Eaten here a few times. The quality of the food in general is quite good. I've eaten a good steak, a good burger, and a good chicken dish. I had a salad with chicken and the salad was nice although the par cooked chicken breast was a little underwhelming. When they have live music it is loud. Why call this restaurant by the same name when it clearly isn't the same place? My family and I have been enjoying Roxy's for 25+ years and we're super excited to try it once it reopened so we went as soon as we could during the soft opening in August. We loved the healthy Mediterranean style food, family friendliness and cool atmosphere. Now that is all gone. I ordered the only original Roxy item available at the time, the falafel burger and it was nothing like the original, almost burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside, not to mention it wasn't wrapped in foil and baked as it was before. I ordered it with the side salad, which was also a bust, as it was clearly pre-made (unlike the old place) The new owner (Paula Vrakas) came up to our table at the end of the meal and asked us how it was, we expressed our disappointment about the lack of original items on the menu, as well as the way my falafel burger was prepared. She explained to us that the old Roxy kitchen had 11 micowaves that that the original one was microwaved. Hmm? How could that be when it was wrapped in foil with the cheese sticking to it? This was our first time eating dinner here. We have been here before to listen to the live music and have drinks, but never dinner. We were pleasantly surprised!!! They have really good, fresh farm to table type food. We had a kale salad, grilled octopus with potatoes, and paella. All were delicious!!! The kitchen split the plates for us, without asking, which was super nice too. We will definitely be back. Great to have The Roxy Back! The artichoker is still amazing and so is much of the other food! Was quite surprised to receive a draft beer that was not a true pint. It was closer to 12.5 or 13 oz. We tripped over Roxy after attempting a couple of other highly recommended, but over-priced & restricted restaurants. Everyone was super nice & very unpretentious. Everything on the menu, including drinks, were super reasonably priced, but delicious, not at all cheap in quality. The best part was the staff, going the extra mile. The Roxy is amazing! I wasn't expecting the jaw drop I had when I walked in and saw this place! The overall feel is classy, but yet laid back diner. We came in expecting to have brunch, and ended up sitting at the bar for over 4 hours! The drinks are amazing and the service is incredible! I had the chicken blt and she had the Rueben, both plates were fantastic! The bartender "Lo" was tons of fun, she was very engaging and attentive, always made sure we were happy and having fun. The live music, (which is a huge plus for this area) was top notch! They seem to have a good set of performers that can play a big array of tunes! There's a patio if you want to bring Fido, and there's plenty of seating inside. The bathrooms are clean and easy on the eyes. The bar even has outlets for phone charging and hooks for bags, which is often overlooked. My only advice I have for this place is maybe more comfortable barstools (since you can end up sitting in them for hours!) I absolutely love this place and we will be back (often) and may be our top choice for brunch, we'll try dinner next! Go check this place out! read more

The Roxy is a great addition to Encinitas! My friends and I decided to check out this new spot for girls night out and we will definitely be back. The drinks were delightful and the food was beyond amazing! From the time we walked through the door and were greeted by the hostess we were well taken care of. Scarlett was very knowledgeable and provide us with great food recommendations. We were not only impressed with how quickly our food came out but also with the quality. The chorizo and corn croquettes were delicious! We loved the shrimp dumplings and squash griddle cakes. Quinn served up incredible libations and I highly recommend the Paloma. Paula and Jeff went out of their way to make it a phenomenal experience. I appreciate the level of customer service they provided from start to finish. We stopped by here because Death by tequila (first choice) had a loud DJ at 5pm. What a blessing, this place was awesome. The live musician was good but too loud. The food and service were very good. I'm so bummed Encinitas is changing so much that I'm a bit critical. Nice to know the owners care about their customers. Disclaimer: I have been going to Roxy with my family to watch our friends play music for 15 years. Loved the warm outdated decor feeling, comfy booths, good service, huge yummy menu - the eggplant sandwich (and the sprouts obsession), not to mention the hummus plate mmm, and the ice cream bar (my son loved that and the artichoker). First experience was lunch....an unimpressive salad and a good burger. Menu was limited and pricey but the happy hour options looked appealing. Environment was sterile and quiet like an abandoned hipster restaurant (cause Encinitas doesn't really have hipsters anymore cause they can't afford it..and I'm not sure why everyone wants to turn their town into every other town). Seating wasn't the most comfy. I like they tried to keep some Roxy, with the name, the music area, and the artochoker, but they probably should have rebranded. Past expectations spawned dissatisfaction for me. The server was excellent tho and the bathroom was awesome. Props to trying. I'll give it a try again. Absolutely delicious! Best pork chop I have ever had. The atmosphere is also fantastic - complimented with live music each night. The staff is also incredibly friendly and accommodating. I live a couple of blocks away and love this place. There is live music nightly and during weekend brunch. The brunch has a bottomless mimosa deal comparable to most places in Encinitas but you also get delicious food and music. The Roxy also has the best old fashioned in town (and I've tried a lot of places). This is a great spot for a date, a nightcap, or a brunch with a large group of friends! read more

This space is the on the main drag in downtown Encinitas. It was happening on a Saturday night! They had great live music which really set the energy and 'fun' vibe. They leave the doors open to provide an indoor outdoor feel. We had a drink at the bar while we waited for a table, which only took about 20 min. The waitress was nice but brought me a glass of wine (not a wine glass mind you - just a glass) that I swear was less than 5 oz - I complained and she said she would "top it off" which she did, making it around...5.2 oz - $9.00. I've been coming here occasionally for over 20 years and almost weekly since the remodel and ownership change. The live music programming has been amazing to say the least, but the food and beverage menu has also had major upgrades. The Roxy burger has to be one of the best burgers on the 101! I ordered it medium and literally could not set it down until it was obliterated into the last little brioche crumb. The onion bacon aioli was a nice layer too. We shot up to Encinitas for a quick walk around, just to experience the vibe. We popped into the Roxy because our friend Roxanne was with us. We were sat at a table being told we had to be out in an hour because a reservation would be coming in. We sat and waited and waited, waiters and waitresses passed us by with not even a hello. After 15 min we got up and left, we let the hostess know that we were leaving, who ironically was chatting at the front with a waitress. They seemed surprised we were leaving, really? Avoid this place, we noticed others around us as frustrated as we were. To top it off they add a surcharge of 5% just for eating there, glad we walked out! This is the second time my husband and I have stopped in here. Last time we have the mussels and steak (both delicious). This time I had the burger, which was ginormous with tasty fries, and my husband had the fried chicken. Service was great and that atmosphere is fun.
