This is shaping up to be my favorite restaurant (at least for lunch/dinner) in Sackets. Excellent view, food, service, and atmosphere -- tough to beat! They had live music when we were there. Stopped by for dinner, it was a lovely night to sit out on the deck. Appetizer came out quickly but they lost our dinner order. We didn't care we're on vacation and have plenty of time. The waitress was helpful and comped our drinks for the meal. Food was good and I think my wife had extra shrimp in her pasta and shrimp. We had a good visit and everyone was friendly. read more

The Boathouse has a great view but the food and service are generally subpar. In an effort to support local restaurants during Covid we went there for some cold drinks and that famous view. Obviously during this time it's mandated that a patron has to order food along with their drinks. No big deal, we're always down for some munchies. I initially ordered fried pickles which they were out of so I ordered chipotle chips and their version of French onion soup. We also ordered chicken tenders. Honestly, if the appetizer selection was bigger we would've ordered more food but the selection is limited. Chips were fine, the sauce was great. The French onion was literally filled to the halfway point. No exaggeration. It's almost like they ran out and didn't want to come tell me. When I told our server it was halfway full she replied with ' oh yea, that's to leave room for cheese'. Since when? French onion is always served to the top so the cheese can melt over the edges. I wanted to say 'so if I wanted a full bowl of soup I'd have to pay $18?' But I held back. The chicken tenders came with a side of ketchup. Who eats chicken fingers with ketchup besides a 4 year old? They could at least ask what sauce we wanted. Since were all being forced to order food at least put in some effort to make sure it's decent. Also, educate your staff to notify a manager when someone has a complaint. Not to just ignore it. read more

Where to begin? The food was very good but the overall experience was mediocre at best. Upon arrival, we waited quite awhile for a hostess to seat us and it was not busy at all. At 6:00, they were already out of salmon and seasonal vegetables... the only substitutes offered for vegetables were extra potatoes or coleslaw... salad was only an option if you paid for it. Our waitress was either very new of or totally unfocused. Wrong wine, wrong martini, no silverware or napkins even after appetizers arrived... had to steal from another table so we could eat while the food was hot. Doubtful that we'll return. read more

If you're looking for a mediocre place to dine in Sackets and don't mind the poorly trained staff then this is the place to go. The only thing going for it, are the views of Sackets Harbor and the overpriced food. read more

We were hear for a rehearsal dinner which is what I'm reflecting in my review. Our group took up the majority of the dining room and had a prefixe menu that we selected in advance. It included appetizers of fried calamari/spinach dip, bread, fruit salad, varying entrees, and a lemon cake for dessert. Prior to sitting down we ordered a couple rounds of drinks from the bartenders who were incredibly friendly and I enjoyed the selection they had on tap. The appetizers were good and so was the bread baskets that they served. I didn't enjoy the salad as it was iceberg with 3-4 kinds of fruit which just isn't my thing. My entree was a Cajun pork chop with sweet potato fries. I wasn't hungry enough to eat too many fries but the pork chop was perfectly cooked. The lemon cake for dessert was also delicious although as was the case with all of the restaurants in the area, the blueberries on top still had their stems. Our waitress was very nice albeit a little overwhelmed. The restaurant was packed both inside and out on the deck and I don't think they can fully handle that amount of guests so we were there for a long time. In this instance it wasn't a big deal as we were here to celebrate. read more

Beautiful view of Lake Ontario....Sackets Harbor is a cute little village. This place is located in the heart of the village. The view is amazing from the docks where you can sit and have drinks. The staff was friendly there and we will be back to eat there again. read more

Great wine- wine selection great & I love how it is all catorgorized on a wine menu to tell you better about the selections... great martinis- the bar is fantastic...super cool and clean inside and out- fabulous service...the food...ho-hum- had the clam boat- ipswich clams...I think not... frozen for sure and like crap you get in a diner.. fries came out super old and cold. You need to take that OFF the menu. Spinich salad. Bland. My hubbie said the tuna appeitzer was good. The seafood bisque...hum... I had two bites. NOthing to reorder or write home about. Because of all the other great things here I will give the food another try. They have some great weekday specials. Sitting out on the deck enjoying the lake on a gorgeous day was a plus...and as I said before the fantastic drinks made it better yet. read more

Patio is nice and that counts in Sackets Harbour. Food is average pub fare. Nothing really to rave about. Mixed drinks - where they should really be hitting it out of the park are, well, meh. I had an expensive dinner for four tonite. The calamari was the worst I have ever had two weeks ago it was great which made me want to come back and bring my family. Big mistake the salmon was cold and partially raw. The sweet potato Basket was cold and not served with the butter brown sugar as before. The chimichurri steak had hardly any chimichurri and warm at best. The baked haddock was thrown together and not at all tasteful. I would never recommend this restaurant especially costing over $200.00. Should hv spent it next door. read more

This is definitely the restaurant to go to in Sackets Harbor, service was excellent and the dock seating was gorgeous. Our table ordered the Asian Ahi Crisp and Baked Chèvre for appetizers and both were amazing and plentiful. For entrees we had a seafood pasta, a 'straw and hay' and a Crabby Patty, all were very delicious, fresh and great in portion. They had plenty of beer on tap (more than the 'brewing company' next door) and in bottles and a full bar which we enjoyed. If looking for a good place to eat on the main street, definitely pick this one. You won't leave disappointed and your wallet won't leave empty :) read more

I have given the boathouse one too many tries over the last four years. This last visit was by far the worst. My husband and I are always making excuse for why we need to go back (maybe it was just the service tonight, or the cooks were off their game, the patio is awesome...). No more chances boathouse. The food is always underwhelming, and the service is consistently poor. Today our food took over 45 minutes. We were one of TWO tables in the entire restaurant, confirmed when I walked inside to use the restroom. The other table ordered a basket of fried food, which should have taken mere minutes. Their order took almost as long as ours. I think they naturally (because of location) have everything going for them, but proactively seek and find reasons to be terrible. My grilled chicken sandwich was SMOTHERED in mayo. Gross. I ordered it without cheese and with cole slaw as the side. Our server notified us after 40 minutes that "the cook threw some cheese on your sandwich", so he had to remake it. Once it finally came out, it was plated with chips instead of cole slaw. Our server even said the cook was having a hard time reading today; he put chips on my husband's plate instead of fries but caught it before it was brought out to us. Too bad my husband was able to read today; he might have left a zero behind the tip. As if to put the nail in the coffin, as we walked through the restaurant on our way out, my husband and I both noticed all SEVEN employees "working" (excluding however many cooks in the back) were seated, fixed on the TVs. Bad bugs, bad prime rib & disappointing service on patio. We were with a large group, all having apps & entrees. One of the group ordered prime rib with king crab, another just prime rib (medium & medium rare). BOTH prime ribs were very well done & they forgot the crab in the steamer. Not cheap either. Buggy on the patio & those bugs got in the water glasses, butter bowl. Never again if I have a vote on it. Thank heavens for good company. read more

First and last visit. Limited beer selection as they were closing tomorrow. Should have taken this as a major clue. First, service was slooooooow. We ordered our appetizers with our drink order, mussels and calamari, and it was over twenty minutes. Our meals were being served before we finished our appetizers. Crabby sandwich was ok, but coleslaw highly questionable. NE clam chowder was quite good. I ordered the shrimp and scallop scampi without the fettuccini as I have health issues. I was served a bowl of very small scallops with even smaller shrimp in a very dark sauce. With a spoon. Not at all a scampi. The scallops and shrimp were not fresh and whatever the sauce was, was not at all tasteful. Another member of our party ordered the scampi with the fettuccini and theirs came with no sauce. I asked the waitress if this was indeed a scampi and she assured me it was. I told her it was inedible and she apologized and took my plate away. The waitress brought our check, apologized and still charged us for the meal we sent back. This was the second meal I have ever sent back. I am extremely disappointed and will never go back to this restaurant. I can not recommend this restaurant to anyone who might be expecting a well cooked meal. read more

A group of us went there there for a dinner on a Thursday night. The Ahi Tuna was great. The mussels and clams were also very tasty. We would all recommend the seafood bisk. For dinner I had the seafood Pasta. It was great. lots of chopped clams, shrimp, mussels and scallops. the pasta was hiot and the brother was very thick. WELL that loud mouth manager that wouldn't listen to reason was STILL THERE! He was loudly and obnoxiously directing staff regarding a "party of 15" coming in at 5:30. Apparently the customers trying to enjoy a mid afternoon respite didn't count since he moved tables and mouthed off with a flourish as to what to expect in oh 2.5hrs? Really? I've been coming to Sackett's on day trips for bout 20 years, the Boathouse is one of those ol' reliables that I know will be open for a nice lunch on the water. (we actually had a hard time finding places open for lunch in the North Country this summer, Sacketts seemed to be ok but A-Bay and the surrounding Thousand Islands area were devoid of decent sit down lunch options) The food isn't anything to write home about--its the dock patio that is the big draw for me. There isn't really much competition on the food front around here--might as well go here because it has the best dock. The waitresses are friendly and quick-no complaints in that department. read more

Went here for Saturday lunch with my wife and my Mom. She's from Sackets Harbor and absolutely loves this place, so I was excited to try it out. I was very impressed. Our server was amazing and so friendly. The food was outstanding. The view was pretty nice, although it's basically a marina and other restaurant decks around the lake. The mussels were delicious! Wasn't a big fan of the sauce but it was still a very good dish. The Fire Thang burger was mediocre. Beer selection of course is great. I had the Guinness on tap, Labatt & 1812 also & all three were delicious. Def recommend this place if you like trying diff beers. 1812 brewing co. is right next door although the service leave a lot to be desired. Don't recommend at all!!!! Horrible experience was there 2+ hrs people that showed up 45 min after us were getting there bread and salads before us. Never asked how I wanted my prime rib cooked. Messed up a whole salad waitress asked what dressing my girlfriend wanted with her ceaser salad? Manager was apologetic but he said hold on I'll go get you ketchup he never came back with it also told he would take money off the bill no charge for dessert or salads and some drinks but that was a lie and he charged for dessert. I am not from the area but when I am in Watertown I love going to The Boathouse! In fact, this past summer my family hosted my bridal shower there. We had a great time. It helped that we had beautiful weather so we could enjoy the awesome deck. The food is always great and I love the big menu with lots of choices. My favorite sandwich by far is the one with grilled chicken and brie. So delicious! One last thing that I love... The bartenders can make you ANY DRINK. No one makes a Nuts and Berries like The Boathouse. :-) read more

Group of four army dudes out to eat dinner. First of all, our friend slipped on a patch of water and almost TORE HIS ACL!!!! Close call. I'll start with some improves: 1, the wifi is complete doo doo. 2, it took forever to get an initial waiter (approx 5 min). 3, not enough TVs and definitely not enough chicks. Moving on to some sustains: SEAFOOD PASTA IS DELISH!!! The clams were super juicy and the pasta was to die for. I had the chic tenders and my buddy had fish n chips which we split. Both were fried perfectly in a GOLDEN BROWN COLOR! Beers: Love that they have bud light. Also love the Michigan shout out with the Edmund Fitzgerald beer.
