More than half of the crawfish were dead before boiling, and some appeared spoiled. This picture is just a sample of what I pulled after deciding to leave a review. This was by far the worst crawfish I have ever received. I recommend dining in at the restaurant if you want better quality, because based on my experience, they do not seem to care about the quality of takeout orders. This is the third time this has happened. The second time, they acknowledged the issue, refunded us, and allowed us to reorder with better quality crawfish. We used to visit frequently and we get the seafood boil and a fried platter. We visited a few days ago and things were not good. The seafood platter was lukewarm and the hush puppies were hard and overcooked. The fish was not seasoned like it usually is. The crawfish and crab were OK but not up to the standards of BBs. BBs is okay. The food is generally good but the service is pretty bad, especially if you're picking up food to go. They always take sooooo long! The new remodel does make the place look nicer & more lively but there isn't any space to wait for your food, there's no To-Go area pick up so you're sort of at the mercy of the bartender or host to remember to get your food. In the meantime, you're awkwardly waiting around people at the bar or those waiting on a table, which can be a long line. We waited at least 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were standing at the hostess stand. (It was vacant when we arrived) I was hoping that was not a sign of service to come. It took your team another 10 minutes to assemble tables for 15 people. I was not hopeful. Our assigned waitesss, Jaz, quickly restored my faith in the coming service experience. We had the sweetest server named Averie! We went for happy hour drinks and appetizers. She was interacting with our group of 14 seniors. She was on it! The staff was helping out by running food and drinks. We asked her to have the music turned down. It was also a little chilly in there. She kept checking back and asking if we needed anything. We go out to eat at least 10 times a month. Just a side note, someone said something that may have hurt her feelings. She ordered what someone in our group pointed at on the menu. We were out and about and decided to have a late lunch. One of our choices was BBs Tex orleans. We were greeted immediately and could sit wherever we wanted. They had signs about construction but this was no issue. Heather was our waitress and she was amazing! She was friendly and super attentive throughout our meal. The place was not crowded. There were about 3 other tables of guests. We were originally doing the triple play with all boiled spicy shrimp but she told us they just changed it so we can't double up. No problem, we chose shrimp, snow crab and sausage. The plate also came with dirty rice. Excellent appetizer but the crab was small. The shrimp was delicious. I ordered shrimp and grits with collards. My husband ordered catfish and my son ordered redfish with etouffee. They were members of the clean plate club. I had leftovers. Heather got us to go boxes and made sure we had plenty of refills. I had nearly a full meal left because I ate a lot of shrimp and the rice. They also brought some chips and beans but I didn't eat it. Heather also made sure I registered for the rewards program and I needed to because I will be back. My family and I waited over an hour for our food to never be served to us. Our server assured us it'll be out soon but as we looked around it seemed like parties that came after us got their crawfish first. Eventually we decided it was enough and to pay for our drinks and leave. When we finally got ahold of our server Devan (or something) and told him he we were leaving..he told us we have to pay our bill first...obviously! I visited this location today, April 6. I ordered 5lbs of crawfish (citrus garlic), monster greens, and water. I visit this location a lot. Out of all the times I have been coming here, I only had one issue earlier in the year. Nothing to the point where I wouldn't have came back. But after today, I will NEVER come back to this location! 1st the food, was great. No complaints. Very flavorful and the temp was very hot. Crawfish was a nice size and wasn't overcooked. Monster greens were prepared good, too. Seasoning was just right. The service, HORRIBLE! I sat in the bar section, along the window to be exact. I sat there for over 10mins and no one even acknowledged me. Both of the bartenders seen me. I was turned facing them and they both looked me dead in the face. More than once I may add. One came out more than once and helped everyone else but me. One couple was by me. He asked if they were ok. Still said nothing to me. I am not the one who pulls the race card. However, I was the only black customer at the time. You're saying something to everyone else, but not me. I definitely felt a way. A white couple came after me and sat at the main bar. Who were kiddy corner from me. After 2,3 mins. You acknowledged them and to give you a moment. But you couldn't acknowledged me and I had BEEN sitting. That is a problem!! So, another waiter who wasnt even working the bar, came to help me. I said I was wondering when someone was going to help me. He told me he wasn't working the area and the bartender sent him over there. I understand people get busy. But if you can stand there, talk, and giggle with other workers and people..you can come and say something to me. I told this waiter this as well. Even if it was to say I am sorry and I will be with you in a moment. But noone said absolutely nothing. I am a very patient person. I feel I was blatantly ignored. I got my food. It took a very long time before anyone even came to see if everything was ok, if I needed anything. After awhile, a young lady came to ask me. I just asked if she could just bring my tab and another water. I did that because who knew when someone was going to come back and say anything to me. Let me just get what I need now. Anyways, in the midst of all this, another black couple came. They sat at the main bar right by the white people he did address. They sat there for so long without anyone saying anything, they left. If it isn't a race thing, fine. I can accept that. However, the service was trash . That was the impression I got, and I do not like how that made me feel. Because of that, I will never come back to this location. It is crazy how the customer is expected to leave a tip with that type of service. I am a very good tipper. But, don't expect anything when your service is trash! The ONLY reason I left any tip at all was because of the nice bus boy who emptied my bowl. Redemption is always possible with restaurants. I have lived in this area for over 4 years and never tried this location. Well on today, I kept hearing a small still voice telling me to give this restaurant a chance. I am originally from New Orleans so when a restaurant considers themselves CAJUN then my antennas are up and ready to judge the level of authenticity. I was really unsure what I wanted to try but my heart kept tugging at a po'boy sandwich. If you know anything about the history of the po'boy sandwich in New Orleans than you know the most important ingredient is the FRENCH BREAD. Several restaurants use Kaiser Rolls, Traditional Bolillo, or Pistolettes. It does not matter how soft the bread is the crunch from Frech Bread mixed with Seafood of choice creates an experience worthy of the palate to escape the feeling of missing home and it's unique cuisine. I am the FIRST to ADMIT...........RUN to this place and order the po'boy sandwich. IT was absolutely mind blowing and extraordinary to my palate. The bread was so fresh. I requested a 1/2 shrimp and 1/2 catfish. Now normally it is half shrimp and oysters. The other surprise was it was shrimp and catfish on the whole sandwich. Chile you talk about HEAVEN ON EARTH. i WAS IMPRESSED and called all of my NEW ORLEANS FOLKS. It was hot, fresh, tasty and stuffed to perfection. Back home we had a restaurant called WE NEVER CLOSE and it was an overstuffed po'boy. Now I know it is hard and expensive to obtain fresh seafood. But it tastes like that caught it in the back of the restaurant straight out of the water because it was fresh and delicious. I need to also add it was really CATFISH and not SWAI. I prefer if restaurants would be honest and let it be my choice if want to eat SWAII instead of CATFISH. I cannot wait to go back. I cannot remember who took my order. The second time the waitress we had was amazing and she told us about the rewards points, which I did not know about from our previous visit and that got me a free half pound of shrimp and one snow crab cluster with my crawfish. We went there for my son's birthday back in March. He wanted crawfish and crab. This place was recommended to us and they had some decent crawfish prices for Wednesday night special I want to say it was like 5 pounds for $30 or something. And the crawfish was really good. They do a good job of cooking them perfectly and they were great sized. And then they season them afterward as well so your hands get covered and all the flavor goodness. We also got some tray that came with snow, crab, and Dungeness crab and shrimp and some pineapple sausage that my husband is now obsessed with. I went back on a Saturday night with my mom and my sister. We went to a movie so it was almost 9 PM when we rolled up. Again the crawfish was amazing. I got 5 pounds for $39 which is still a really good deal compared to most places right now. my sister got some kind of Rockdale redfish (I think it was called) and it was very bland, even the sauce it was just kind of ehhhh. she said the green beans were amazing. She didn't share any of those with me ha ha. my mom ordered the red beans and rice and ended up sending them back. She's not used to having true Cajun style red beans where there's mushed. She likes her beans more like Charro as a broth, but I see she was saying it tasted like it was the bottom of the pot. It came out, and it looked very dry, she said that taste wasn't burnt, but it was what was left in the pot for sure. And we understand it was late so they're not gonna make a fresh red beans and rice for us, but she wasn't impressed with it. However, if crawfish is what you're looking for... Their Crawfish is some of the best! They do have an outdoor patio area. Only about four tables are covered. The rest is open air. And they do have what looks like a private room inside as well. The bathrooms have always been pretty clean. And the staff always been super nice from the time you walk in. Love the new look of the restaurant. Recently remodeled. Improved Bar seating. TV's up give it a sports bar feel. We typically sit at the bar, service is always fantastic. Try the shrimp and grits! The Shrimp Gumbo has a fabulous roux. They give you complementary chips and a red beans/queso dip to try. Big assortment on the build your own boil. Kids tried it with snow crab legs. This past Saturday, I was supposed to meet up with family for an event but I arrived in Katy an hour earlier than expected. So I went to BB's to pass the time and have a quick bite. I was expecting it to be busier for a Saturday but there were only about five tables occupied and a group of people sitting at the bar. This was a plus for me because I didn't have too much time to have to wait. As usual, I made a visit to the ladies room. It was clean. The toilet seat in the stall that I used, looked like it had seen better days! It was beat up and rough looking. When I went to wash my hands, only one of the double sinks were working. There was no sign posted stating that the one sink was out of order. By the time I got back to my table, it wasn't too long afterwards that my server, Heather, came to take my order. She was very friendly and had an upbeat personality. If she didn't want to be at work that day, I couldn't tell! Throughout my visit, she checked on me plenty of times. I never had to wonder where she had wandered off to. I asked for a water and placed my order from the Triple Play menu. Upon bringing the water back, she also presented me with a complimentary appetizer. It was red beans, andouille sausage, queso and pico de gallo served with tortilla chips. It was so good! However, the water had an odd taste but what should I have expected from tap water. My food came out in less than 10 minutes! Talk about quick service! I ordered the boudin link, garlic sausage link and crispy fried shrimp. It all came with a side of dirty rice which I wasn't a big fan of. To me, the rice was barely seasoned; almost bland but had a little pepper. Where the dirty rice failed, the boudin made up for it! Big time! The boudin link was spicy but not overpowering; great flavor! It's the kind of spicy that makes you sniffle but you keep eating because you can't get enough. It was so good that I wanted to eat the skin and all, lol! I got the sausage The Tex-Orleans Way. I think it may have been an Old Bay seasoning rub but I could have done without it. Came here with my fiancé for HRW and we loved our experience! First off we got a warm welcome when we entered the restaurant. It was a bit slow inside so we got a lot of attention. Our service was very attentive to us and we got sat and served right away. We even got the manager come by our table to thank us for stopping by and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer or dessert on our next visit. They had a few TVs around the restaurant playing the football games as well. We both started off with the chicken andouille sausage gumbo bc we were craving a warm soup so badly. The portion was huge! we thought it would be a cup but it was a bowl of gumbo. The roux was slightly runny and not as thick as typical New Orleans style gumbo but still flavored well. Next we got the Cajun empanadas and smoked boudin link. There were so many empanadas!! And their avocado ranch is so good and complements the empanadas well. Then for the main course we got the shrimp and grits, and South American steak. Again the portions are HUUGE! We could not finish everything and took the leftovers home for a 2nd meal. The shrimp and grits were seasoned well and creamy and had a nice zest. Outside skirt steak was well cooked and seasoned without being over done. And we ended our meal with the famous bread pudding and butter cake. The butter cake was sooo decadent and rich. Very heavy dessert but it was amazing! And the bread pudding serving was massive! I was craving some red beans and rice! So I went in to this restaurant to place a togo order after work on Sunday January 5, 2025. Ask the front counter young lady and she said i can place an order at the bar for togo. I went to the bar and sat down with the menu for about 5 minutes. A young lady with dark long hair kept passing by and looking but never stopped to ask me if I needed help. A young man in a loud green shirt pass by me 3 times and never ask me if I had been helped. While looking at the menu I noticed red beans and rice was no longer on the menu. Then I thought well I will just order boudain balls and something else. Still no one has acknowledged me and I had been sitting at the bar for over 13 minutes at this point. So I looked up and no one was still offering me any assistance. This place used to be amazing. Food is way overpriced for the amount you get. In the past a platter was the same price but the portion sizes made up for it.
