My first visit. I was somewhat confused when we walked in. They check your ID at the door. The decor and slushy wall was way too cute. I like that they offer non alcoholic slushies and have vegetarian options for food. I wasn't a fan of the food. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. We had good service.

Located in downtown Indy, this is a cool place to walk into with dimmed lights and various pictures, decor and upbeat music. There plenty of indoor seating and a large bar. We had a couple of hot dogs and the boudin balls which was all delicious. They also have alcoholic slushies. The service was ok. My friend is from New Orleans and he was overall pleased with this place. There is a lower part(club) if you go back outside and down the stairs which opens later in the night with music.

Stopped in for quick shots while on the pedal bar. Unlike MOST bars along a pedal route, they were glad to see us. Most bars do not tend to like when pedalers come, so it made me more excited to support them since they were happy to see us. They offer hello shots and any other kind of shot you could dream of. The Jell-O shots even come in the syringes which are so fun. It is a little hole in the wall, but great to stop in for a few minutes. Not sure there's enough space to want to hang out all night.

A hole in the wall dive bar located downtown. This is a very interesting place. We came across it during all star weekend when most of our go-to bars were packed. We we grabbed some hot dogs and ordered drinks. I'm not sure if it was due to all stars but we were ID'd and wanded by a security guard and metal detector before we were able to enter. The hot dogs came out quick - messy and delicious. I wish the buns didn't fall apart so much. Exactly as described. Drinks a bit pricey. I think almost $9 for a high noon.

A downtown staple whether you're hungry or wanting to drown your sorrows in booze. Great late night food options and the new menu items are A+.

My bad. When I go out to eat, it's all about the food. So, it didn't occur to me that this place was a bar. Well, it didn't until the doorman at my hotel said he'd never been to it because he's only 18. Were it not for that, I'm sure the guy who checked my ID and wanded me before I entered would have tipped me off. So, as bar food goes, I think my food was fairly decent. The hotdog was beef and not too filling despite the batter, chili, and cheese. I could have gone for more chili, though. The boudin balls needed more seasoning. The mustard dip kept the dish from being completely bland. I think I'd be willing to go back without too much of a protest, but I'm not sure The Saint Shack knows what it is. Is it a kitschy restaurant? Is it a bar? I think there's a nightclub downstairs--separate entrance. For a Saturday night, it wasn't crowded at all, though. Maybe there's a speakeasy in the back keeping the place from going out of business?

Dinner tonight was at a hot dog joint located pretty close to Lucas oil stadium...gotta love a place that specializes in craft hot dogs. Took the plunge and tried the Indy dog...bacon, jalapeños and peanut butter on an all beef hot dog. PB on a hot dog?!? Why the hell not...it was actually pretty fantastic..:not sure if this is Indy's officialr local hot dog style or not, but frankly who cares. I also got the bacon wrapped ripper (a hot dog that gets deep fried till the casing rips. It was pretty good but I made the mistake of eating my Indy dog first. That made the ripper seem basic in comparison Both dogs came on a toasted poppy seed bun. The fries were damn tasty too! Glad I found this place. It has a great vibe too..kinda eclectic interior with 80's pop blasting

On our ongoing quest to find some of the best hot dogs in Indy, we found ourselves at The Saint Shack on the evening of the Fourth of July. Nothing like a super pregnant lady chowing down on hot dogs and fries at a club on the fourth of July. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do... After seeing some of the pics of their loaded dogs and hearing about it from a friend, I had to see for myself. This New Orleans inspired club packs a punch when it comes to their dogs - you'll find everything from a classic loaded Chicago dog to bacon wrapped and deep fried alongside Santa Fe and Chili dogs. Most of the dogs will run you around $7 which is on the higher end but I would say a savvy business move on their part ;) What drunk (or pregnant) person wouldn't love a hefty hot dog at the end of the night? Better yet, their crisp crinkle fries are simple and delicious for $3.50. Last but certainly not least, they have a really fun wall of slushy cocktails ranging from Palomas to Pina Coladas. I had a sip of both and look forward to ordering a full cup in a few months ;) The slushy cocktails are $10 and booze-forward (not as cheapy tasting as I was expecting). The location on South Meridian certainly brings out a young and party-esque crowd but with Missy Elliot and Tom Petty on the playlist and a fun menu lineup, they'll be seeing more of me...around 7pm. ;)

Im not sure what it's like during the week but on a Saturday night this is a place you definitely want to check out and if you enjoy VIP make sure you RSVP early. I came here to meet my girls and enjoy some dancing, drinks and a little food, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. This spot is located where Subterra use to be located. To be honest I thought I was going to to a tacos and tequila bar based off the name (it's not), but ended up walking into a cozy night club. There are 2 sides to The Saint Shack, you have your dance club vibe located underground and then there's the Bourbon St bar complete w slushees upstairs. In the upstairs level there is also food. I ordered the boudins and also the shack wich (or something like that) over rice. The boudins were delicious! I couldn't stop eating them. They're a decent size too, 4 altogether and comes with some sort if sauce. The shack wich was decent Im not sure I would order again. I found myself wanting a little more flavor or spiciness in the shredded chicken and my rice was hard. For drinks I was introduced to this shot called GreenTea Shot and it's PHENOMENAL!!! This shot was so delicious it could easily come in glass or pitcher. The taste reminded me of a peach green tea and it was cold!! Let's just say LJ (bartender) serves us a few of those. This place is definitely a good time but if you want a seat or any sort of "guaranteed" spot at the bar I would advise you get there early because once it starts filling up......it fills quick.

This place has some fun frozen drinks to mix and match. The place seems cool and the bartenders were friendly and easy to talk to. The night club is in the basement.

My friends and I were out day drinking when another group asked if we wanted to join them at The Saint Shack. I had no idea this place existed so take this review as a daytime point of view. Also possibly a bar downstairs open at night? As soon as you walk in frozen cocktails are to your right. 12 flavors to choose from and two cup sizes. Cups pictured are $10 and there is also a party yard cup as an option. A LOT of plastic getting thrown away which made me super uneasy about it. I took mine home and washed them since they could be reused. They have table seating, bar seating, standing basket chairs, and this super cute green couch. Lots of plants and good photo opportunities ;) Drinks from the bar were pretty expensive as well. I got two shots and it was $16.. it was a nice hangout and the frozen drinks are cool but that's like event pricing. Overall I would return..however I wouldn't start my drinking here due to the cost. Employees were friendly and inside was clean.

It was late night and my friends and I were starving so decided to pop in here for the first time. It was a pretty cool vibe and food came out quick which is always great! We all loved the hot dogs we got. The fries were good too. I'd recommend coming back especially late cause it really hits the spot!

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.

Keagan Fife (Manager) - A team player, receptive to feedback and conscientious. We had a issue while there and he was able to step in and problem solve with me and come up with a solution that really won us over. We had a moment where it was feeling a bit "why did we come here" but his customer service exceeded expectation. That's good management. (He's the gentleman in the video below.) Let's get the negative out the way 1st. The first waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink. I told her we hadn't received menus. She came back sat them down and walked away. We never saw her again. A new waitress came and she seemed pleasant enough. Once we were all seated she began to take our orders. She made a point to say she needed to write it all down or she was get it mixed up. She then did not write anything down. Our food came out extremely slow but that wasn't a huge deal because we all were mingling. A lot of her team had to step in and deliver our food, give drinks, check on us etc. She was pretty non existent. Two of the ladies never received food. This was after we had been there for 2 hours and everyone else had received their items. At the end when we asked for our check they were all mixed up and confused. The waitress then blamed us for adding things and moving around. We never moved once and she only came around the one time when she originally took our orders. We never got a chance to add things. (it was quite comical that she tried to say that) I ended up asking for manager because she seemed overwhelmed and a bit bias about our group. Assuming that we wouldn't want one check and splitting them because she figured we would want it that way and then blaming us because she did it when we never asked for split. There rule is parties over 8 have to have 1 bill and we never asked for an exception. There was just her assumption that a group of black women wouldn't want to do that. (I digress) There were a few more things but I will end it there. That was the big negative. Now the positive!!! Ambiance 10/10 - great views, great music, great location, umbrellas on roof were great although a but wobbly and scary. Also, they come around with complimentary sunglasses while dining. I thought this was a nice and luxurious touch! Food 8/10 - most food received was delicious Service 9/10 - everyone except for our server was great! Everyone who pitched in to help was awesome! Ended up tipping a different server who basically helped us the whole time. Bless his heart because I know he was super busy. As stated above management handle the situation well. I would definitely go back! I try to give people a chance. I think our server may have been overwhelmed and had a past experience that left her bias against our group but hopefully she can grow and get better. Her actions don't reflect the restaurant as a whole! Go and enjoy the vibes and views!
