    Excellent bourbon selection

Best townie bar I've ever been to. Don't come here for a 5 star experience.... Come here to meet good people, have some good food and good drinks at a good price. We wondered in here one day and now it's our favorite spot to swing by for a shot and beer.

Been here several times always for the music. Fun place for all music lovers to hang out. Party, relax, eat, drink, play some pool and listen to great local bands. Sadly I have not tried any food but I heard the wings are good.

Came here for dinner trivia and karaoke! This is definitely a divey bar. They have pool tables and a ping pong table. Several tables and chairs for seating and although we were at one of the last tables we could hear the trivia just fine! Karaoke was fun and I like they have a system where you scan a QR code and put in your name with the opportunity to search their selection of songs AND see the lineup of singers. I got the big Steve Fatty melt, and it was super good! The bread was grilled to perfection. They had a smash burger and in between and it was a massive amount of food for a good price. Only a few parking spots at the front but I believe they have some in the back as well.

Mousetrap when you walk in instantly gives you that classic dive bar feel, bar, stage, dance floor, and a room with pool tables and darts. Really cheap pool! Only $0.50!!! While there we had the grilled tenderloin and fries. For bar food this was actually really good. The meat was seasoned very well and kept its juiciness even with it being so thin. The fries were cooked perfectly, crispy and had a fluffy center. Will be going back!

YES. Go here! Stop scrolling and take the chance on this place. This had a typical hole in the wall bar feeling, only better. There is a large bar and stage, and I believe they have tables on the other side. We sat up at the bar, and within seconds we were greeted by the bartender. He was friendly, peppy, and although he was busy taking care of the entire bar by himself, he was QUICK. On their menu, they have a "famous for" section. We ordered two things from that menu, the tenderloin and chili. I went rogue and ordered the wings, because I'm always looking for a good wing. Let's start with the tenderloin... it is HUGE. If I didn't want to try so many things, my fiance and I could've EASILY split it and had some leftover. It was delicious and had a ton of flavor. The breading on there was perfect. Next up, the chili. It said it was grandma's recipe, and Grammy knew how to make an amazing chili. I will say I would've preferred it to be a little hotter (temperature wise) than what it actually was. I ended up getting a Togo bowl because I knew it'd be better hot. Finally, the wings. If you are looking for some amazing chicken wings in indy- this is it. They were big wings, had a ton of meat on them, and a lot of flavor. I got mild and garlic butter sauce, and I also tried the blackberry bourbon on the side. All of the sauces were delicious with it!! They are one of the best wings I've ever had in Indy. I used to live less than 5 minutes from this place, and I'm so upset with myself that I had never gone until now. Please go and give it a chance! We will definitely be back!!

The pizza and breadsticks were a hit across the table. I decided to try the Korean fried chicken because I was curious, and I'm never passing up a good wedge salad. Both were easily 10/10. Thankfully, there was no wait, so we were seated immediately. We chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect. The outdoor seating was under a canopy, and the ground had this rocky/rubble vibe that gave it a cool outdoor patio feel. We grabbed a table near the TV so we could watch the basketball game. One thing I really liked was the activity table where you could color, play board games, or do trivia. They also had ping-pong, cornhole, and other cute activities for little kids, which made the atmosphere feel really fun and family-friendly. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to order, but I went with the Cobb salad. It was good, but I definitely needed extra dressing plus some salt and pepper to bring out the flavor. I'd come back for sure, but next time I'll probably try something different since the salad was just okay. Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to bringing my family back to check this place out!

Big Lug Canteen delivers a memorable meal from start to finish -- friendly, unpretentious service,…read morea warm neighborhood vibe, and two standout dishes that I'll be ordering again. The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, solid value. Highly recommended.
