I can't believe how delicious everything was! All of the food is clearly homemade, and they REALLY know what they're doing! The oysters on the half shell were enjoyed by my girlfriend (not my thing), and the bacon wrapped shrimp was really good. The chicken noodle soup was excellent, as was the German chowder (potato soup with sauerkraut and kielbasa). The beef rouladen was excellent. The Jaeger schnitzel was incredible. The potato pancakes and German potato salad were awesome. The red cabbage was quite good. And happy hour beverages we quite the deal. Megan and Frank were great bartenders, and the food service was quite good. I highly recommend stopping in. I know few people outside of this community would try this place, but if you're anywhere close and hungry, STOP IN! read more

We travel to Wisconsin almost every year and we try to eat at the Roxy - I grew up in Oshkosh and my parents always ate there so it's fun to return. We went a few weeks ago and the food was abysmal. My partner got fried perch which came with soup and I had stir fried vegetables with wild rice. The soup was two steps beyond thickened and was like eating library paste. Perch - the reason we stopped - was over-breaded, greasy, and was not fresh. The stir-fry was overcooked vegetables smothered with a cornstarch thickened brown sauce. Remember canned Chinese food from the seventies? It was that over salted brown thick paste. There was a LOT of food served, sadly most of it not good enough to want to eat. read more

Went here for Sunday brunch and we were worried that there wasn't going to be room for us as we were told the place gets packed. While there were a lot of people, the place is huge and we were seated immediately. Our waitress came out and was super friendly and quick to ask us if we'd been there before. As we hadn't, she kind of gave us the rundown of the menu which was greatly appreciated. You can tell this is the type of place that everyone knows what they plan to order before they enter the door. We ended up ordering the Florentine benedict with potato pancakes and the special frittata which was pretty much the Roxy frittata with ham. The eggs on my benedict were done perfectly and my friend was very surprised how well the spaghetti worked in the frittata, but the standout for me was the potato pancakes. They were think like hockey pucks and held a great amount of flavor. The best part was that they didn't even feel super greasy. It's understandable why so many people like this place. Just based off of the breakfast menu, I want to go back. Especially as the prices are very reasonable for a supper club. When traveling through the Oshkosh area, this will be a stop. read more

We were out in Oshkosh visiting our son who was doing an internship this summer and went to have a nice dinner here. My son and I had the prime rib, and my wife had the filet. We were overwhelmed with the amount of food we received for the mere cost of twenty five dollars. I would recommend anyone to go has the chance to stop in and enjoy a good meal. One other thing to add, my wife and I had drinks at the bar prior to sitting and the cost for two drinks blew me away, from what I am accustomed to. read more

Ah-The Wisconsin Supper Club! When you find a good one, it's a thing of beauty and a joy forever. Usually a shit-hole by the side of the road with a gravel parking lot and an abundance of pickup trucks in it. Promises of 32-ounce Brandy Old Fashioneds, Packer memorobilia, and if you're not Republican, dont talk politics. Oh, and stellar food. Common stuff: fish, steaks, burgers and chops, but prepared on point. You'll spend less for dinner and drinks (lotsa drinks) for 4 than you'll leave for a tip at a downtown posh joint dining solo. And if you're wearing a flannel shirt and sweat pants, it won't make a difference. Ah-The Wisconsin Supper Club! The Roxy, here in downtown Oshkosh bucks the stereotype, 'cos it's a nice-looking place, BIG bar on one side and dining room on the other. Based on looks, this is about as far from a Wisco Supper club as one could get, but vis-a-vis culinary considerations, this place is at the top of the mark. I was in Oshkosh, b'gosh, to see my pals the Zombies play the great amphitheatre on the river, a favorite venue of mine-played there m'self a few times! Had some time for dinner, and the Roxy was beckoning. Of course I began with an oversized, expertly executed Brandy Old Fashioned (when in Rome, dontcha know), followed by some beef soup for starters. Here's where the gotcha hits. "Beef Soup" does not sound like a stellar opener, but THIS beef soup was money, bubba! I continued with a "King Filet" with pepper cognac sauce. Totally fabulous. Yeah..."pepper cognac sauce" at a Wisco supper club. Steak was huge, tender and perfectly cooked, and that sauce was fab. I wanted something sweet for afters, and saw a piece of pie come out with a glorious cloud of Whipped Cream. Was a little too full for pie, so I asked the waitress if I could have a bowl of just the whipped cream. "Sure!" was the answer. Did I mention the service was as homey and efficient as could be? And the bill was breathtakingly brief. Ah-The Wisconsin Supper Club! There is culinary nirvana in the small towns of these United States. I ate here for the first time a week ago and was pleasantly surprise. They have the best chicken fingers I've ever tasted. I ordered the Roxy New York and scallops. The scallops were amazing and the steak, don't forget the cognac sauce. Prices are very reasonable, service was good, and I'd recommend this place to anyone. read more

It's a bit of a throwback but couldn't complain. Stopped for Sunday brunch. Interesting building inside and out. Not unattractive but not the most inviting exterior. Interior is somewhat dated but clean and in good repair. Found the previous reviews interesting and they were true to a point; this place has a large fan base with the older (oldest) generation. The menu selections were plentiful and offered something for everyone. Plenty of your basic breakfast items and many options of made-to-order skillets and omelettes. Prices were reasonable. Portion size was generous but the food was underwhelming; decent but not great. Service was good. I'm not sure this would be my first choice when next in Oshkosh looking for breakfast but it's a good option. Just don't have too high of expectations with the food. We might stop back and try dinner some time. read more

Came here to kick off our anniversary weekend up North. Based on the reviews, we thought it was going to be a great way to start the weekend off... well we were wrong. We waited over 40 minutes for a table. Ok, understandable you are busy. We decided to sit at the bar & get for a drink while we waited. While sitting there we struck up a convo with the gentleman next to us. He was told a waitress had to come over to take his order and then waited over 25 minutes. Thinking it was just a fluke we continued to wait. Finally we were seated & ready to order... or so we thought. After being seated we waited another 10 minutes with no waitress checking in on us. After waiting a little while longer we finally left. We had been in the restaurant for over an hour at that point & still hadn't eaten anything. Not a good experience. I am actually saddened it wasn't. The reviews seemed great & maybe they were having an off day. We ended up at a restaurant down the street which ended up being amazing. Bad experience with handicapped parking and how unfriendly the staff was. They don't seem to care if disabled wheelchair people eat there or not. We had reservations but no handicapped parking in lot and since it is the passenger side I can't offload in street parking. Staff couldn't care less when I canceled. Very disappointed. read more

(Don't have her name) The absolute rudest, ignorant person I have met and I am not joking. The owner of this place should know Telling me and my party who was ordering food and cocktails to "relax you all" and "you need to wait". We are not some kids or impolite people for her to speak with us that way. The bar was not full and the lady next to me asked if she was purposely getting ignored or if I was as well. This is my favorite place to visit when I'm home in Oshkosh. Been coming to The Roxy for over 20 years. They never disappoint. All the good is good from breakfast to lunch to dinner to dessert, it's all yummy. If you are craving something specific or need to customize your meal they will work with you and the chef is sure to get it right. The staff is friendly, some waitresses and bartenders have been there as long as, if not longer, I've been coming here. That speaks highly of management and the owner. They have a bar/lounge in the back of the restaurant. Great place to have a before or after dinner drink. Thank you to The Roxy for always being kind to me and my family. Have been coming here for years. Was visiting from Milwaukee and took my mom out for her bday. My husband and mom had the steak and they were both very happy as usual. I had the pan fried scallops and for some reason there was a weird flour coating on them that got soggy when I got them. It was some of the worst scallops I had. I have to say Jolin our waitress was wonderful and spot on. They are very fortunate to have her there. read more

We went to an early Friday night fish fry at the Roxy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on June10, 2022. We were a party of six adults and two children. We were quickly seated and our waitress was very efficient with our dinner order. When serving our entrees, one customer's fish fry was knocked off the plate onto the floor.  There was no offer to replace the unedible lost food. We look forward to eating at the Roxy everytime we vacation in Wisconsin and I am sure this was an isolated incident. Just want Wolfie to be aware of this slip up. read more

Had always been on our list to try. Doesn't have the same supper club feel as others (maybe too bright in the dining area)? We both had steak which was good but lacking flavor. The old fashioned was good. You definitely get a lot of food for the money (soup, salad, fresh bread, and meal). We went to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for a wedding. While we were there I researched Yelp for someplace to go to for dinner. A place called the Roxy Supper club had a very favorable rating. Just a short drive from our hotel we arrived at this Old fashion supper club, which was just bustling with people. Most all of them that we talked to were local residents who have been coming here for years. I just love these type of restaurants and I especially love them when they're crowded because you know the food is going to be great. After about 30 minute wait we were seated at the table. The menu was traditional supper club type food. I had a hard time deciding what to have because it all looked so good. We both had the fillet of beef, and it was amazing! Together with the beef we had loaded baked potatoes and the meal also came with soup which was clam chowder and a small salad. I have to say it was one of the best fillet's I have ever eaten. Normally this piece of meat can be bland, however our steaks were full of flavor. Perfectly cooked, charred on the outside, medium rare on the inside. It was just delicious! If you ever get to Oshkosh this place is a must! If you already live there, chances are you've been there and go back often. Thank you Yelp for another great find! read more

I've heard nothing but great stories about the Roxy so I went there for my birthday. I came in through the back and had a hard time finding the counter to be seated. I watched as employees would pass me and not even acknowledge me. I would up in a side/back room where there were hangers for jackets and a desk for staff, but no one came to speak with me as I stood there waiting. After wandering around for 10 minutes, I made it through the bar where another counter was. I was finally seated in the front, near the kitchen (which later make my clothing smell like burnt food until I washed everything. I ordered a ribeye steak served medium. It was not a busy day whatsoever. I was served what was once a slab of meat, now turned into charcoal. I took a bite thinking maybe I don't know my food (sarcasm) and my suspicions were confirmed. This steak was destroyed beyond repair. I summoned the waitress and showed her, offered her a piece, then sent back my steak. I ended my service at the Roxy and drove to Appleton for a trustworthy restaurant. I get that others like this place and that I've been told this isn't normal, but it's been 4 years now and I still haven't gone back because of this one experience. read more
