Walk up window to order at Stadt Garden.

I base my review on accessibility and quality of experience. I was blown away by the consideration at this venue. The upstairs is accessible via a small lift and the bathroom is large and has both horizontal and vertical hand rails. Wine prices are reasonable and the Gruner Vetliner we had was delicious. A super cute outdoor garden with some seating inside.

This was a fun stop, while I can neither confirm nor deny the comfort level of sitting outside on the patio for your experience, my visit happened to correspond with one of the most delightful Detroit afternoons; 70 in early November! The patio was so nice, walk up to the open window, make your order, they'll even give you a taste if your unsure as long as they've got an open bottle. Pressed for time, we debated on a bottle or a glass and ultimately went with a bottle. As an added surprise here, they said that if we couldn't finish the bottle, they'd put it back in the fridge and let us go to our reservation and come back for the rest after we were done, how cool! I'd LIKE to say I took them up on this offer, buuuuut... I never made it inside, but they've got an indoor space here also for all those cold and wet weather outings. Love the space, love the atmosphere the guests at the tables around us all seemed friendly and open for a chat. This space is a-ok! and their beer and wine flow as often as you can reasonably partake ;-) Happy Yelping!

This place has the best ambience. Lots of room outdoors for the perfect chill wine and beer spot. Their beverage list is unique and has something for everyone. It feels like going over a friends house with the full atmosphere, string lights, and wonderful people. The staff were great, friendly, and helpful!

Cool spot to drink a beer (or wine or cider). Limited seating though. Will definitely come back!

I loved the ambience, where there are local events like Thursday meetings with the neighbors and Sunday meetings to discuss intellectual topics.

They didn't, but they had another similar Belgian ale that was great, so no complaints there! Our table started with the hand-battered chicken tenders and fried pickles. I really liked the light batter on both, and you could actually taste the beer in the batter, which was awesome. Three of the four of us ordered the Reuben, and the other ordered the Big Ed Burger. First off, all four of us commented on how good the sides were. The fries came out piping hot and crispy, and the house-made chips were honestly some of the best I've ever had. The burger itself had good flavor, but the bun was pretty dry and unappealing. With a better bun, I think it could go from good to great. As for the Reuben--the house specialty--I enjoyed it overall, but there were a couple things holding it back for me. The corned beef itself was 10/10. Super tender, flavorful, and absolutely the star of the sandwich. The bread, however, was very dry and crisp, but it had almost no color or toasted flavor to it. My other issue was the sauerkraut. This is definitely personal preference, but I like kraut with more tang and a little chew--almost "al dente," if we were talking pasta. This was extremely soft and mushy, to the point that there really wasn't any texture left to it. With that corned beef, a tangier kraut with a little bite and better bread would make this a fantastic Reuben. That said, I don't want those critiques to overshadow the experience. We enjoyed our food, and the service was great. Nichole (according to our receipt) was super friendly and took great care of us. I also really love the history and character of Jacoby's. In fact, I just recommended it to a family member today. I'd absolutely come back, and I already have my eye on trying the schnitzel next time!

We stopped in on a Thursday night in January and the kitchen was open late, which was a huge relief. Service was quick and friendly, though a little snarky. I love any place that serves German beer and especially if the beer is clean and the bartenders are knowledgeable. Highly recommend Jacoby's for a late night stop. I'd like to visit during the warmer months now!

Here is the lay of the land: Check in at the little red table in the center of the outdoor courtyard if you want "full service". - which means eating and drinking at a table with wait staff. It is not seat yourself at the outdoor tables, like we originally thought. There is a nice sized bar indoors and seating at the bar is first come first served. We ordered several of the small plate "snacks" and I can tell you that the hummus is not to be missed. It is served with (homemade?) tortilla chips that are absolutely addictive. They have lots of choices for wine, beer, and cocktails. Towards the back entrance of the property, there is a drink truck where you can also order "walkaway" food and drinks. Not entirely sure where you sit with the food/drinks you order, as most of the seating seemed reserved for full service. Additionally, there is a photo booth for pics (long line) and Warda Patisserie is right next door and accessible through a garden walkway.

The inside restaurant area is also beautiful. We wanted to sit inside at the bar, so we waited for some seats to open up. If you want to sit outside, all you have to do is order at the bar and they'll serve your drinks in plastic cups for you to take outside. The rhubarb pie punch was so delicious I had to order it twice! Probably one of my favorite cocktails I've ever had. I also ordered the maurixio cattelan, which tasted like ginger ale. For a snack before dinner, we chose to get the burrata and it was so refreshing. The service was great and our bartender was super friendly! The logo with the little lamb is adorable. I bought one of their wine glasses with their logo on it too for just $10.
