Our first impression was interesting name and atmosphere. We enjoyed the half order of nachos supreme with ground beef (lettuce, tomatoes, beans, sour cream) and white cheese on top and a side order of guacamole. It was the right amount of food for two people. My spouse ordered the four ground beef enchiladas which came with minimal cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and rice. He had two bottles of corona beer. I originally wanted from the lunch menu but a dinner portion of one hard shell taco and one enchilada. I was in the mood for one chicken and one shrimp. I had to order from the dinner side and ended up with two hard shelled tacos. It was very dry in terms of no salsa or enchilada sauce. The tacos and rice were otherwise alright. We were Just very disappointed with the meal as both were very dry and hard to swallow. Need sauce (cheese, salsa or enchilada sauce), and more seasoning. The other big disappointment was my spouse was served first and I had to wait 10 minutes for my two tacos. Not sure if we will return or just order takeout and add my own sauce at home. read more

Were in Greeneville for a memorial service and met about 30 other friends on Sat night 8 Nov 25 at The Salsas. The server did an excellent job accommodating our large group by arranging the tables in an "L" shape and made sure everyone's order was correct. The Mexican food was good - especially considering it's in Greeneville TN vs my hometown of San Antonio TX. We got there after dark and several of us commented it was difficult to find the restaurant as there was no lit sign out front. If you go at night, my recommendation is to follow your GPS to the parking lot, look for the well lit vaping shop, and you'll find The Salsas to the right. Two cheese enchiladas, a chicken enchilada, a steak soft taco and rice and beans have never been better. No grease In the cheese at all. The chips were fresh and not greasy either. The service was friendly and the food came out in less than 10 min which I was a little leary of at first, thinking there is no way it can be fresh or hot. It was both fresh AND hot. This place is a little isolated from the restaurants in the town area. But it is worth the drive if you are a fan of Mexican food. Our neighbor recommended this place to my wife and me. I picked her up from work to give it a try. The prices are higher than other Mexican food places in the area but our first meal here was excellent. I tried the Steak Ranchero meal and it was flavorful and it came in a very large portion, more than I could eat. My wife had steak tacos. It's great and had about a dozen choices. If you can't find one you like it's your own fault! I ordered from the Lunch Special menu and got the chicken chimichanga with rice and beans. It was delicious and way bigger than I thought it would be. I couldn't finish it and I'm quite a hearty eater! My husband got the steak Nachos Fajita Papas (full order) and he raved about how great is was. He suggested it had crack in it because even after he was totally full, he couldn't stop eating it! The atmosphere is very nice; nicer than most places in the area. Clean and tastefully decorated. The service was good. Our glasses were never empty and our server checked on us often enough. Oh! And the price? Mine was $5 and my hubs was $9! We spend more at fast food places! It's a hard little place to find, tucked away in a strip mall behind a Hardee's, but they had a good amount of customers so the word is out. No, just no. Anyone who says this is good or authentic hasn't had good authentic Mexican food. Just moved here from Texas and was excited this place had such great reviews but really disappointed. The "chunks" of carnitas in verde sauce was shredded and sweet; never had sweet verde sauce. The ribeye rancheros was really thin dry steak with some grilled onions and at least 3 huge sliced fresh jalapeños. Just disappointing all around. I stopped by on a weekday for lunch because they were nearby and I was not disappointed! They weren't too crowded at the time- and they've got both booth and table seating available and I was seated right away. When you sit down, they bring out tortilla chips and a black bean dip. Both very good, but then I was informed about their salsa bar. They've got 15 different salsas to choose from, 3 of which had very good heat that I enjoyed. I ordered the Vegetarian Enchiladas which come with a spicy hot sauce on them, and I asked for some jalapenos for extra heat. They didn't come with any sides but there were 6 of them, and they left me very full with leftovers to take home as well. They were also flavorful and delicious, and filled with white cheese(s). The prices are incredible too! I ate lunch for under $8 after taxes and I left full and happy as well. My waitress didn't come by very often but I didn't really mind because I was happy being left alone with my great food! read more

5+ stars! There were quite a few Mexican restaurants to choose from in the area and I am so glad we decided on Salsa's! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best I've ever had in my life! The quality and portion size of the entries was more than generous and I savored every single bite. My hubby and I ordered some guacamole and sour cream to-go and we intend on making breakfast with it and our leftovers on the morning. We will certainly Oy be back to try the salsa bar next time. We decided to try them out yesterday for lunch. We arrived a little before noon, and good thing we did. The restaurant does a bustling business, both dining in and pick up. I had the vegetarian burrito, holding the cheese, and hubby had the Reyeno. Lots of food, and a great price. Enjoyed the warm bean dip with the chips as an appetizer. Salsa's has very good classic Americanized Mexican food. Exactly what you would expect to find at any Mexican restaurant in the states. They have a nice ambiance, good guacamole, and are not very expensive. The only knock on it might be that you have to go and get your own salsa from a salsa bar and the little cups don't hold very much.. Especially if you eat a lot of chips and salsa like I do. Best Mexican Food I've had in years! I was passing through the area, and Yelp led me to this restaurant for lunch. I read all of the great reviews, so decided to stop in. The restaurant is clean and neat, the menu is extensive, and their weekday lunch specials are amazing. It is sometimes hard for me to find good food eating out, because I am Celiac and also eat low carb. I wondered if the lunch portion of fajitas was going to be enough without the rice, beans or tortillas. That worry was unfounded. I added a side of guacamole, and it was plenty of food. The fajita seasoning was spot on, with just the right amount if oil from frying. The platter was sizzling and steaming upon arrival at my table.
