This is a cozy, funky little coffee house located in a residential neighborhood. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. You order at a kiosk inside. We tried some iced drinks with various flavors added and the Breakfast Bowl which comes with eggs, cheese, beautifully fresh avocado slices, potatoes, and some veggies with a side of garlic ranch sauce. Holy Moly! Coffee is great. That sandwich was to die fo! It's priced perfectly and you get a lot of sandwich! I love their spot in the avenues. They have fun outside seating and a lot of it is shaded. A cue walk up window which is great for ordering and then waiting outside. You can chill with your dog and there's enough space between seating outside that you don't have to worry about being in another dog's space! read more

Always friendly service at Cafe on 1st. They're family owned and it's felt when you walk in. The walls are decorated with local art and event flyers, which makes it feel like a true community hub. It's a cozy place to post up and I love that it's located in the avenues. The coffee is good and strong, and their food is consistent. It can be hard to find a cafe which offers good food and good coffee, and I feel that Cafe on 1st nails it. read more

Charming neighborhood coffee shop in the Avenues. The kind of place you walk into and instantly want to linger, but I was just grabbing a quick bite before work and only ordered food. Street parking was easy. I got a breakfast sandwich and a bagel with cream cheese for a friend. Both were decent but nothing mind-blowing, solid 3/5. The staff were friendly, and the space itself is great: spacious, comfy, 5/5 vibe. Ended up giving them a 4/5 overall. I'm excited to come back to try their drinks next time. read more

I absolutely LOVE cafe on 1st. The vibe in here is so cozy. They have really cute seatings areas both inside and outside. Outside, there are a bunch of plants and trees. Inside the have tables, couches, and chairs. Total Friends vibes. My husband and I like to come here and read. The workers are always super nice. They have iPads to order from, but if you want to order from someone, they are always willing to help. My husband gets a Cuban cafe au lait and loves it! They have canned Diet Coke, so I'm always happy with that. I will also sometimes get their pastries, and they are so good! Such a fun vibe and great spot to grab coffee and a bite!! read more

This cute little coffee shop was a gem to find across the street from the Airbnb me and friends stayed at. The owner who took our order was pleasant, kind, and seemed genuinely happy to serve us. He even offered some chocolate covered coffee beans while we waited for our order....the coffee beans were delicious, too! I got a sausage and cheese on an English muffin..it tasted good but there were two sausage patties on it...which is generous, but was too much meat for me. My Americano was on point, as was my friend's mango smoothie, which was a great price compared to other places. I wish it was open earlier on weekends so we could go again, but our schedule won't allow it. read more

My spouse and I had a very good lunch at this café during our visit to SLC last week. Though it wasn't obvious when we stood in line, there are 2 monitors where you digitally order your food. I was going for a chicken sandwich initially, but there was no ability to remove ingredients, so I went for an egg and bacon (no cheese) croissant instead. The sandwich had a few slices of bacon on the bottom and a LOT of scrambled eggs on top! The croissant had been toasted and was crunchy inside and soft outside. The food was really good. The feel of the café is one of a coffee shop and, though we chose to eat inside, several tables were outside in front of the store. This is a good place for a quick meal and a relaxing visit. I'm a visitor to SLC and was staying in an AirBnB in the Avenues. Cafe on 1st was recommended and within walking distance. It was comfy with outdoor and indoor seating and the bagel and tea I ordered was fine. This was just me, but you order off an I-pad at the counter and there are two so I wasn't hogging the counter. While I was entering my order, the sales person asked "Are you done?" and I got the feeling he thought I was taking too long because there was someone behind me. They could have used the other i-pad. But maybe I was just being sensitive because later it looked like alot of locals came in. I just didn't care for the service. read more

We came here for breakfast. I ordered the bagel with egg, cheese and bacon. The food is delicious! I've never seen a bagel with a generous portion of eggs. I also had a vanilla latte! My daughter ordered a Nutella toast. All the food we ordered were freshly made. We found a spacious lounge area for our big group. They also had pastries and donuts. That makes it a little challenging with figuring out if your food is ready but I walked in to check on it at the exact moment that it was set on the counter. Coincidence! They really don't have a huge menu, just some bagels and a few sandwiches and burritos/wraps. Mom chose the bomb bagel which came with tomato and avocado and cream cheese. Love this place! They have a great menu, lots of different options for food and drinks. You can customize pretty much anything. Love the self serve ordering, when I do talk to the staff they have all been lovely. The energy is very quiet and chill, somewhere you go to study or read a book. The furniture on the inside is somewhat like a thrift store, Not so aesthetically pleasing but gets the job done. This place was bad. Don't come here if you're looking for food. Smoothie was straight artificial sugar. Avocado toast was weird slices with no seasoning on non toasted bread and it was brown. The bomb burrito was not bomb. The sausage was almost white, the eggs were weird, hard parts of the tortilla as well as brown gross guacamole. Matcha was okay. I ordered a scone and a breakfast sandwich. I feel like their packaging could have been better. It was wrapped in tin foil and when I opened the sandwich the bread was all soggy which made me sad because I was excited to eat it. The scone tasted burnt and overall not the best I've eaten. read more
