First visit to Rouxpour today as it's been on my Yelp list for awhile and I have to say, we were blown away! From the quick and friendly service, to the beautiful outdoor ambiance, and most importantly, the drinks and food, which were even more delicious than their presentation. The Rouxpour was gooooood to us! My friend and I truly enjoyed our experience, especially since we had just had a not so good experience at a previous location. When we entered the restaurant we received a greeting, a very warm welcome so that was very much appreciated. We sat at the bar and we were at this location during happy hour which is from 4-7 Monday-Friday. Just enough time to indulge and enjoy! I cannot remember if I received the bartenders name but she was AMAZING! She literally came over and asked us our names, shook our hands and personally addressed us. I thought that was beautiful. She was attentive, engaging, and very friendly. I appreciate outstanding customer service and she provided that and more. We ordered beverages and entrees. The drinks were made with love, as well as the food. The entrees were piping hot and very fresh. I will definitely be visiting this location again, and the plus is that it is close to home. The Rouxpour is located in the heart of Katy's La Centerra shopping center. Having been to the Sugar Land Rouxpour, I like the location of this one much better, especially at night! The layouts are pretty similar and menus pretty much the same, but this time around I got to try more food items such as the Signature Chargrilled and Chargrilled Rockefeller oysters. Also, the gumbo was even better than I remembered (and spicier too)! All in all, I had a great experience here and am looking forward to coming back. read more

Dozen grilled oyster house special, cup of gumbo, salad. That is what my wife and I ordered. Grilled oysters were good but not as good as that of Drago's in Baton Rouge,LA. The gumbo was outstanding. It's a bit on the expensive side but the ambience and service can claim that. read more

I went yesterday to this restaurant and tried it. I don't usually try Cajun restaurants because I am Cajun and have been hugely disappointed. I am so glad I tried this restaurant. EVERYTHING we had was absolutely amazing. I called them today as soon as I got home and spoke to the manager. I asked her to please request upper management place one of their restaurants in Victoria. The closest one is this one in Katy, but Victoria is only 30-45 minutes away. This place made me want to move to Katy, but I can't afford to. LOL! read more

Let me start by saying that this is definitely a breath of fresh air, a Well run NOLA style oyster bar with amazing food. We walk in three young lady's working the door we're absolutely amazing, accommodating and very joyful! Smiles abound. Our Server Sara was amazing she was quick to our table, our drinks from the Bar were spot on, the Wife had the Slurricane and I had a Sazerac both which were perfectly poured and delivered quick. We had Oysters four different kinds of them and all of them were absolutely Devine! Dessert Bread Pudding, WOW absolutely WOW! There isn't enough time in the day for me to go on and on about how this place is so wonderful. Man. I want to give this place more stars. It just wasn't worth it. The food: Signature chargrilled oysters- very small and the Romano cheese quality is in question because it harden up. Not good. Boudin stuffed jalapeños- not bad. I took off the bacon (I know, I'm a strange for not liking bacon!). It came with a cooling cream sauce that I liked. Caesar salad with a side of salmon- salad was... a salad. Salmon was super DRY. Fried Seafood Platter- It's a large portion. Enough to share. I only ate a piece of catfish but it was soggy. The batter fell off. Sigh. Therefore I didn't care to try the fried shrimp or oyster. I ordered a Blueberry Martini to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Left with another sigh. Couldn't taste anything "blueberry" related. They could have humored me with a few fresh blueberries for the price. The service- less than average. I'm guessing they were lean on staff and super busy. Our server didn't bring us any silverware when the appetizers came out so we had to eat with the mini forks served with the oysters. And no napkins. It took her almost 15 minutes to come back around and I had to raise my hand to get her attention. I was with family and didn't want to ask for a manager and cause longer wait times for our food. Yes I said OUR food. My sister in law ordered her steak well done (she's pregnant) and it came out medium rare. My brother ended up eating it because they didn't wanna "complain". Visiting family and they suggested The Rouxpour for dinner as we love New Orleans and Louisiana's fantastic Cajun and creole cuisine. Well!! The Rouxpour did not disappoint. Our waitress Michelle was attentive and well informed. We enjoyed drinks that included bloody Mary, old fashions and margarita! All were amazing. We had raw oysters, classic chargrilled, and tan's mignonette oysters and they were all fresh and absolutely tasty! We had fried green tomatoes, seafood gumbo, Nola BBQ shrimp and Mardi Gras bisque and left feeling like we were actually I'm New Orleans having the most amazing dinner. From my husband- We went to the Katy location to get my gift card that I had won and within a minute we were told that we couldn't be seated because my wife had on a dress that showed maybe an inch of her "midriff". Everything else was covered up and they wouldn't let us sit unless she had a jacket which she didn't have a jacket because it's 105° in Houston Texas so we don't carry jackets around right now. The whole situation was uncomfortable and awkward and made my wife feel horrible and Embarrassed. It really could've been handled very differently and she went to talk to the manager and all he said was that it's the company policy which there's no sign on the door, there's nothing about it anywhere! Someone could've told us that there was a dress code before we showed up for a night out. We dressed up nice. Beth interesting to be treated like we're white trash and dirt meanwhile there's people in your restaurant that are wearing inappropriate slogan T-shirts and bike black shorts and workout clothes... but supposedly your dress code is business casual!! I just thought you should know and when I when to get the gift card no one even knew what I was talking about. They sent us to the bar to get it. They asked me how much it was for and just gave me the card. It was just like wow really. Uncomfortable and rude. People don't deserve to be treated like this in this day and age when there's much bigger problems in the world. As a paying guest, I trusted this establishment to follow Health and Food safety regulations. I observed Rouxpour performed MANY HEALTH VIOLATIONS. Growing up in a family full of healthcare professionals, I witness my BIGGEST FEAR in food handling right here at Rouxpour. REAL TRUTH FACTS: The spread of COVID-19 started in a restaurant from the ventilation. (Someone would cough and it spread to other tables) Disturbing FACTS: Entire staff wearing gloves, and cloth face mask (which is NOT FULL protection) I witnessed Tera, (I believe her name was) processing payments, bussing plates, & glassware from the ONLY couple at bar. (Their was 3 parties at MOST that was in attendance; very EMPTY establishment), all while wearing the EXACT SAME GLOVES! Tera used the EXACT GLOVES from all those activities to reach her hand into a lemon container WITHOUT ANY UTENSILS, while Victoria held the container. This establishment was so empty everyone wanted to do something, beside change their gloves frequently as Tan exclaimed. If this was the best intentions to keeping health in mind, I definitely don't have any interest in ever attending an establishment where the Business Management Tan M. Is in control of running it. Take responsibility and acknowledge the short comings of your food handlers. My Review far from any Slander. It has to be a LIE to be consider Slander Tan. You delivered more slander when you stated "intentionally contributing to spread a global viral pandemic virus"; which was NOT my choice of words, but great observations, if your food handlers "intentionally" DID NOT CHANGE GLOVES, and placed their CONTAMINATED GLOVES into a full tub of lemons, (throughout the day, & in FRONT OF ME, while I'm standing at the bar witnessing EVERY move.) I would say that's pretty intentional. "Traditionally you respond in a private message in a arrange a phone call and remedy the situation". That feature has been turned off personally by me, dealing with RAISTS business owners, GM, & business managers; so I'll much rather YELPers to witness the behavior & response of the establishment. Tan you NEVER mention what you did or plan to do you improve your establishment, instead you wanted to place blame on me. You didn't mention the horrible food deliverance either. Truth be told, I would have done better allowing Rouxpour to keep the contaminant dishes, and just receiving my money back; I would have kept my HEALTH & MY WEALTH. Who wants to PAY TO GET SICK? I felt obligated enough to warn many other trusting guest to be aware of the handling of food from Katy Rouxpour; and that indeed your restaurant have MANY VIOLATIONS, and you provided with your words, that you don't take responsibility, which is your problem NOT mines. People lie, CAMERAS don't. I believe you need to do research prior to responding to a TRUE REVIEW. Your finger pointing deliverance was very tacky, and inaccurate. In other news, I had a conversation with both Victoria and Tera prior to leaving, about how unsanitary that was to reach into a food tub, with bacteria infested gloves. You know what Tan, NOT once did either Victoria or Tera mention any changing of gloves... however they only offered to give me another lemon from the EXACT tub. I guess your leadership set this level of standards and way of thinking. First, the address is generic. You will need to drive around the shopping center to find the restaurant. I ordered a takeout. When I entered the restaurant, I presented my order to one of the four employees just standing around the entrance. Most establishments either have the food near the entrance or a staff member will go get your order. Instead, I was instructed to go to the bar for my order, while the four employees continued their lively discussion. I waited patiently at the bar for 5 minutes before tracking down the bartender to retrieve my food order. Absolutely horrible service. Already frustrated but ready to put the service behind me, things got worse. The fried shrimp were tiny and tasteless, and the gumbo...well, I've had better gumbo out of a can. Just had a dinner here with my boyfriend for my birthday. It was nice that notes were taken on the fact that it was my birthday. The hostess knew it was my birthday, the server knew it was my birthday, and the server went above and beyond. Scott did a wonderful job. I have a crawfish allergy and he was very patient and explaining what different options I would have with this allergy and what things would be best. I don't usually drink so he you know keeps a great suggestions on which drinks to try. I had a Mojito and it was really good. We had to house salads, steak appetizer, deviled eggs, roux pour pasta, filet mignon, and chocolate mousse cake. The house salad was really good, Scott recommended to get the shallot vinaigrette which was a great choice. The steak appetizer was delicious all the meat was cooked to perfection and to request medium rare. The deviled eggs were delightful, I just wish they were more they were only two total eggs. The pasta was extremely creamy and flavorful. Filet mignon was delicious. Finally, the mousse cake was rich, dense, and chocolatey. Scott provided outstanding service with being open to having a conversation whilst him taking care of other tables, being friendly, and overall providing wonderful service. My boyfriend and I have been to the Sugarland location were slightly disappointed in service. I will say I do wish they had more food options or more options for those of us that enjoy their restaurant but aren't seafood eaters. What they served was poor. It was as if they cut out the course center and served that. When I complained they redid it but with substantially the same result. My wife ordered the Salmon. It was served cold and the rice was horrible. Yes we sent it back. The second time the meal was served hot. But why wasn't it served that way to begin with? In a phrase, it was a poor food evening. Drinks came out to the table in less then 5 minutes of order. Placed App and entree order with her and the hostess complimented our picks. I was especially here for oysters. Chargrilled Oysters and Oysters Royal were delicious! I will be ordering these on next visit. The fillet was medium rare as requested and melt in your mouth good. The Rouxpour in Katy is quite possibly the most overrated, overpriced, underwhelming dining location in the city. While the food had some positive moments that kept it out of a one star zone, the hostess was rude, the waiter was inattentive but kind, and, when we had a major issue with the bill, the manager was horrendous. It took two over hours to settle our bill issue, as we had to wait for the general manager (who was not onsite) to reply. He never bothered to reply to our calls and emails while we waited for the hapless manager to try and force us to pay a ridiculous bill. The biggest offender in this scenario is a catering/event manager who inexplicably allowed 15 year old to sign a contract for a large party. Can you say illegal? My children spent many high school semi-formal meals at this location over the past 6 years. We will never return. My children and their friends and their families will never return. Ordered delivery and I could not have been more disappointed. I ordered the fondue appetizer and a catfish po'boy. The po'boy was okay, nothing spectacular, but it was much better than the fondue. Initially the fondue tasted pretty good. I ate about half of it and intended to save the rest for later. The next morning I was so sick to my stomach. I know it was the fondue. I hadn't really eaten anything else the day before, except the po'boy and fondue. I felt absolutely horrible. I couldn't keep anything down and just felt nauseous the entire day. Not sure why or how the fondue made me sick, but I not be eating here again. read more
