Cool spot, good location in the avenues. They have plenty of seating with couches, tables etc. Has that basement feel coffee spot vibe. I got an everything bagel with egg & cheddar cheese. I'll have to try the coffee next time. Staff was very nice.

I absolutely LOVE cafe on 1st. The vibe in here is so cozy. They have really cute seatings areas both inside and outside. Outside, there are a bunch of plants and trees. Inside the have tables, couches, and chairs. Total Friends vibes. My husband and I like to come here and read. The workers are always super nice. They have iPads to order from, but if you want to order from someone, they are always willing to help. My husband gets a Cuban cafe au lait and loves it! They have canned Diet Coke, so I'm always happy with that. I will also sometimes get their pastries, and they are so good! Such a fun vibe and great spot to grab coffee and a bite!!

Came here Tuesday morning. The employee was very polite and offered recommendations for my order. The shop isn't too busy at 9 am and there's plenty of seating both inside and outside (tables or couches). They have a lofi jazz playlist going which excellent to study with. I got the sausage egg and cheese croissant. Filling and is exactly what you paid for . Will definitely be coming back again to study

We came here for breakfast. I ordered the bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. The food is delicious! I've never seen a bagel with a generous portion of eggs. I also had a vanilla latte! My daughter ordered a Nutella toast. All the food we ordered were freshly made. We found a spacious lounge area for our big group. They also had pastries and donuts. The staff was so accommodating and friendly! I would definitely come back here for lunch so I can try the smoothies and sandwiches!

My spouse and I had a very good lunch at this café during our visit to SLC last week. Though it wasn't obvious when we stood in line, there are 2 monitors where you digitally order your food. I was going for a chicken sandwich initially, but there was no ability to remove ingredients, so I went for an egg and bacon (no cheese) croissant instead. The sandwich had a few slices of bacon on the bottom and a LOT of scrambled eggs on top! The croissant had been toasted and was crunchy inside and soft outside. The food was really good. The feel of the café is one of a coffee shop and, though we chose to eat inside, several tables were outside in front of the store. This is a good place for a quick meal and a relaxing visit. Look for the unusual painting near the restroom, too! You won't be able to look away.

Cozy cafe in a nice neighborhood! There's seating inside and outside, you order on a tablet and the process is straightforward. I got an iced caramel macchiato and a breakfast burrito (definitely get the sexy sauce if your taste buds like cilantro). It was a great breakfast and the baristas were super friendly!

This place had photos of couches on google, which bus why I came here on one of my work from home days. And I was sad to not see any couches when I arrived. You order at a computer with no personal interaction. But... but... I have never had such a good everything bagel with egg and sausage with Avacado. I don't know who is making their lattes and their dishes back there because I never actually saw a human, but dang.... I'd go back just because e writhing tasted so freaking good! It was a quiet spot too, a great WFH location.

This is my favorite local coffee spot. I am coming here all the time! The owners are so nice and always very helpful and the energy inside is super chill and welcoming. Highly recommend!

So glad that this place is in my neighborhood here in the Avenues! A fun loving Thai couple runs this place and greets everyone by name. The coffee is hot and their menu of croissants and burrito breakfasts and sandwiches are all delicious. A small dining room and parking on the back and in the road on 1st. They even mentioned they were going to add to their menu curry! Always my morning go to when I'm headed out to have fun when I visit Salt Lake City!

Which was made up of perfectly fried pork topped with Dukes mayo (my fav), ranch-kraut (my new fav), and dill. You can really taste the ingredients which is such a plus for me as too many ingredients in a sandwhich can get muddy. - They had a special butternut squash soup with calabrian chili which was phenomenal. At only $3 it was a perfect side for winter. CONS: - Pricey. I think at this price point if it added a bag of chips or some time of fruit or a small little side or maybe a can of soda included it would be a perfect meal and a very reasonable price point. My only suggestion.

The owner was kind and helped me pick between the two sandwiches I was being indecisive about - the Oh Schnitzel and the Hot Chopped Cheese. He asked if I could handle spicy and I said yes. I let him choose a sandwich for me between the two and he chose the Hot Chopped Cheese and said he thinks I'd enjoy it. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

If it's your first visit, just know lunch works a little differently, you walk up to the counter and order from the deli case. We had no idea what we were doing at first, but the woman helping us at the counter was super patient and walked us through everything and gave recommendations. So Nice! I went with the mozzarella-filled risotto ball with marinara and a mozzarella tomato salad. Yes, it was a very mozzarella-heavy lunch choice and I stand by it. Also grabbed a fro-sè and kept it simple with a San Pellegrino. My other half definitely won the "better lunch" competition with egg salad sandwich, roasted brussels sprouts, and the pasta salad combo was ridiculously good. Parking was easier than expected too. There's a side parking lot we totally missed at first, plus a lot of nearby street parking. Definitely one of those places I'd go back to on another sunny day just to sit outside, snack, and slowly sip a fro-sè.

The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

However, both my boys struggled with their hot chicken. My youngest couldn't finish his meal but my oldest soldiered on and finish but he was hurting the next 24hrs. The fries were the lowlight of the meal...minimal flavor and not too soft in the middle. I basically used mine as a heat sink in my mouth.
