    Side of eggs and bacon

Definitely in the diner genre and casual, the service was friendly and fast and the portions were huge! Pretty much everyone was walking out with to go boxes. The decor is farmhouse and very quaint. A good hearty meal!

    Sloppy joe special!

I arrived to the Rusty Cow around lunchtime and was greeted and seated immediately. I was impressed with the breakfast and lunch options available. However, my server recommended the special of the day, the sloppy joe. (To be honest, I was a bit surprised there wasn't a fish special, given that its a Friday during Lent. However, since I'm not Catholic, its not a big deal to me.) Back to the sloppy joe- it was very good! Not quite as good as my moms sloppy joes, but still pretty darn good! The fries were also good. Very hot, crispy and fresh. Overall, I would recommend the Rusty Cow and will definitely return!

I stopped for lunch and the place was packed. The inside is very quaint and charming. My server came right over and took my order. After a very short wait she brought my lunch, and everything looked good. I ordered the Hot Beef, and it was tender and juicy and very tasty. This was a good meal for the money. I will be back.

We celebrated Veterans Day at Rusty Cow today. My Dad is a Korean War veteran and Rusty Cow offered a special for all Vets a free meal of Chipped Beef AKA as SOS. We'll my Dad surely enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the kind words to my Dad. I know he appreciates it. We also had eggs and ham, eggs and bacon, chicken strips and a Reuben. Everything good as usual. Thank you again for honoring the vets

2 eggs, Kielbasa, home fries, and toast Delicious. Good portion sizes Great service even while it was busy.

We went to The Rusty Cow for a late breakfast recently. We had about a 15 minute wait to get a table, then from the time we ordered till the time we actually got our food was just under an hour. The restaurant was full, but it didn't feel all that busy. More like the people were just camped out for extended periods of time. I saw very few actual tables with food at them. So, we were all clearly waiting for a long time. The owners continually walked around, stopping at tables to talk to patrons, checking on them. As opposed to actually helping out in back of house. I ordered the Turkey Shoot, substitute for Swiss cheese, no onions, with American fries & sour dough toast. My omelet was just okay. It severely needed more cheese in it. The hollandaise sauce was alright, but nothing to get excited about. The American fries were very fresh, but had no seasoning on them. The sour dough toast was actually the best thing on my plate. My partner ordered the country fried steak breakfast, with scrambled eggs, a biscuit, & a side of sausage. He said the eggs were fine, country fried steak was okay, but needed to be crispier. I tried it, the texture was melt in your mouth, but not in a good way. The biscuit tasted freezer burnt, the sausage links were just normal sausage links, the gravy was a little too salty, needed more pepper & sausage. He would describe it as very middle of the road, nothing special. I would say it's pretty disappointing. I wish I could give half stars, because I would ultimately give them a 1.5.

Less Uffda, More Lefse: that's what this place is about! We…read morethought the service was lacking, especially for a Saturday morning (a relatively popular time for them). Since this was our first time, we had no idea that it was a 'seat yourself' type of place and there were no signs indicating so. We stood at the door being stared at by the patrons and the employees. It took several minutes for someone to tell us we could sit wherever. Finally, our waitress stopped over, took our drink order, but because we weren't ready, she left. She didn't come back for more than 15 minutes. She did apologize, but it was far too long. Prices were reasonable and two specials were offered - our kinda place! My husband took part in one of those specials and ordered the country fried steak and eggs. I ordered the regular steak and eggs. We did substitute an order of toast for the Swedish pancakes (gotta!) It took a really long time for our food to come, which was disappointing. Food did come out hot and my husband was a big fan of the country fried steak. I didn't think the Swedish pancakes were anything I would HAVE to order a second time, but I'm glad we tried them. The hashbrowns were probably the highlight of breakfast. A waitress did stop by with a dum dum for kids, which was a cute added touch!

There are plenty of tables that aren't crowded too close together. Staff was extremely friendly. Everyone around us appeared to be eating breakfast, and it all looked good. However, since it is a Swedish restaurant we decided to order the meatballs and lefse. Both had average flavor, but wasn't anything special. The gravy on the meatballs were under whelming. I don't think I would order them again but I definitely want to go back and try their breakfast.

As we entered, we were greeted right away by one of the friendly servers. We were there in time for happy hour and they had a great cocktail selection. I had the La Bonita Margarita - it was delicious!! We had the chicken wings with peach habanero sauce for our appetizer and it was crispy and juicy! We had the Tibs - highly recommended - and the salmon....both were flavorful and yummy. We had the strawberry cheesecake and it was dreamy! This was a great spot and we would definitely come again to try other items on their menu!

I took a seat on the patio while I waited for my friend to arrive...and I waited a good 10 minutes for the server to bring menus and eventually water. When my friend arrived it was probably another 5 minutes before they came around again. My friend ordered an iced Chai and I stuck with water because they didn't offer brewed iced tea. (Note to restaurants: Stop getting the fake tea from the fountain pop machine! It tastes horribly.) There was only one server and a manager (or the owner). There weren't that many tables but it was noticeable their staff was stretched very thin. One we placed our order, it would be another 20 minutes before we'd see our food. Only after I stopped the manager when our food would come, he popped in and came right out with our dishes. The food failed. My friend ordered the Ropa Vieja Benedict and I had the steak scrambled. My friend stated the eggs and meat was cooked perfectly but the basil hollandaise sauce was made with mustard (powder) and he could barely take two bites before stopping. My steak scrambled was cold along the edges, the eggs, were cooked well, but the steak wasn't seasoned and even the salsa was bland. We had to flag down our server (again) because she failed to check on us, to ask for the checks. Thats when my friend said he wasn't going to take the food home nor did he think he should pay for it. Keep in mind this was just breakfast so I can't speak for all the other offerings but given this experience, we won't be back.

‼New restaurant try that should go on your list!‼…read more I've wanted to try @churchillstmn in Shoreview for a few years now and just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Finally went and had an awesome lunch that I'll definitely need to go back for again. Everything we ordered was really really good. The menu had so many contenders so I'll need to come back and try other things. We noticed a pancake go by our table and that kinda did it for me. I love me a savory and sweet situation so I went with the following and fell in love with my choices and my Auntie's sandwich too....sorry, not sorry. The Breakfast Sandwich (so much flavor going on in this sandwich and when I ordered the response was ooo good choice, which is a deal maker for me) Kid's Pancake on the side (Uffdah this was yummy) Crispy Chicken Sandwich (not my order today but tried a bite and my goodness was it good. The looks of the breading put me off a bit to start but it was deceiving. It wasn't heavy and thick but it was thin crisp tasty breading to complement the sandwich I was impressed with how flavorful the chicken was and balanced with everything.) Monster Cookie was a delicious treat later too So basically everything we got was great and when I go back I'll maybe get something new and let you know thoughts then. Safe to say you should check it out sometime. For more awesome food spots check out the account mallorymademetryitmn on Instagram!

Since I have to get my own water and place my order at the counter that lowering my normal 18 to 20 % to 15 seems reasonable. Note they put on a credit card service charge of 3 % so you are back to paying 18% over menu price anyway. Sunday brunch , so get there early. Mocha $5.50. Good flavor but seemed like the chocolate was not fully desolved. Croque Madame $19 with salad. Very well made sandwich with a nice presentation on the salad. Avocado toast $15 always very good and she always get it Raspberry danish hot latte $8. Very good not too sweet. Two brunch specials $19 each. Was very good Service was good. They cleared dirty dishes quickly.
