in a ceramic cup(the only way I'll drink my coffee) and they brought it out in a paper cup and then apologised and instead of remaking it, just poured it into a ceramic mug. We ordered a sandwich and I got the magaritsld flat bread. The doppio was terrible(coffee didn't taste good),I the margaritas flat bread was doable for a coffee shop. I had higher experience from this place because they call themselves Coffee Roasters which they actual roast their coffee at the back. The latte & doppio was terrible and not served right. If you in the business of selling coffee and such, learn how to serve it and learn the terms associated with each. I basically through half of my Latte away because all I tasted was milk. This place is close by and conveniently right by the 600 S trax stop. It's easy to grab a coffee and commute. I got an iced latte and a pastry. Both were really good and a decent price point. I liked how they could make any drink on the menu iced. Seating inside was ample and they had some tables outside in the grass under some shaded trees. My name is Rob (Robin) and I am a black woman, I say this because it is important that you try to see yourself as me for this story at best. I am born and raised in our beautiful state. I have never posted on here so please be kind to me, I am trying to find out how we can together stop racial profiling. As I write this I am in tears. So I will share with you what happened to me last night at Millcreek coffee. First of all this incident was the fourth and final one, and it hugely impacted my life, my son, etc. On Tuesday evening my son tested positive for COVID he is only 11 years old. (And yes, thank you all I am aware that kiddos his age can now be vaccinated, blessings :) ) We have a new puppy in my home his name is Winston my son needed a few items from the grocery store, and I needed to get the puppy out before going. So I grabbed my keys ( my auto car fob, my entrance to my building fob, mailbox and home key were on the key ring) Affer frolicking in the leaves with the pup, I stopped in at Millcreek coffee on Main to grab us some water it was near closing time. We had water and went on our way. We stayed out for a bit longer and I realized I didn't have my keys. I back tracked to Millcreek coffee and I excitedly saw someone still there. I politely knocked on the door and she looked up at me, made eye contact and walked into another room, with another look, and closed the door. So I knocked again, aware they have cameras, I thought maybe she is going to look on camera and see that I was the lady that comes to your shop sometimes daily for coffee and petting for Winston. But no she never came back out, I knocked a few more times as I had a sick son to get too and get to the store. Well I couldn't find my keys affer back tracking again through various places and ended up calling a locksmith who billed me $450 dollars. I still don't know if my keys are in the shop. This kind of treatment has to stop. I am not sure what is written on my face, or how I look, but a similar situation happened at Honest Eatery in City Creek, only this time my son was with me. Which was so upsetting for him, the lady Andee wouldn't service us, they were getting ready to close. It was horrible. It's important I write this in long form, as I want you to know I am not trying use the race card. or anything like that. I am hurt and I almost couldn't get my son what he needed. I keep thinking what if we couldn't enter my building by using my phone, or worst if I had left my phone at home, or even worst I didn't have the $450 that may have been avoided by just checking to see if my keys were there good news neighbors my son is doing better daily. Sad news is these types of incidents continue to happen to me, one of your neighbors. I think if it is happening to me, and I am decently fortunate and educated, how are these places treating other's? Like I said my fourth incident with Millcreek. How can we do better? Or dare I ask, what did I do wrong?? I am perplexed as to why she wouldn't even come to the locked and secure door and just answer my one question?? As a woman of color just trying to live in these compromising times, l ask you all to please just know that I, we, are good people. I will help anyone anytime if I can. Try smiling at others it goes along way. And not just for those who are visibly homeless. Oh and Millcreek coffee please know that you don't have to worry about me, my son, daughter, or friends, or any family member returning to your shop. Though you are literally next door, I will happily take the drive, and spend my hundreds of dollars elsewhere. To the young lady who refused to walk to the door, I only had a question, I needed help, I know you were closed, I wasn't in need of coffee nor was I there to harm you in anyway. You serviced me the day before and I complemented you on your haircut , you remind me of Sinead O'Connor, one of my favorite artists. Came here on a Friday morning because I needed to kill two hours as I get work done on my car at S4 Custom next door. Not busy at all. Spacious. Courteous staff. Comfortable. Clean. Everything I could ask for. Perfect place to sit and chill. They have bar seating, table seating and lots of couches. I sat in a cozy leather couch right next to the large machines that grind the coffee beans. Pretty cool watching the workers make the coffee. What I really like about this place was the courteous staff. They had smiles, engaged with eye contact, and made sure I was happy with my order. I ordered the Earl Grey tea (black tea) per the recommendation of the barista helping me. Good choice and great flavor. I also ordered an egg and Swiss cheese breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel. They heated it up just right for the perfect crunch and perfect melt for the cheese. Another nice touch - they greeted two customers by their name.
