The service was a bit slow as it took awhile for us to be seated (there were plenty of tables) and also for someone to initially come out to us. It then also took a good while for our food to come out. For my entree I got the barbacoa tacos which were okay. They weren't very flavorful nor were the black beans that came with them. Honestly, we didn't mind at all because she immediately got us drinks and caffeine, which was much needed while battling a couple-day migraine. I ordered The Clock Two-Egg Breakfast, and wow, it was absolutely delicious. This was honestly some of the best breakfast food I've had since living in the state of Florida. The chunky hash browns were cooked perfectly. Bacon, perfectly cooked, a well balance of soft and crunchy. Judy was also one of the nicest waitresses we've met during all of our travels. She constantly checked on us and made sure we never went without anything during our visit. We were chatting with her about feeding pets, and she even drew a little dog on our doggy box, which was such a sweet personal touch. I only saw tables but there was another room that I didn't go in so it might have had some other kind of seating. We went during THE busiest time so we were lucky to find parking in the cramped but free parking lot. The hostess let us know there was a 35 min wait for indoor seating for 2. Outdoor seating was available, but we decided against it since it was a hot n sunny day in the 90s. We were ok with the wait and gave the hostess my name and phone number to get a text when the table was ready. While we waited, we walked to Serpentine plant shop across the parking lot and shopped a little. The text that our table was ready arrived 34 minutes so it was timed perfectly with the end of my shopping... we were seated soon after walking back into the restaurant. We had a corner table near the drink prep/coffee station so we had a front row seat to the preparing of many different teas and coffees while we decided what to order. A note about the table / seat size, we are skinny people and the seating fit us well but anyone somewhat wider would have trouble being comfortable. The high top tables might be a better option for those guests. The entire restaurant was packed when we came in and remained pretty full for our visit. There are 2 single-occupancy restrooms to the far left of the main entrance. They were clean enough and stocked appropriately. We were served by Jane and she answered all our menu questions. We ordered a cold matcha latte, chai latte, Mexican Coke, crispy potatoes, afternoon hash extra egg, 1/2 mushroom toast, and a turkey club no lettuce no bacon plus desserts (to go) chocolate chip cookie, puff pastry, and cinnamon roll. Many of the guests left empty plates when leaving so it seems their food is a hit! The only reason my "atmosphere" rating is missing a star is that our table was unfortunately near one of the restrooms so we would occasionally smell the disinfectant odor when someone opened the door. This was just a seating "feature" so of course it could not be helped. A bit of a long wait for breakfast/brunch style items. The cinnamon roll was not done well whatsoever, the roll itself was over kneaded which created a thick and heavy dough. Not the fluffy type of cinnamon roll you would expect. When our food did come out the Dutch baby was partly burnt, it did not taste as such but it was a bit flat in regard to taste. The potatoes in the hash and the big break were burnt. I wouldn't consider it crispy because they were so overcooked I could barely get my fork to go through. So I figured I would give it a try. Pulling up, it is very non-descript. Looks kind of run-down, almost like it isn't open except for the neon sign saying that it is. Walking inside, you are presented with a small room to the left with a couple of booths and a couple of tables to the right, along with a counter with stools in front. I figured the counter was the place to be at a diner like this, so that is where I sat. The staff eventually got to me with a menu, and took my drink order. For my lunch, I went with the burger and an order of fries. They took a while to get out, made fresh (I assume) in the kitchen. I will say that the price is appropriate for the food, and the food is fair. Nothing really outstanding, but not bad either. What really stood out to me however was the general attitude of the staff. It was just... sad. They just didn't want to be there, resented working there in the first place, and had no qualms about showing that in their demeanor to everyone visiting the restaurant. Sadly, what this does is bring down the atmosphere of the place, which means that the guests don't really want to be there either, continuing the downward spiral. Frankly, despite there being so few places to eat in the Waldo area, I will most likely not be returning. I would rather drive up to Starke or down to Gainesville than eat here again.
