Weekends, it can turn into a lovely outdoor wedding venue. They have different stages for the ceremony, the reception, and dinner. They look like they may be equipped to handle a wedding party of 100, maybe more: you're going to have to ask them, since they don't seem to be actively promoting themselves as a wedding venue, at least not on the www. They had pictures of the bride, groom, family and friends put in rustic wooden frames over different parts of the spacious grounds. You can wander from one to the other, ooo and aah, all the while putting more steps on your Fitbit. Not sure if they also did the catering, but the food was pretty good too, even if they don't believe in rare (or even rarer) prime rib - they had great fresh crudites and the nicest cheese spread I've seen in eons at the reception before dinner. Dude made a mean martini for me, too, using a splash of chard in place of dry vermouth - interesting! Everything was out doors though, which carries with it some risks in Florida most of the year. If it's "...hey ho the wind and the rain", it could be a soggy affair. Day of the wedding, gray overcast skies and a forecast of rain threatened to do just that. But prayers were answered: not only did the clouds part, and Apollo decided to shine forth in all his glory, a pair of cranes flew over the lake before the ceremony started. Cranes are a symbol of long life, and a pair of them - that speaks for itself for a wediing. I'm not superstitious, but what's wrong with sending the happy couple off to their new life together with an extra measure of good wishes? p.s. It's hotel food, so everything is overpriced. Quality was actually decent though. We all really loved the breakfast - all the goods like avo toast, chicken sausage and bacon, choco chip pancakes, eggs, etc. There's a kids menu for breakfast too which is nice. Lunch and dinner menus are also large and have lots of delicious seafood options too. We had the seafood pasta at dinner and it was really yummy! My grandma came for lunch and absolutely loved her burger. There are also plenty of kids menu items to choose from. Service at dinner was not great. It took hours to eat. After a while we noticed we hadn't gotten our main, and the server informed us that we needed to tell her we were done with our apps and ready for dinner in order for them to fire it off for the kitchen. Interesting system - and probably good to inform guests about this to avoid waiting for food for hours. In any case! It's really sold for a hotel restaurant and we enjoyed all of our meals here.
