You order at the desk in the back and then take your tray of food to sit down. At 4PM on a Thursday, no problem. Several takeout orders were observed. I had the meat combo (your choice) that consisted of a spare rib, a baby back rib, two slices of brisket and a hot link. Two sides with potato salad and beans. By the way, the owner offered me a small sample of the pulled pork. So here is the verdict: Overall I sensed the meat had been smoked earlier in the week. Both (large sized) ribs looked dry but turned out meaty and flavorful. Used two sauces to moisten the meats. The brisket was a lithe fatty and dry. The worse if the bunch was a very, very dry sausage. I couldn't finish it. The beans had the right amount of brown sugar and molasses. The potato salad was very good with yellow mustard and dill. So all said, I'm torn. Service was friendly and good. Some of the food was just right while parts were not. Will I come back, probably not. I have too many highly-rated and favorite BBQ places in my collections. But, if you're local, you may want to give Big Stuff a try.

The owner also doesn't keep track of customer payments, which leads to disorganization. My mother-in-law dealt with Big Stuff BBQ directly, but I was aware of the lack of communication months before the event and only recently found out what happened on the day-of and how the owner was combative and privately harassed my mother-in-law (via text) a few days after. In short, communication was so bad that they never answered texts, calls, or voicemails, so we had to walk in anytime we needed to contact them. In the beginning, chafing dishes were said to be available to borrow, but later we were told we had to pay for them. We were fine with paying, but the owner/staff was very wishy-washy about whether or not they were available, so we paid for our own somewhere else. On the day of the wedding, my mother-in-law's friend showed up to pick up the food and was charged for the chafing dishes and for the $520 that my mother-in-law had already paid three weeks before, for a total of $700. Then the owner had the nerve to ask my mother-in-law to show proof that she had paid, even though she was at her son's wedding. Mother In Law left an average negative google review a few days ago and when the owner saw it he started harassing her privately claiming she is "bashing" and his restaurant online. Took zero responsibility and said we were the issue because we "kept trying to get something for nothing" even though we already paid..

I ordered delivery from Bill & Tim's tonight and was incredibly disappointed. One major issue was…read morethat only half of my order arrived. One bag had my name on it, the other had someone else's name on it. This could have been the fault of the driver or the restaurant, both should have been more vigilant. I ordered a 2-meat plate for myself with mac and cheese and onion rings as the side. My partner got the BBQ chicken sandwich with truffle fries and two pieces of Texas toast. Only my food arrived, split across two bags (one of which didn't even have my name on it). My partner's food was completely missing and in its place were sweet potato fries. He had to order something else and wait for it to come. The sweet potato fries were cold and mushy and didn't have much flavor. My plate was packed in the bag vertically so that all of the grease was leaking out into the bag while it was en route. This meant that the entire container, inside and out, was absolutely covered in grease. I could not touch any part of my meal without getting covered in a thick layer of grease. You might think with all that mess that there wouldn't be any grease left for the food, but you'd be wrong! All of my food was very greasy. The mac and cheese was cold and congealed, like it had been sitting all day. The chicken was alright, but greasy. The brisket was shredded (who shreds brisket????) and VERY greasy. The Texas toast was the greasiest of them all. Every bite I took had a significant amount of grease squishing out into my mouth. It was truly foul. The onion rings were also greasy but that is a bit more forgivable since they are fried. I was really looking forward to a nice BBQ dinner at home after a long, tiring day. Alas, I'm left with a greasy life and a headache. Unless you want health issues from all the grease, skip this place and try a different local BBQ joint.

Plate is a food cart, they split their time between a couple of North Bend/Coos Bay locations. I only knew they were at the Mill Casino so that is where I aimed to catch them. Located on the wooden boardwalk overlooking the bay, Plate comes with a view that cannot be beat. They offer an array of entrees that vary from a Mexican theme with tacos to a Hawaiian theme with macaroni salad that definitely is island inspired. They have good old straight barbecue as well. We tried a variety of items from tacos to chicken to pulled pork. For sides we tried the mac salad and pit beans. Everything was excellently prepared and they were generous with the serving sizes. My only critique was I thought the beans could have been flavored a little better. They were good, but some pulled pork in the beans could go a long way to upping the flavor. They weren't bad, just weren't special. Eating on the boardwalk overlooking the bay was a great experience. It really added an atmosphere you don't often associate with a barbecue joint. I make several trips to Coos Bay a year usually and this will continue to be a must visit for me and my family.
