This is my favorite store to go to when it's time for new running shoes. All the people that work here are very knowledgeable and are great at helping you find the right shoe to fit your running needs. They first put you on a treadmill and videotape the way that you step when you run. Then, depending on how you step, they determine in what area of the foot you need more support and select shoes for you to enhance rather than hinder it. Once you have the shoes on, that make you run around the store and even outside to make sure you feel comfortable in them. The best part is that even once you purchase the shoes and take them out of the store, you have up to a month to return them, used/dirty and all, no questions asked! If you sign up for their email newsletter you will receive monthly mailings on running tips as well as what brand is on sale that month. I always make sure to stop in at Runner's High in October because that is when they have the brand that works best for me, Asics, on sale :) Aside from shoes, Runner's High has a great supply of power bars, gels, powders, and goo to help you get through the longer runs. They also have all different types of running accessories, gear, and even swim gear too. Even though its a positive, I took off 1 star because I always end up leaving here with more than just my shoes and I always end up spending too much money. Shame on me for buying everything, but shame on them for making everything sound so enticing! lol If you're an avid runner or even a novice, I highly recommend coming to this store for your shoes and supplies. Let's talk about customer service and personal attention!! Wow, I have a crush on this place. The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish I would have stopped in sooner. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's nice being a runner and knowing you are being taken care of by other runners....it is kind of a cult I think.... Anyhow, they measure you, assess your tootsies, then have you try on shoes based on their assessment. Every pair I tried on I took for a quick spin on the hamster wheel (a.k.a. treadmill) and they video and evaluate your steppage to help you find the best pair for your running style. LOVE testing my new kicks prior to purchase commitment!! Plus, I love shopping like this....they just bring you items to try on and Voila, perfect shoes for you! I wish all shopping were this easy. They also have a variety of running accessories (hydration belts, gel etc), clothes & they have SALES!!!! Lucky for me they just had a big sale on Asics (on of my fav brands - which goes through the end of October FYI) shoes and apparel. They have a variety of colors and brands of everything. I was looking to replace my brooks, called the store, explained my condition , the gentleman looked up my prior orders , helped in picking the new , color, and size shoe..... then delivered my shoes!!!!! VERY overrated. I went to find running shoes (of course) and the lady that "helped" me was very cold and rude. I did the video running test to analyze my running, and the sales lady seemed bored. When I decided on a pair of shoes that I liked I asked if they had any other colors available. The lady responded coldly "we are not a fashion store." Understandable, but a simple no would have sufficed. As I am in sales myself, I expect more from a retail store in which customer service creates a customer's experience and basically makes or breaks a sale. This experience was not pleasant as she was clearly annoyed when I asked any questions. They lost a sale that day and my future business as well. Very disappointed as I made a far drive (in traffic) to come to this location and leave empty handed. read more

My approach to buying running shoes had always been one of trial-and-error. I'd go to DSW or the Sports Authority, try on a few pairs, pick the pair that seemed to feel the best. This obviously-flawed methodology led me either to shoes that felt like they were jarring my teeth loose as I galloped around in them, or poorly-cushioned shoes that made it feel as if I was running in wet sand. Then, I tried trail-running shoes, which in effect was me signing a peace treaty with my feet, as they tended to work "OK" on the road, with the added utility of being well-suited for the singletrack running I like. I have, however, long wondered if my road running could be vastly improved merely by selecting the right shoe. While the trail shoes "work," I know they are far from ideally suited to pavement-pounding. With this in mind, I finally made it over to The Runner's High. As it was my first time there, my feet were looked at and measured. Then, a pair of Nikes was brought out as a starting point. The saleswoman slid them on my feet, and we went over to the treadmill, where I'd get to run briefly, and have all my running flaws exposed and videotaped, and analyzed in slow-mo. Ugh. It was worse than I thought. I have long known that there is something flawed about the way I run, but what I saw on that video monitor made me cringe. Actually, the saleswoman could tell there was something funky just by watching me walk over to the treadmill. She asked me if I'd ever had knee, ankle, or foot pain. I have not. Which is quite surprising, considering that the monitor showed a couple of very-prominent ankle bones rolling inward so awkwardly and badly, I'm amazed that my feet haven't broken off from the rest of me. It went beyond being cringe-worthy; it made me feel that perhaps I should quit running out of self-preservation. How did I ever run fast like that? And good lord, my legs are ugly - strong, but poorly-shaped! Anyway, I tried a couple more shoes, and settled on a pair of Asics that seemed to best address the problem. They are very cushy, but I can tell that it is going to take me a while to adjust to running in them. Just wearing them while sitting around before my inaugural run, I can tell that my feet are doing something "different." I can only echo the previously expressed sentiments - the service is top notch. Yes, I do think that you will pay a bit more here, but keep in mind, it is a specialty running store - they have shoes and other items that you won't find at big-box stores. They have nice running socks (I bought a pair), quality clothes, paraphernalia, and a large selection of energy gels. It was crowded when I was there, so my trip did take a while....keep that in mind. This might not be the place to bop in and out in 2 minutes. The wait is completely understandable, given the extensive, thorough services provided. read more

After my crazy bestie convinced me to do ING Miami Half Marathon with her I figured I should get some real running shoes to train and race in. I ran track in college and local 5k, 10k but had never been fitted. My crossfit trainer said I should come here. Soon as I walked in and was greeted by Abel I knew it was all good. You couldn't ask for a more super sweet chill knowledgeable person.. omg plus one look at those legs and you know you are dealing with a runner. Can you say "CALVES"? Rawr lol sowwy ;) Anywho he measured my feet, talked about the categories, got me on treadmill, tried different pairs of shoes, socks, offered some tips for the Half. I have a wide foot and needed support so ended up in Brooks Adrenaline. They felt, fit great and was told if they didn't work out I'd have 30 days to exchange for another pair. Sold + yummy socks. I trained and raced ING in them. A little sore after but finished great with the crazy bestie. Love my Brooks. Best shoes and service ever THANKS!!! This is by far the best running store I have ever been to. The prices are reasonable and the clerks are knowledgeable. When you go there, they put you on a treadmill to jog for 20 second, video taping it. Slowing down the recording they watch how you run and can pick the perfect shoe for you...if you need more arch support, or a thicker heel, whatever. Before going there I would get shinsplints anytime I ran...now no problem. read more

The people who work here really care about making sure you have the right shoe with the right fit. Most are physical therapists who are well trained. They also do a gait analysis where you run/or walk on a treadmill with the shoes in question so they can watch and make sure you are in the right shoe. They also tell you to bring your old sneakers so they can determine your stride/and how you place your weight on your feet. This is the only place to trust for proper exercise footwear. read more

When you walk in, you are greeted by one out of the many helpful staff members. Before buying your shoes there, they do a gait analysis. They put in a pair of sneakers, and see how you run on a treadmill. They will video tape your feet so you can see how your foot lands when you run. Then, they match you up with the pair of shoes that match your running style to ensure proper running. They also have a great selection of hydration belts, socks, and other gear to get you up and running (yeah, this pun was totally intended and what?). Plus, the location is pretty sweet. well far from being a great experience, mine was so lame that really I still do not understand what other people have found in this store : 1/ they would have to order my size if I like one of them...! I tried 5 different pairs nothing I would rave about : ogly for once, uncomfortable for two and I was never asked to step on the trade mill....! maybe I should of never told them that I was on a budget LIke not more than $100.00 knowing that really that was not the issue, but I love to see what people reaction are towards a limit ....! well in that case not a good one. I recently started working out and i was in need of some good shoes. A friend recomended this place and me and my boyfriend went in the search of shoe help. We were helped by Byron, the nicest guy ever, he had great advice for our different type of exercise activities. My boyfriend is a runner, me a kind of step and zumba kinda girl. They even put you on the treadmill and analyze how you walk and run, REALLY! the coolest thing. I dont think is necessary for you to be a runner to go to this place and is worth the drive. I liked it so much i just went back with my mom and dad and made them buy shoes. The shoes are the same price as a regular mall shoe store, but you get the personalized treatment which made me change the way i buy shoes forever. Outstanding customer service, that's the reason I make the drive to this location. I live downtown, so it's a stretch for me to drive 20-40 minutes (in traffic) just to buy a pair of shoes, when I have a large selection of running shoe stores near by... But the customer service makes the difference. I have purchased 3 pairs from them so far; I had an issue with the most recent pair, they immediately offered a full refund no questions asked, instead I turned the shoes in for a new pair. I didn't have the box, receipt or anything, but they were able to find my purchase history in their system. They treated me with respect and offered assistance in the future, if I were to need it. Outstanding customer service is rare in Miami. Definitely go check them out, wherever you are, they are worth a visit. read more

What a good experience. Yes, go there for your running shoes. I found a kind of puzzling experience while there. The lady helping me didn't run, and I thought for someone selling me running shoes that was highly strange. Byron, I assume the store manager, was way into the whole experience however. Even though he was helping someone else he still had time to answer my questions. I got to run on the treadmill three times to check my new shoes out and found a pair that worked for me. I am very happy with the whole experience and would tell anyone looking for new shoes or anything to do with running to go here and talk to Byron. I've been here 4-5 times to stock up on jogging clothes but was always disappointed with their selection. I initially ventured down here since it was listed as a CW-X retailer however they do not carry anything from that company. Their selection of sneakers was limited and overpriced. Their selection of running gear is even more limited with the Medium sized items sold out. I was mainly looking for a shirt w/ zippered pocket to hold my key and credit card or even running shorts w/ zippered pockets - they had neither. I would highly recommend FootWorks which has met all my needs for jogging shoes and accessories. read more

I have been a serious runner for about five years now and I have yet to find a great running store in South Florida, UNTIL TODAY. I live near Boca Raton and after being unsatisfied with the running stores in the area I made a trip down to the Runner's High in Miami. Boy do those guys know what they are doing. A wonderfully helpful and friendly woman named Grace greeted me immediately. I had brought a few pairs of old running sneakers with me so she could see the wear on my shoes. My previous knee injury was likely the result of a bad pair of sneakers. She immediately pointed out the flaws in my old shoes, measured my foot, and brought out a pair she thought would better suit me. Unbeknownst to me I have abnormally narrow feet. Like I knew they were narrow and would get AA sneakers but they still weren't narrow enough. The pair of shoes Grace brought me fit unlike any other pair or sneakers I've had before. My foot wasn't moving around as much and they felt supportive in all of the right place without being stiff. I then ran on a treadmill and we were able to test out my gait in the new shoes while we videotaped my foot landings . They were a perfect fit and I am so happy with them! As a college student if I'm going to shell out $100 for running shoes I want them to be great running shoes. I ran in them outside as soon as I got home and my chronic knee pain was far less than usual. I am now confidently on my way to recovery and my long drive through rush hour Miami traffic was certainly worth it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RUNNERS HIGH! Apparently, I have been buying the wrong type of running shoe for the last 12 years. At Runner's High, they film you running on a treadmill and analyze your feet with a camera. It became clear as day that I ran on the inside of my foot when they videotaped me, but I have been buying the same type of running shoe for 12 years, thinking I was an expert. I looked for a new pair of runner's shoes in a half dozen shops last week. There's just no comparison between the level of service you get at Runner's High and the standard Foot Locker or one of the other mall stores. The staff at Runner's High pride themselves on understanding the particular requirements of runners and on taking the time to help each customer get a great fit. At a Foot Locker I had visited about an hour earlier, a sales agent suggested I try a shoe model without even looking at my feet, based on his having found that that model was the most comfortable one he had tried himself. At Runner's High, the sales agent checked out my old shoes, measured my feet, and then put me on the treadmill to examine how I run before making any recommendations. After running on the treadmill for a moment the clerk fitted me with about 15-20 different pairs of shoes until she found the right fit for me. I was surprised to find that the best fit was actually a different size the I had been buying. Sure enough the shoes have been a great fit. My husband and I first heard of this store back in April, when a podiatrist we trust recommended we check out their Hoka One One sneakers and their Brooks selection. When we met Byron, we immediately felt welcomed and that he truly cares about providing us with the best sneakers for our needs. We were measured and we found great shoes that same day. We returned a few weeks later looking for good quality socks for our new running shoes - and again, Byron was very helpful and treated us like family. The following month we brought in our 14 year old to get measured and she got a new pair of running shoes, which she loves and has encouraged her to exercise daily. We have been assisted by other associates as well, such as Jessica and Mauricio, and every time we visit the store we are treated with kindness and respect. This is my absolute favorite place to go and get running shoes and gear. The people working here actually know what they're talking about when it comes to running. They're not just a bunch of punk kids that work at the local Foot Locker or Sports Authority. They actually love running and everything associated with running. I have a problem with pronating and they were able to "diagnose" the problem by having me run on a treadmill and record the way my feet land and then play it back in slow motion to determine the problem. I've never seen any other store go that far to determine what would be the perfect running shoe for you. Because they went that extra mile I can now run further and longer without having shin splints like I did with the wrong shoes. so my workout spree has continued, i even went out to buy new sneakers, bc apparently there are different sneakers for different activities and if you wear the wrong ones you can mess up your feet,knees, etc. who knew, lol. i decided to go to runners high after all the yelp rave reviews (and my parents have also bought their sneakers there). i was immediately greeted by byron who asked a few questions to get a better grip on what i do, how often, etc. he showed me some different styles bc after all i care about cute, not just comfort, what can i say im a girly girl!! they dont let you do anything here. they are all about service!! the measure your feet, they take off your shoes, slip on the new ones, even lace you up. one guy tried to help himself and byron asked him to just keep waiting bc this store was not self service. they also have a treadmill that you can test out the shoes. i didnt do it but there was another girl who seemed very happy with her results. they have monthly sales, so be on the lookout for a good deal!! read more
