This is the quintessential small town restaurant. Food is decent and the staff is genuine. I was happy with my burger and fries but I was overwhelmed by the small town atmosphere. While there enjoying my well prepared food a young man came in needing a lift to the gas station. The locals who were obviously well known to the staff helped him out immediately! I've driven past this place hundreds of times in my life and every time there was a ton of cars parked outside and thought dang that must be some good food! You know the ones, those terrible lil dive bars but they serve up some of the best food around? Yeah, like that! Except this is not the case!! One Friday night around 7:30, starving and thought why the hell not. Went in saw two other tables, two servers and two cooks... alright alright. Took about 5 mins to get the menus and another 5 to get our drinks (fountain soda mind you) and we ordered. Got a grilled ham & cheese and I ordered their "world famous" (says it right on the menu) broasted chicken. I haven't had a good broasted chicken in ages so I was pretty stoked at this point. About ten mins goes by and the table next to us was getting their food... no this isn't to complain about the wait for our food, broasted chicken takes a while I know... and their food looked amazing! It was a huge chef salad with all the toppings and some sort of sub sandwich but it looked awesome so I was even more excited to get ours! Then ours arrived about 5 mins later. The ham and cheese looked like it came off the kids menu and half of the ham was inedible (you know, those weird hard/chewy parts ) aaaand worst of all, the broasted chicken was gawd awful. I'm not even kidding you, there was absolutely no flavor, no seasoning, no nothing. It was dry and flavorless and a huge disappointment. I could go on about getting no refills, our server just checking out and just standing around picking her nose (literally), but you get the point. It's not a high class establishment and I don't expect the service to be that way either, but gottt d@mn don't serve horrible food. It's that simple. read more

Excellent food and service. Shared the Ruben and Cobb salad. The sandwich was delicious, tender flavorful corned beef, onion rings perfect! The salad was fresh and yummy. So big we had to take half home. Highly recommend! Will be back next time I'm near Drain. read more

Elk Burgers and Lots of Other Food with Bar and Games My son raved about this place so we had to go before I went back to Las Vegas . We all had the Elk Burger , mine with Onion Rings and my son and his girlfriend had Tator Tots . They were good , but my son said it was better the last time , so we will have to try again when I come back . Still not as good as the Buffalo Burgers I had in Montana , they were off the hook ! The bar is pretty cool with lots of wooden chairs and benches . They have a pool table and a like shuffle board game and both are free to play . I have always loved this place for breakfast. I've always told people about this place. I went in there today had the same cook and things were completely different. First of all my omelette was smaller. My portion of hashbrowns was smaller, but the thing that really upset me was every time I've gone in there for the last 10 years I've been able to have a biscuit with my meal for no additional charge. Today I was charged an additional two dollars and didn't even realize it till I got home. She never told me they had changed the menu, she never warned me I was gonna get charged an additional amount if I ordered a biscuit instead of toast. It's not the money that bothers me. It's the fact that on top of the prices almost doubling in the last four years now I'm being secretly charged for something I've always had. Not happy not going back. I called to question the two dollar biscuit charge and was told that they had a new computer system and that making biscuits cost so much money they had to increase the rate. Well, I wish I would've been told and I think that's bullshit. read more

By the looks of the outside I can't see myself ever really stopping unless I was in need of something on a lonely highway. Once inside it's actually pretty cool. It reminds me of a log cabin in the middle of the woods or something. The chairs, and stools look custom made. We called ahead of time and let them know our group was coming. The service was great. The food came out piping hot, and while no it wasn't a 5 start restaurant it was pretty good. It was the typical bar fare, and I was limited on what I usually like to order so I went with the chicken strip basket. They were pretty quality. And I had the ham and bean soup which was also really hot and I am willing to bet was homemade. It had nice chunks of ham. I stole bites of fried mushrooms from a friend while I was waiting for my food. They were good as well. Normal bar food. It was a nice stop for us. We like to ride once a week with our friends, and on nice days we go for longer rides. So this was one of our destinations. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. My partner has scrambled eggs ham hash browns toast and a couple drinks it was all cooked to order. I had the four-piece chicken tender basket was really fresh and moist.The other thing I love is I ordered iced tea and it came with a pitcher , for refills. The bill is very reasonable. The waitress and bartender were both really nice helpful very efficient. They was following the covered protocols. The restrooms are very clean thank you. We will definitely stop it again read more

On our trip through the beautiful state of Oregon we happened upon a little gem in the quiet, quaint little town of Drain and found the people to be welcoming and friendly. The waitress, Christina was one of the best waitresses we've had and was Uber friendly and made our breakfast delightful and LeAnne can definitely make some bomb biscuits and gravy. They were super great to our dog, a no hassles establishment and even cooked a tasty chicken breast for our fur baby. She was super happy. We would definitely recommend people pay this charming place a visit, well worth it. Will definitely be back in the very near future. read more

We live in the area but haven't eaten here for awhile. Pleasant surprise tonight! Had a wonderful fish and chips dinner. Didn't take very long from order to hot meal on the clean table. This place has some phenomenal elk burgers for a great price. Their fries that come with it are fresh and on point with flavor. The service is great and they are always friendly. I'd suggest calling in your order or wanting a beer or two if you go in on a Friday night because this place gets jamming and you'll have a wait for the food. I highly suggest giving this place a visit if you're on your way to the middle of nowhere or taking the back way to Winchester bay area. read more

I don't write reviews but....today was my sons birthday. He wanted to eat here and we never have. I stopped in and picked up a menu on my way home with family and kids. I asked the lady working if i could call in an order. She said yes. About an hour later....after reviewing the menu I called. A lady finally answered and asked me to hold. The phone was off the hook then she hung up. I called back as we were really excited about finally trying this place. She didn't even say hello and told me "I can't do a phone order it's way too busy" I explained to her that I was in earlier and asked her if I could and that I lived kinda far away. She was very rude and told me that they were too busy and it would be at least 45 minutes and hung up. If your customer service is that bad on the phone....I would hate to think how I would be treated in person. You lost a potential new customer. read more

This place is classic. I am a local so I am prejudiced just a bit. The interior is amazing with wood and knotty pine everywhere. Elk mounts are impressive. Everything a small town country watering hole should be. Killer micros on tap, a full bar and Broasted Chicken that is definitely worth the wait - Everything on the menu is worth trying - made fresh. The outside does not do it justice. You must stop and have this experience. The best place for you to pull over on your way home from a visit at the Oregon Coast. Moved to the area and fell in love with the food and the staff. After a few months they became so comfortable with us that they forgot the key to return business is customer service.
