I've been coming to the Royce for several years now. My original reviews still holds true. The lower level is an open and relaxed space, with shelves of wine lining the wall. The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, they are always bringing in and offering new wines to try. Over the last few years they have been offering "wine school" classes. They vary from Rose wine class to focused on a specific region, recently we attended the class on Georgian wines. They do offer a few cocktails, including non alcoholic options.

Knowledgeable staff. Great wine selection. We had a few Limoncello Spritzers. They make their own Limoncello - which is dreamy. Relaxed vibe - no kitchen so food options are light. Nice option for date night or indulging solo.

Super cute spot! If you love wine you will be in heaven. Both a retail shop and wine bar! The prices are marked on the bottle so you can just grab whichever one you want off the shelf! They also have cocktails and some beer options if wine isn't your thing. They have some small bites, mainly cheese and charcuterie, as you can expect.

The Royce is beautiful. It is huge with lots of seating options so it is good for any size group. The bar is stocked so cocktails can be made if you don't like wine. The service was great and very friendly staff. The wine and drinks were very good, but a little pricey. I would definitely go back.

This place is an absolute dream. I was in Detroit visiting for a wedding and someone recommended I stop in here for a glass of wine and some yummy snacks. I had so much fun sitting at the bar and conversing with the staff. While I enjoy wine, I don't have a large knowledge of what wine options are out there. The staff made great recommendations and help teach me a little bit about wine. I even had an opportunity to try an orange wine which had been on my list. As someone who does not eat pork, charcuterie is usually not an option. So, I was pleased to see that they offered smoked duck as an option. It was delicious! I paired it with a sheep cheese and some crostini. It was a perfect afternoon.

Came here for a private party. They have a perfect upstairs area to host an event overlooking their main level. I enjoyed their wine selections chosen for this event and many others liked their cocktails. There was a table of delicious appetizers to choose from. I especially liked the flavor and quality of cheeses offered. The service was exceptional and friendly. I would definitely enjoy coming back here.

I'm so glad they're able to open inside now that the Fall chill is upon us. We started on the patio last night, but moved indoors once the wind picked up. Lots of space; warm and inviting. It looks like a library for wine inside. The food, service and sangria were all excellent; we had a charcuterie board and olives and everything tasted so good. It gets a bit pricey, though, beware. We had 2 meats, 2 cheeses and olives, 2 sangrias and the bill with tip was $73. I think I'll shop for wine to take home next time - they have a ton of interesting varieties!

What a perfect place. A friend suggested this place to us a month ago and we found some time to stop in. They have a great tasting menu - for sober October I stuck with the nonalcoholic menu, which featured Rishi teas, CBD seltzers and spicy margaritas, and others. I loved the Rishi tea seltzers - my friend and I tried all three flavors. We ordered the bread and oil, sopressata and truffle brie. The brie was heavenly, the others were also very fresh and tasty. The bartenders and servers were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will be coming back soon!!

My friends and I noticed that they offered Orange wine and couldn't pass the opportunity up to have it.

The inside restaurant area is also beautiful. We wanted to sit inside at the bar, so we waited for some seats to open up. If you want to sit outside, all you have to do is order at the bar and they'll serve your drinks in plastic cups for you to take outside. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.

Nate and I stopped in on our most recent visit to Detroit and had a lovely experience. The space is tucked away but had a surprising amount of outdoor space--we were there in January but I'd love to come back in the summer. We were greeted right away and given a spot near the bar. The menu includes cocktails, lots of wine, and several tasty food options. It was quite busy inside, so it took a bit of time for our server to come over to us, but we weren't in a rush. They had ten cocktails on their list and I tried the bullet proof soul and Nate got the negroni alla perra. The ingredients list for some of the cocktails include things I've never heard of, but at a place like this, I just know it's going to be good. Our drinks were perfectly balanced and very tasty. We also ordered the mortadella sandwich to split--this was delicious. It was pretty messy, but worth it. It was perfectly toasted and full of mortadella. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I would love to try more of the food options. Can't wait to visit again!

There was a 2 top table at the back that we were seated at - we could have sat at the bar also - and it was a great spot. We ordered the tasting menu and WOW, every course was amazing. I'll post pics because the presentation was gorgeous for each item. They have a small cocktail and wine and beer selection, but that was fine. My son got their Shrub Mocktail and I got the Shrub with Sake. Both were delicious and so interesting. I can't pick a favorite item because they were all so good, but the Torched Mackerel and Poached Bosc Pear were tied for #1, followed by the Salmon, Oysters and the crazy good Blood Orange dessert. The shrimp toast was just ok for me, not bad, just not as good as everything else. Additionally the service was outstanding. For a tiny place they did everything right. They explained each course, brought out fresh utensils for every course - YEA! - and made sure we had good pacing. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and enhanced our meal. I really want to come back and try the oysters and some of the tinned items. I'm so excited I found Mink and will be back for sure.

As others have mentioned, seating is somewhat limited, but that only adds to the excellent service and intimate experience. I wish I remembered the names of our server and the manager because they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout the evening. One example of the thoughtful service: I was torn between two white wines, and since my partner ordered one of them, our server offered to bring a small sample of the other so I could compare and choose what I liked best. We also mentioned that we had never tried caviar before but didn't want to commit to a larger portion. They suggested a "bump" for $5 each, walked us through how to enjoy it properly (on the hand, letting it warm slightly), and made the experience feel fun and approachable. We were seated at the bar, which gave us the opportunity to chat more with the server and manager and watch the team prepare dishes for other tables. It genuinely felt like sitting at the chef's table. We both opted for the tasting menu, which changes from time to time, and we were very happy with the selection. We also added the lobster roll, and our server thoughtfully timed it so we could enjoy it alongside the warmer course. The meal began with two different oysters, one topped with caviar, giving us another chance to enjoy it. Next was the shrimp cocktail, which included wasabi--but not in an overpowering way. The flavor was present yet balanced, allowing everything else to shine. The escargot course was especially creative and delicious, paired with basil oil, pepper jelly, and hints of balsamic. While it might sound unusual, the flavors blended beautifully. I expected the pepper jelly to dominate, but it was surprisingly subtle. Next was the potato pavé served with a scallop. The textures were remarkably similar, and the scallop was cooked perfectly. The lobster roll was very good, though I personally found the bread a bit denser than I prefer--I usually like a more buttery, Texas-toast style--but my partner loved it. The turbot followed, accompanied by a chestnut beurre blanc that was incredibly silky and flavorful. It paired wonderfully with the king trumpet mushrooms, black truffle and the fish. The final tasting course was the petit fours: three small cakes--matcha, red velvet, and ginger molasses. They were slightly dense, but still a nice way to end the meal. We also added the house-made basil ice cream (because the basil oil earlier was so good), and that was an excellent decision. Although my birthday had been a few months earlier, once the staff heard we were using a birthday gift card, they surprised me with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and a candle--such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. They also treated us to a small glass of dessert wine. By the end of the night, we knew we had found our new favorite place to celebrate. The overall experience is absolutely worth the price point, and I only wish more places were like Mink. We can't wait to return.

Their food menu is mostly lighter dishes, and while I didn't eat anything, I did watch them bring out the mussels to the couple next to me and they looked really amazing. While I was there I got a chance to meet and talk to the owners and they were really nice and attentive. They have a nice drink menu with a wide choice of wine (obviously) but also some interesting liquor and beer options. Their cocktail program is actually quite unique. If you want to buy bottles though, I think this is where they excel, because they have some really nice bottles available for sale, which of course you can drink on the spot, but they do charge a $20 corkage fee, which is why I knocked them down a star. I can understand if you're bringing your own bottle, but if you're buying the bottle there, I think it's kind of crazy to have that high of a fee. Just my opinion though. Other than that, the experience is great and definitely a great spot to go before or after dinner at Barda or Puma.
