We spent one night in the Roundhouse in one of the rooms overlooking the waterfall. The layout is lovely, and we were at first very impressed with the look. However, the room itself is a bit rundown and the walls were dirty. There was a piece of ceiling peeling by the bed. My husband also killed 3 different insects in the room--some flying bug, a weird large bug on the curtain, and a large ant. We requested 2 more pillows and they came without pillow cases. I had to call again to get them (I will say the front desk was very responsive and also we ended up getting 4 extra pillows. We really cocoon ourselves when we sleep!). read more

Just completed a 2 night stay here. The views are spectacular and the hotel for the most part checks the box. However the power went out for almost the entire day. I get it, it happens. Didn't help that it was freezing out making the room temp very cold to put it politely. However the main issue was 0 courtesy from the staff. I called the front desk multiple times throughout the day and early evening to check if power was back so we could go back to hotel (me and wife were just trying to have a relaxing day at hotel). Simple message as "Can you please give us a courtesy call back letting us know if power is back on or not, we would greatly appreciate it." Never received a call back which was greatly disappointing. So we spent who knows how much money for a day/night at hotel and spent about 1 hour there excluding sleeping. Again I understand only so much one can do about power but the staff just didn't seem to really care about the guests (or at least us). read more

I complained twice and the art school drop out at the front desk smirked and told me he couldn't do anything and the GM wasn't in. Room was very small without any comfortable chair to sit in and the bed was too low to the floor. We took a short getaway to Beacon, mainly to visit Dia with our kids. The Roundhouse was one of the few places that would accommodate kids. It is on a neat campus with a waterfall and the rooms appeared modern. However, rooms for 4 seemed too small. One of the beds is right up against the bathroom door and we also kept hitting our knees on the oddly shaped bed frame corners that jut out. They never seemed to leave enough toiletries for 4 people and we had to keep asking for shampoo and towels. Same with the morning breakfast - they never left enough cream cheese or yogurt for 4 people and we had to walk to the front desk to ask. The front desk button on the phone is left in busy (so weird). The restaurant was convenient after a 3 hour drive, but the food was overpriced for what it was and the wine selection was slim and whatever I ordered tasted like rubbing alcohol. But a definite plus is that it is in such a great location with a nice walk along Main Street to Dia. read more

Currently visiting Beacon and staying at the Roundhouse. The hotel is meh, very industrial looking but in the heart of town. Rooms are clean but sparse. No bars of soap but a soap dish. No plastic cups to use in the bathroom have to use glass. Kinda dangerous. Heed my warning! Do no arrive on a Tuesday, Wednesday and maybe even Thursday. Dia Museum....closed T, W and Th Most shops on Main Street .......closed on T Dennings Point Distillery......closed T, W, Th Town Crier...closed M, T,W Story Drive in Movie.....closed for renovations You get the idea. Room was dirty upon check in. Had to wait for staff to clean around after a 6 hour drive because they wouldn't wait for us to leave the room (oh no they go home at 4:30 and so yeah they had to clean the room while we were in it getting ready for the rehearsal dinner). Also extremely unprofessional event team who refused to help locate a misplaced item and only upon demanding access, did I find it myself. They took my tie off the chair while I was dancing and chucked it in with the black napkins. They patently lied that they had checked and it was exactly where I told them the item was. The event planner basically didn't want to go through it herself and forced me to go through their soiled napkins. And then when I found it her smug face looked ashen. I was glad she was literally meeting with a couple about hosting their event. I am thrilled they witnessed the service they can expect. Rooms have terrible shower heads, farm doors on bathroom so you can hear everything and not even an exhaust fan (have fun taking a dump with your significant other and no fan and no door that closes. And climate control is a noisy in unit behemoth. Wi-Fi is weak and spotty even in-room. They won't even answer the phone, you have to walk to the front desk and see two jerks chatting away ignoring the phones. This is not a 4 star hotel. Not by any stretch of the imagination. This is our second time in Beacon and we love it here. The last time we visited, it was just a day trip and thought the Roundhouse hotel looked nice from the outside. During this visit, we stayed 2 nights. Given that this is the hotel in Beacon, they were fully booked for Monday and Tuesday night stay. Our room was just okay. It's clean and modern looking. But when looking closely, the paint is chipped everywhere on the walls, the outlets are oddly placed, and you can tell that the hotel was built on the cheap side. There is no housekeeping and you have to take out your own trash and make your own bed. The room and the bathroom are dark and lacks lighting. The bathroom sliding door fees like it is about to come off the henges and no sound proofing. They do provide complimentary muffins and bagels which they leave outside your door at 8am each day. They also provide complimentary fresh orange juice and yogurt (help yourself) in the fridge which is nice. Next time, I would stay at one of the chain hotels in Fishkill which is just 10-15 mins away at a fraction of the cost. read more

Wow rough reviews on here! Okay let's talk about the hotel and the restaurant separately. Hotel: As mentioned, the hotel and the rooms are very pretty and modern. The beds are super comfortable and the windows offer lovely natural light. At night, the blinds helped us sleep comfortably and late! I agree that there are some signs of wear -- cracks in the paint, tile -- but nothing that can't be fixed. The team at the first desk were endlessly pleasant and helpful. Our biggest complaint is that due to covid there is no housekeeping service and so you're constantly looking for ice, glasses, coffee pods, etc. A solvable problem, I would think. Restaurant: So great! Our waiter, Rob, was so kind and attentive. The view was lovely by the waterfall. The food was decent, though I admit I've had better. The sangria was great and it's easy to take food/drinks back to the rooms. Definitely worth a visit! read more

I just recently booked a stay post Covid-19 because we generally love Beacon. I have a service animal I have for a handicap in which I shared all the paperwork with at the front desk. As I tried to sit near the waterfall in their newly opened OUTDOOR BBQ area, I was harassed by the GM, Barry, who threatened that if my dog barked once, we would be kicked out. Nothing happened, and Barry kicked me out of the restaurant anyway stating the dog was being "disruptive". He then followed me to the other OUTDOOR property to threathen me further. I spoke with all the staff and another manager Kate who was lovely, and made us feel welcome. All the staff felt sorry and made me aware that this was a newly hired (post-Covid) inexperienced general manager and was very apologetic and sweet and took care of us. Afterwards I emailed the other partner GM, Antonio, (son of the owner) who showed no remorse, was unapologetic, threatened me with a cleaning fee and made poor attempts at stating the law. This hotel has exhibited a behavior that is the furthest away from hospitable and by far the worst, most terrifying experience I've ever had. I DO NOT recommend staying here as this behavior is directly tied to senior levels of management and ownership of the hotel. I've attached a picture of the service dog which they claimed to be disruptive and unruly just so you can see what they were dealing with and let you be the judge. read more

The room: We booked two nights in a deluxe room with a view. We change our minds at the last minute and upgraded to the pent house, and wow we were glad we did! The pent house was spectacular the size of a NYC small apartment with a living space and full stocked mini bar. The bathroom had 3 shower heads and a beautiful sky light. The whole place was filled with natural sunlight which gave the room the zen feeling. My favorite thing in the room was the soaking tub and I especially enjoyed the out side private patio with breathtaking views of the waterfalls. The whole place has an industrial look decorated with beautiful mid century modern decor. (Looked like an west elm studio) The restaurant was lovely we enjoyed the complementary hot breakfast. We had the fresh scramble eggs, bacon and home fries. The food was incredible!fresh eggs and bacon! very Farm to table style. By the way my boyfriend and I were obsessed with the bread pudding... if you're a bread pudding enthusiast like us you must try! It's a total game changer lol. We loved having lunch and cocktails at the patio after our afternoon hike. I had the lobster roll and my boyfriend had the jerk chicken with fried pineapple rice bowl and they were both fantastic! Overall I had an amazing experience at this beautiful boutique hotel. I would recommend 1,000 times over! The service was great and everyone we interacted with was pleasant. the property is beautiful and well maintained. I would have gave it all 5 stars but there's was One small negative thing. My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway and booked a room here on a Saturday night. It was $389 plus taxes and fees bringing it upward of $420 per night. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. The mattress is one of the worse I've ever experienced while staying in a hotel. It's a cheap spring mattress that kept me awake all night, tossing and turning as springs jabbed me in the back. The pillows have some kind of anti theft device on them. It looked like a plastic store sensor, so every so often i would turn onto the wrong part of the pillow and would literally hit me in the face. The shower water didn't get hot. I had it turned up to the hottest setting and it was just warm. We were walking around outside and it was the first cold night of the year, so when we got back to the room we were freezing. A hot shower would have been nice but instead i felt cold still after taking one. It was around 11pm when we got back to the hotel. We asked for water and were told the bar was closed for a private event and the restaurant was already closed so we could walk to the corner store to buy some. We literally couldn't get water. For a hotel that was literally close to $500 per night, this place lacks in every category. They are clearly taking advantage of being one of the only hotels in town. If you're looking to escape the city, get some much needed calm, and enjoy beautiful views of Beacon Falls and the natural surroundings, this is the place. The hotel has certainly come a long way from previous reviews. While it's not by any means terrible, it was missing something. It's more of a weekend getaway hot spot rather than a place to visit during off peak times. But overall it had a modern feel that was clean, quiet and relaxing with great service and a hospitable, friendly staff. Plus, the restoration job from factory to boutique hotel is a remarkable feat alone. What they've done with the space is incredible! We decided to stay during off-peak hours - Monday through Wednesday. If you want a lower room rate $229/night and not have to deal with weekend crowds, this is the ideal time to come. And with access to many restaurants and little shops on Main Street, what more could you ask for?! During the day, the town is alive and happening, with most cafes and restaurants open till around 3pm and then reopening for dinner around 5pm. At night though, it's a different story and this isn't the case during weekends. Having traveled to Beacon many times in the past, the town is sort of dead past 9pm, with the exception of a few bars. And I was disappointed that many of the galleries were closed. Ok, back to the hotel. PROS: -Clean, spacious, quiet -Minimalist Look with sleek, modern design and plenty of outdoor light through the windows. -Wonderful customer service -Gorgeous views of Main Street, the Falls and surrounding hills. -Great Shower! -Stocked minibar with delicious wine options and complimentary water. -Complimentary Breakfast included from 8am-10am (and it's beyond continental) -Variety of room options at reasonable rates during the week. CONS: -The Roundhouse Restaurant (indoor portion) isn't open during the week, only on weekends and indoors only for hotel guests during breakfast hours. This presents an issue for two reasons: 1.) While the patio is open and facing the gorgeous falls, there is a major insect issue here which is distracting to say the least and nobody seems to mention in previous reviews. And by that, I mean Wasps, Yellow Jackets and Flies constantly bombarding your meal which is kinda hard to ignore. I'm allergic and there should be a sign out front mentioning this. We had to leave early after drinks and apps. I felt bad but our waitress was kind and seemed to understand. 2.) It is an inconvenience to people who pay top dollar and expect value during their stay. While this is by no means a Kimpton or Four Seasons, most hotels operate this way with a signature restaurant partner. If you're going to make an experience memorable, especially for such a high-end place, give your guests access to FOOD options that aren't a long walk and don't just include the local package store. Yes, there are other restaurants in the area but they close early during the week and sometimes you just don't want to walk all the way down Main Street late at night to the nearest decent place. Luckily, Melzingah Tap House is right across Main and was amazing! - Limited Food Options. As mentioned before, there was no restaurant menu present so we couldn't order room service. During our last night, the local package store was our only option with most restaurants closed and the town shuts down. Slim Jims and Jalapeño Doritos seemed to do the trick. But really?! -Bathroom is a bit off design wise. Shower pressure is lovely, but there seemed to be some leaks with water trickling down the corners of the faux wood floor. And the toilet wasn't installed properly (almost on an angle) - it felt like it was going to tip over sometimes. After all, not every Industrial Age factory can be transformed into a perfect luxury retreat. -Not the most comfortable bedding. -Walls are paper thin. We actually thought our noisy upstairs neighbors had travelled with us from the city. You can hear chattering and clonking of feet all through the night. Overall, this hotel is the ideal getaway spot for city dwellers however it could use some adjustments and/or improvements to add value for each guest. Review is from a stay in September 2016. I love boutique hotels and this was on the list. When I randomly tried to book, it was always sold out. Probably because of wedding blocks. Well, then my friend got married here. It was $260 for a Mill Deluxe room, King bed. This is in the building in the back. For the quality of the room and lack of hospitality/warmness at the front desk or anywhere, I would NOT recommend this place. I think you would find more soul in any chain hotel (I rather stay elsewhere even if it's not in Beacon and drive to Beacon to visit). The decor is very industrial, rustic, and minimalist. The bed frame is super dangerous and sharp. The shower was good. Bathroom barely had any space for you to put anything. The breakfast was nothing to write home about in terms of hotel breakfasts. I think there were some warm items and lots of carbs/cold stuff. The space overlooking the waterfall was nice -- but there are many more exciting waterfalls out there. Don't go just for the waterfall. Parking was really confusing - they need more signs. Tons of parking in the back. As for the wedding, my friend had a beautiful wedding. Food was good. I'm glad I got to cross this hotel off of my imaginary list. The funny thing is a week later multiple friends noted they had bug bites at their ankles. Good location. Room was clean overall; walls need a fresh coat of paint. Scuff marks on all the walls in the bedroom area. Room phone and tv remote needed wiping down. Tv was a smart tv, but trying to cast from our iPhone to the tv with the app didn't work. In fact, our ability to view regular cable tv would keep getting interrupted by other smart phone users nearby who were also trying to cast to their tvs but for some reason their phones kept connecting to our tv instead of theirs. I assume that means that when we attempted to cast our iPhone, it was connecting someone else's tv, which is why we couldn't cast successfully. We called the front desk both evenings during our stay for help with the tv issue, but we just got sent to voicemail. We had a feeling that there may not have been a front desk contact during certain hours. The Roundhouse Hotel is in the heart of beacon New York which is a delightful place to spend time. A friendly and interesting town. We enjoyed our visit immensely. We decided to stay at the Roundhouse due to it's central location and walking distance to everything in beacon. We anticipated the room we reserved (with a view of the falls) and did not mind paying a premium ($439 / night) to have a large room with the falls view. We had a delightful conversation with the gentleman as we booked the room months prior to our visit. Disappointment abounded when we checked in and walked to our basement room. very small, no falls view, and some minor poor maintenance. We were sure there was a mistake and we kindly called the desk to explain we had reserved and paid for a two room suite with a falls view. The response? - "Sorry there is nothing I can do". We none the less had a good weekend and grew accustomed to our basement dwelling. I would be fine paying $150.00. The restaurant was great and the staff as good as they could be. Update - The General Manager responded to an email I sent. The Manager was apologetic and offered the hotel perspective while understanding our disappointment. We were able to snag a last minute reservation for our getaway. It was extremely costly ($349 + tax and surcharges) but it was supposed to be an amazing place. We were amazed alright. Yes, the room was different from most hotels. The ceilings were lofty and and it was a minimalist vibe. Minimalist for sure. There was a small desk and a tall bureau. They were the only surfaces available for our stuff besides a small table between the beds. The bathroom sink, attached to the wall, had zero surface. There was a small shelf over the toilet, several feet from the sink, maybe 4 x12" for toiletries, makeup etc. The air conditioning was controlled by a unit on the wall that noisily turned on and off periodically through the night, alternating between freezing and tropic. The room was very humid and the sheets felt damp as were the inside of my shoes in the morning. Sorry to say it was disappointing. That said we did have a lovely dinner on the patio of the restaurant before we checked in. The hotel has a great location and free self-parking. read more

I don't like being tricked into paying more for something. I paid $100 more for a room with a "waterfall" view. What I got was a view of the train tracks and the road, and if I looked out the window at an angle I could catch the waterfall. The hotel is also in need of some renovations. The fixtures are coming out of the walls in the bathrooms. The walls are also paper thin. You can hear every word your neighbors say and it's no different with the hallway. Despite the above, the hotel is in a great location on the river overlooking to falls and the service is fine. The restaurant also happens to be good. I wanted this place to be a regular weekend getaway spot but after our disappointing experience i don't think we'll be going back. read more

Over priced for what you get- which isn't much. They deliver you a bag of breakfast which is two mini bagels and two muffins. They have no other food to offer beyond that at anytime. No room service, vending machines, anything. So when you come back from a night of dancing and drinking at a wedding and want something to eat- forget it. The rooms design is great-very modern. However, the bathroom had mold on the ceiling. And the shower design is super flawed. The water goes all over the floor in the bathroom. There's no door to close. Just a half piece of glass and you walk in. The only good thing I have to say is the bed and blankets were really comfortable. I have no idea why this room is worth $350+ a night. Also the room has terrible lighting. Super dark and no lights near the full length mirror so you can't see yourself anyways. Also the food for dinner at the wedding- terrible. Over cooked filet mignon. I wish I didn't hold out for dinner and enjoyed the cocktail hour food more because that was al delicious. read more

There were a few things that were more three star. Certainly, if you are expecting a laundry service, even a small gym, bell service, room service... you will be disappointed. If you were following a "star system" it would be a three star and not a four star, I think. (But they DO kind of charge 4-star prices...) Pro's -The Keurig in the room is nice -Super nice kids at the front desk. -The place has this great Modern-Industrial thing going. -It was clean and the bed was comfortable. -We had a pretty nice view of the waterfall. -Lots of hanger space and hangers. Con's -It's not being maintained and upgraded to keep up with nicer places in the world.. For example, no stopper in the sink so you could easily lose things down the drain. (There was one but it apparently disappeared and was not replaced.), no USB outlets anywhere. (Not mandatory but nice if you are paying $350 per night for a place.) The metal-clad doors were kinda modern once but are now just kinda stained with lots of hand prints. -Almost zero horizontal space in the bathroom (and very little in the rest of the room)... and it's a shame because the rooms are plenty big enough to add more places to spread your stuff. . -Dimly lit rooms. -No safe in room. -If you are counting on breakfast in the restaurant, it's not served until 8 and even then it seems they are not quite ready even at 8. Other smaller issues... When I ask if you have a gym, you don't need to look at me like I'm some weirdo from the city, shake your head and gesture outside to the beautiful scenery and says "There's your gym". A simple "no, I'm sorry, we don't." Or, "no, but there is one right around the corner and here's their card." Hell, maybe you've even contacted them and worked out a deal for your guests. (It seems there actually IS one right around the corner.) Same deal with the Laundry... "Do you guys have a laundry service?" ... The day manager just shakes her head like I'm crazy and says "There's one down the street. Here's a card." Well, it turns out the Laundry service was AWESOME but I had to figure it out, walk by the laundromat twice, make a couple of phone calls and, in general, figure out "the system"... it would have been SO easy to say, "We don't have a laundry service but Terry across the way will PU and deliver or, for $5, we will run it over there for you." I mean, the Laundromat was literally a baseball throw away and it would be EASY for the hotel to just offer a teensy little bit more guidance or help. (As it turns out, the service delivered my clean clothes to the front desk and the front desk delivered to my room... now do that in reverse and your will have a "laundry service".) But, again, Jean (the day manager and it seems the main or only "adult in the room") is very nice (just bristles a bit at the endless stream of guests asking about the gym and laundry service) but I get the impression has her hands full and could use some help. Jonathan stands out as one of the nicest people at the hotel (and maybe on the entire planet) and really they were all nice and, to be honest, the main reason that they get the fourth star here on Yelp. read more

Beacon is beautiful indeed but needs more hotels. With the Airbnb laws getting more strict, the roundhouse has a monopoly on the town and taking advantage of every last one of us. They make you feel like they care, but in reality, they just want your big city money. My husband and I just stayed there for two nights. "Continental Breakfast" is a joke and was just two muffins in a brown paper bag left outside of your room. No plates, just your napkin on your lap and crumbs everywhere. There were stains all over our carpet. There is no type of space around the sink to put anything, especially if you wear makeup. I had to put the makeup in the bedroom and keep going back and forth to the mirror. There is also no magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door that came off the track every time we closed it. There is a flashing light on the smoke detector on the ceiling that is VERY bright and flashes constantly all night long. There are no usb ports anywhere in the room to charge anything, and only 2 inconveniently located outlets that we could find. The included breakfast is only served for 2 hours. We didn't make it there so no idea how it is. The building where the rooms are is quite a distance away from the building where the lounge and restaurant are located. The view of the falls is amazing, but it cannot be seen from the "lobby" at all. There isn't really a lobby, just a desk. The have no vending machines, so if you run out of water bottles or want a snack, you'll have to go to a store to get some. If you want ice, you have to ask for it, there are no machines available. We visited the lounge for a drink - it is a nice atmosphere but you can't see the falls from most of the seats. We sat at the bar because there were no other chairs available in the lounge. The bartender wasn't very friendly. She didn't say hello, just plopped down menus in front of us. When we ordered the drinks she just made them without saying a word. Definitely not worth the money, you are paying for the location and nothing else. read more

Stayed for our wedding night in the suite below the lounge. Absolutely amazing views of the falls, comfortable platform bed and a soaker tub. Amazing to fall asleep to the sound of the water rushing past your windows. Breakfast in the morning there was really good! Your choice of eggs bacon and a continental breakfast all included. My only advice is to make sure you close the blinds before you undress on the side with the bridge so you don't give passerbys a show! read more

This retrofitted hotel is in an old mill building, overlooking a rigorous waterfall. The sound of roaring water is lovely, a real life sound machine! The exposed structure of the original building in the first floor pairs nicely with the contemporary finishes of the check in, restaurant, and lounge - and talk about a swanky fireside bar! Guest rooms had unique layouts, foyer with coat closet, sleek shower & toilet alcove, off an L shaped room with a desk and bed. Hard wood flooring, modern wood wainscoting, and high ceilings made this space feel luxurious, the chocolates at bedtime helped too. My windows overlooked the falls, lit with blue-ish lights at night. I'd highly recommend springing for the room with a view. One teensy issue was that the complimentary continental breakfast starting at 7 must have started much later. When we went down at 7 there was nothing set up. No biggie, we had fantastic bagels down Main St at the Beacon Bagel. Location is key, this hotel is a quick 2 min walk or drive to Beacon's Main St. It's also a close drive away from Dia: Beacon and Storm King Art Center. Can't wait until my next stay! If driving the private lot parking is just past the building across the falls. read more

A pricey motel. Drab, dark room about 50 feet from the entrance, window was directly on the entrance and parking lot. So if you want to go to the country and look at a field of cars and tarmac, then this dive is for you! What an unbelievable rip-off. Management could not care less about their guests. read more

A hotel has to have 2 things ... location and the other a plan and sense of style/look that somewhat matches the price. For over $400 a night I should have a great view. And I did I also should have A real bed, not a platform bed. Shelve space in my bathroom A little bit more furniture than a chair and bed, And this is the kicker...windows that open,,,all of this was lacking at this over priced attempt at a boutique hotel. And please don't ask about how bad the other "B"(breakfast) in the B&B was presented. To say disappointed that's an understatement read more

It has the potential to be an interesting hotel, like the Porches in N. Adams Mass or the Booneville Hotel. The concept of recovering and restoring the old factory into a hotel is terrific and superficially well executed. The restaurant overlooking the "falls" is nice and the lounge area is particularly appealing. Arrival was very confusing. After checking in they told us to go out the opposite side of the check-in area, walk down steps, cross the driveway we just drove up, go down the sidewalk, cross a bridge and go into the next building, the Roundhouse were our room was. (There are apparently two or more buildings on the campus) Having arrived in the dark I was unfamiliar with the location, and this was challenging to comprehend. It was surprising and a bit annoying to not have parking closer to the room. The room was a decent size, which is why it was puzzling that there wasn't better seating options besides a small table for the desk and a big wide uncomfortable and unwieldy chair. The wall lights aside the bed don't give much light, and especially when one of the bulbs was out. The walls were scuffed and in need of painting. The bathroom was large and stylish. There was a large shower area that looked appealing but was a huge let down because of the crappy shower head. Some more counter space and better towels would also have made for a better experience. For the price, about $250 with tax, a greater attention to the detail is expected. Breakfast was included and it was a fairly good buffet with a decent selection of options. read more

When I think of staying in Beacon I desire nature, beauty and good vibes. This hotel is none of those things. It's an overpriced brick and concrete jungle with staff who feel like they're running a prison, not a pricey hotel. The rooms are large but don't feel clean at all- hair should not be left in a shower drain. Don't waste your money here, check out the Inn and Spa at Beacon hotel, it's gorgeous and sparkly clean. This hotel is super fancy, the turndown service is thorough, the front desk is friendly and helpful, and the view is really nice! There's privacy curtains and blackout curtains which make for a good nights sleep. There's a great sized tv in the room in case you feel like having a day in, which you can virtually connect your phone or computer to. There's in-room continental breakfast (fresh bagels, muffins, fancy yogurts and juice) delivered to your front door every morning that's complimentary! The most important thing (above cleanliness and service) is the sheer convenience and walkability to the main part of town! Every bar, restaurant and mom-and-pop shop are minutes away from the hotel by foot, so there's not much of a need for a car! Would absolutely stay here again. read more

Picked this hotel mostly because of the location which is in a great part of the town. Room was nice with high ceilings and cozy beds, Keurig coffee maker, and mini fridge, and controllable air unit. Liked the little continental breakfast, am not usually a big breakfast eater so the fresh mini bagel, muffin, and orange juice was adequate. Did get brunch in the restaurant and it was good. Had a room in the mill house part which has its own check in. Check in desk staff efficient but cold. Housekeeping non-existent, had asked for it and they never made up the room so we had to ask the front desk for clean towels. Awful and unacceptable for such an expensive place. One morning they delivered a muffin that looked like they stepped on it and thought it was still ok to serve . Room was also dirty, rife with cobwebs and there was actual dirt on one of the beds, and dead bugs around the window. Drawers were dirty too. Also don't like the half shower door, water got all over the place. Really not many places to stay in town so will probably have to stay there again for that only reason. read more

Went to the lounge for lunch with a girlfriend of mine. We ordered the pork ramen and the banh mi sandwich. They split the ramen soup into two bowls for us to share which I thought was really nice of them. The ramen was out of this world . REALLY good. Love that hard boiled egg in it . The sandwich was delish. The view , can we talk about the view ? We were sat next to the window with a view of the waterfall. The atmosphere is just gorgeous . I could stay there all day . read more

Check-in experience was top notch. Room was ready early and we were running early. Woman at the desk was very helpful about the area and ways to pass our time. The hotel is very well done, clean, and professional. We stayed in The Roundhouse, and the room was as good as any we've stayed in. It was tastefully decorated and creatively laid out. The bathroom! Size of a football field! A floor-to-ceiling window looking out on the water was the high point -- worth the price of admission! Water provided a nice white noise and it was the best night's sleep I've had in ages. Bed was comfortable, though I've had two back surgeries in the past year and the height of the bed (mattress on a platform) made it difficult for me to get in and out of bed. More about me than the hotel, but something some may want to consider before booking this room. We barely heard any noise from the other rooms (just some footsteps around breakfast). The decor within the building pays respect to its factory heritage, but is still very clean and pleasing. Elevator was quiet and efficient. EVERYTHING was CLEAN! We were able to walk the length of Main St. from the hotel without any extra effort -- nice little town to see. read more

Website very misleading, you don't get what you pay for at Roundhouse. Overpriced hotel. We had a falls view room which was really a creek view room, barely could see anything and we were far away from the falls so just had a view of the creek below. Room was teeny tiny, and we were on the lower level under the lobby where it was noisy all the time. Patio is decent but nothing to write home about. Some pros [though I won't be back] - complimentary bottles of water, replenished daily with service, and lovely meringues daily with service. Also free wifi but it was very spotty. I'd stay somewhere else. read more
