This place was a great stay for a night!! The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and super clean! We loved the restaurant and enjoyed having dinner and drinks on the patio overlooking the beautiful river and all the beautiful birds! That being said, the grounds were a bit smaller than expected so we felt like 1 night was plenty to enjoy the scenery. The pool looked nice but a little on the smaller side so I don't think we would have been occupied by it/the hotel in general for an entire day. All in all, great stay but maybe just for a 1 night experience or if you are in town for other reasons. Also, if I lived nearby I would definitely come for drinks on the patio on the regular! read more

Beware if you are planning an event here. Started with poor communication - took 3+ phone calls and 3+ emails just to get a response. After several productive emails and one in person meeting all was forgiven and we were well on our way to signing contracts. However, while waiting for the final contract that included all the details we discussed, I received an email that they jacked up their prices 500%. From $500/3hrs to $1000/1hr Definitely overpriced for the value, and this does not include tax, 20% gratuity, drinks, food, room block, etc. I explained my frustrations and never heard back so we will be looking elsewhere. Such a shame, it's a cute venue, but I prioritize customer service, transparency, and not wasting my time. read more

The Ruby is a charming hotel with enormous potential, but they're not there yet. When my husband and I booked this hotel for a spring break getaway, we were led to believe that this hotel had a bar and a pool (you know, two things you'd look forward to for spring break). We were informed at check-in that the bar would not be open until the end of the month, and the pool had no water in it. The lady who checked us in assured us that it would be filled the following day, which was fine with us. It was not filled at any point during our stay. Our room (although adorable designed) had an exterior light that flickered like a strobe light, making it difficult to enter the key code to get into our room. While it was fixed the following day, it went back to epilepsy-inducing madness our second day and remained that way for the remainder of our visit. I'm lieu of the no-bar, no-continental breakfast, and no-vending situation, there was complimentary food and drink in our room, but nobody restocked it in the five days we stayed, so we had to buy groceries anyway. Additionally, although our room was cleaned well every day, nobody restocked our toilet paper. We discovered this at 9pm (after the front desk closed, so we had to buy our own toilet paper, too. The hot water heater in our bathroom took a solid fifteen minutes to heat up, and stayed inconsistently warm. The ice machine was empty. Our door handle fell off. All of these things, on their own, wouldn't dampen our experience. Put together, it added up to a below-average experience. All told, this hotel is worth checking out in the future, but we were largely disappointed. The staff was friendly and pleasant, so here's hoping they can iron out the kinks so this gem can be what I believe they intend it to. read more

Nicest cocktail bar in Round Rock. They make martinis to perfection, and their house cocktail menu is solid. They have a cozy interior filled with mid-century modern furniture and has a warm ambience. Outside they have seating areas that overlook Brushy Creek. The main patio out back can be a bit cold on cooler nights as they don't have heaters out there. Also, if Brushy Creek hasn't been flushed by a rain recently and the wind is just right, you can get a hint of a foul odor on occasion. Nothing they can do about it, and they have seating elsewhere around the property if it's too much. My choice whenever I'm craving a martini and don't want to make it at home. read more

The Ruby Bar is such a wonderful place to grab delicious and aesthetically-pleasing drinks and soak in all the good vibes. It's a hidden gem, pun very much intended, tucked closely to downtown Round Rock. I reached out to the manager asking if I could have a small gathering of my friends and they were so helpful and accomodating to what I was looking for. They even made amazing suggestions that made my get-together even better. Also, the bar staff is so friendly and kind -- they really made the day so much brighter and more energetic. Taking one step into the bar you're greeted with lovely decor and a hallway that invites you into the main bar area. The bathrooms are beautiful and spacious, it's hard to stop staring at the wallpaper and some of the art that's in there. At the back, there's an outdoor area that overlooks greenery that is so peaceful. If it's not obvious already, we'll definitely be going back! read more

We stayed here for a girl's staycation. What a great spot to get away. The grounds are lovely, and we enjoyed lounging by the pool all afternoon. The room decor has a warm, contemporary feel. The beds and shower top notch as well. We had craft cocktails at their awesome bar, then wrapped up our stay with complimentary continental breakfast (and great coffee!) on their deck overlooking the river. Staff was great. The bar & drinks were great. The room had a dirty towel hung in the bathroom or maybe it was a stain. Either way I don't feel like it should of been a towel to of made the cut. I found a plastic wrapper on the floor. Plastic wrapper on the floor just comes off as lazy and as if the room wasn't cleaned. When going to bed, I pulled a hair off the bed and joked with my girlfriend that her hair falls everyone and she pointed out that it was a blonde hair. That just gave me bad thoughts and I did not sleep well. Water pressure in the shower blows. Again, the staff were nice & the bar was fun & great but the room, the thing paid for was a little spooky & gross. read more

Tuesday night we went to check out The Ruby based on a recommendation from friends. We were pleased with the atmosphere and layout of this beautiful property. However, we had to sit outside because an extremely loud and crass group was literally screaming in the main bar. We told our very sweet server that we would move because we couldn't hear each other talk with the group taking over the entire room. When the rain started we moved in and our server sweetly offered to move us to the front room near the bathrooms so we could try to enjoy our appetizers and beverages. By the end of the evening I felt extremely unsatisfied and disappointed. We did tell the other server as we signed our bill that we hadn't been able to enjoy the evening at all and he shrugged and walked away. As we left I spoke to the front desk attendant and he was very rude and told me it was really too bad because the public is welcome. We won't go back again... read more

Just stayed here for a night and we had a GREAT time. But the highlight of the stay was the brunch-- Lauryn, Kira, and Sophia were AMAZING. Not only were the brunch items delicious but the cocktails were incredible. A bacon and maple Old Fashioned, a spicy Bloody Mary were the highlights of that part of the morning. HOWEVER, after we committed to staying at the bar (ha!) we asked Lauren to use her imagination to create a drink for us (...I promise this felt less obnoxious than it sounds) and she DELIVERED. Not only did she create a Ruby Baby (notes of grapefruit, St. Germain, and agave) and a creation of her own (Basil, Strawberry, and rhubarb bitters!) but she was so personable and delightful the whole time. Kira and Sophia were also so sweet and cheerful and personable. We will DEFINITELY be back for a happy hour and a staycation read more

We picked this hotel because it was within 4 miles of the event we were attending. No one we knew had heard of this place. Because of COVID, we had no contact check in...all via text and it worked very smoothly. Rooms were very "hip" for lack of a better word with industrial concrete floors. Very comfortable bed and large flat screen TV. The balcony opened onto Brushy Creek with cattle across the creek and beautiful water birds in the water. Very peaceful setting. We will definitely use this hotel again when we are in the area. read more

All I can say is WOW. I would stay at this hotel 100 times over. It's cozy, yet modern. The room is beautiful. The greatest part of the hotel... the staff (especially Mayra!) I can't say enough how accommodating, kind and understanding they were during the craziness that was the power outages in Austin. The bar and restaurant were unfortunately closed due to weather during our stay, but the sweet bar manager whipped up a dinner plate for all the guests and delivered it to our rooms during the cold. Despite the circumstances we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and can't wait to be back again! read more

The Ruby Hotel proved to be a relaxing respite and a comfortable home away from home. We stayed during their soft opening, and enjoyed every bit of our stay. With any new hotel there are bound to be some hiccups, but they were so minor, it honestly did not bother us a bit. The view of the creek from the balconies was incredible, and if you have a chance to catch the sunset, you will realize how heavenly this place truly is. The Ruby really impressed me with its design and service. As another review mentioned, it just recently opened, so there were a few things still waiting to open such as the cocktail bar. However, during my stay the staff were incredibly attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. They offer text as a means of communication, and were always prompt to reply and answer questions. I really love boutique hotels, and the attention to detail in the room design and the beauty of the property stood out to me. One tip I can offer: ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the creek. What a great place! Beautiful trendy boutique hotel on the banks of Brushy Creek. The rooms are very well appointed, very clean, the beds are crazy comfy, and, if you have a creek view room, it is extremely peaceful. Cute little boutique hotel in Round Rock. We stayed here after a wedding to avoid driving home late. We did not get a chance to visit the bar, restaurant or pool. Check in was noisy, there was only one computer and at one point two workers trying to help, us and two others guests check in. One kept talking over the other, it was hard to hear the information we were supposed to be getting. The patios are shared with a metal grate to separate two so we didn't use that either since the guests sharing ours were smokers and were out a lot to smoke. However it was a nice view and we just enjoyed it from inside our room. The room itself was nicely set up and cozy. The temperature was very refreshing walking in and the room didn't have that hotel humidity feel to it. The hotel is two or three blocks from downtown Round Rock. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return when needing to stay in Round Rock. read more

If there is ANY downside at this hotel, it might be lack of elevators - but you are forewarned if you need first floor accommodations, so even that is handled well. Our group of 13 was in town for the Saturday night minor league baseball game at Dell Diamond -- and the hotel was the winner for everyone. Over drinks in the bar on Friday night everyone was comparing rooms -- brilliant colors, modern, minimalist -- and incredibly quiet! The bar is great too. The Ruby Bar is is also the location for the breakfast on weekends, and their chef/cooking staff are on top of their game. The appetizers and plates are like presentations of art sometimes -- and well-seasoned. It's a 39-room property, and the staff treat you like their favorite aunt or uncle coming for a visit. Everyone in our group was impressed by the friendly, warm and respectful staff they met. A special shout-out to Mayda and Kyle, to the fast-moving staff in the bar/restaurant, keeping all the food and drink orders straight and still having time to kibitz with every guest, to the outstanding housekeeping staff who (THANK YOU!!) don't wake you as soon as they arrive each morning with Knock, knock, knock "Housekeeping"! What a pleasant approach. Parking can be tight, so leave the Suburban at home and come in the sedan. Grounds are beautiful, and the walk into the downtown area is easy. The lasting memory will be the staff, the quietness, the delicious food and well-made drinks, the beautiful live oak trees and landscaping -- and like us, knowing you will be returning, as they say, "God willing and the creek don't rise!" read more

This place is magical. We stayed in a gorgeous suite with an amazing "open" shower and relaxing view of Brushy Creek. The site is like no other....it was relaxing and peaceful and I immediately wished that I could stay for a few more nights. We walked a few short blocks to downtown and enjoyed the fun restaurants and bars that Round Rock has to offer. The mattress and pillows made for a very restful sleep. The Ruby Hotel is a hidden gem near downtown Round Rock located in a quiet neighborhood right off Brushy Creek. The nature backdrop was filled with soothing sounds of wildlife which added so much to this classy hotel. We were greeted warmly at the reception area and the lobby was filled with local treats such as Round Rock Donuts and various fresh fruits along with Greek yogurt. The complimentary snacks were the perfect combination of healthy and delicious. Our room was on the upstairs corner with a balcony overlooking Brushy Creek. Both the sunset and sunrise were magical. The room itself was very spacious and the attention to detail was impeccable. Mid-century modern at its finest with all the modern day comforts. The floor to ceiling curtains were an excellent touch. This place is exactly what you would think of when you think of a hotel in Round Rock: quaint, quiet, and stylish. It's right on the river so the seclusion and views are gorgeous. I even love the story they have of "Ruby." Evidently it was a long lost love letter written to "My Dearest Ruby." So you're basically staying inside someone's love letter lost in another time!!! The Ruby Hotel is a cute find and is a great idea for a smaller boutique hotel, however it missed the mark on some details. They had some unplanned renovations that were happening during our stay, so unfortunately we did not get to experience the bar the way we had hoped, but we understand that it was no ones fault and don't hold that against the hotel. They did relocate the bar to a tent outside, and while it was incredibly uncomfortable (very hot and humid) it was nice that they tried to keep it running with an alternative solution. The update that was posted online when we arrived said the relocated bar hours had been temporarily updated to close at 9. This is fine, however the front desk attendant told us it would be closing early at 8 and gave no reason as to why. This information was not posted anywhere at the time (although it seems to be updated on the website now) and we would not have known had we not gone up to the front to ask a few questions about the property when we first arrived. We also were told that the fitness center would only be operational only during the bar hours from 4pm-8pm because the bar was using the fitness center bathrooms due to the renovations. This made no sense, nor was this information posted anywhere either (and still isn't). In addition to this, the information card in our room said the fitness center was open 24 hours, which was not consistent with the normal fitness center hours posted online (9a-6p Sun-Thurs, 9a-10p Fri-Sat). The lack of consistency in the hotel information was very confusing as a guest, and it was difficult to figure out the correct information with how unwelcoming the front desk staff was in person. The customer service seemed great at first with all of the preliminary texts we were sent to ensure an easy check in, but in person, it was not what it seemed. The front desk staff seemed as if they wanted nothing more than to get guests out of their hair and made us feel like we were bothering them whenever we had a question. Lastly, the rooms were clean, although we had an issue with our thermostat in our room. It said that the filter needed replacement, and it also would not adjust when we first arrived. We contacted the front desk as soon as we realized it was not working and they were quick to fix the controls on our end. While that allowed us to adjust the temperature, it certainly was still not working right and was much warmer in the room than what the thermostat was set to. All in all, it was a cute boutique hotel, but left a lot to be desired. We would love to come back and visit if improvements are made, but will be staying elsewhere until that happens. read more

The Ruby Hotel is THE place to stay in Round Rock, Texas - especially if you are looking for an incredible place to hold a welcome party or brunch! We blocked off the entire hotel for our wedding weekend in February of 2020 and it was the perfect "hub" for our group over the weekend. We had the best time having JUST our guests at the hotel and we utilized the bar/patio space for our welcome party on Friday. The space is so unique and perfect for a come-and-go event. The food and drinks are delicious!! We had a musician and a photobooth set-up as well and they were flexible with us on set-up and breakdown time since we had the bar rented for the night. Our guests loved being able to walk to Woodbine Mansion (our wedding venue) and downtown Round Rock! We took photos with our photographers that evening before the wedding as well at the hotel and the rooms are so unique/fun that the pictures have turned out amazing! We loved working with the hotel and team to get everything just right for our welcome party and would definitely do it again! read more

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and found out that a little before we got there, they had experienced a water leak in the main lobby. But even in the midst of the chaos, the staff was friendly and very apologetic and accommodating. Check-in was a breeze and quick. Since we were staying there during their soft opening, they were not a 100% open yet (some rooms were still being maintenanced and the restaurant hadn't opened yet). So we knew there would be a few things not quite finished yet, but our room was not one of them. We had reserved a creek-view king bedroom and it did not disappoint. Off our balcony we had a comfortable seating area to enjoy the breathtaking view of the beautiful Brushy Creek, full of ducks and turtles and other wildlife. For being just outside downtown Round Rock, it was rather quiet and felt like a true oasis. The room offered plenty of space, a very comfortable bed, and modern decor. Overall it was a gorgeous boutique hotel that felt more like you were staying in a friend's/family's guest room rather than a hotel. The hotel offered all the amenities you would want from a hotel with several modern touches, including the use of text to ask the front desk for anything you needed. It was a great stay and we would love to stay again if we are ever in the Round Rock area again! read more
