Horrible service. We've been going there for years. It's our local dive bar. We live a block away. Katie is one of the worst bartenders I have ever been served by. Went in to watch a game with friends, we had a really good time. The food and drinks were tasty and the service was attentive. Not a bad seat in the house, TVs every direction. It looks like the have a great happy hour, and plenty of free parking. This is what you want in a neighborhood bar. read more

Came in because they had a sign saying they had Poutine, Turns out this was wrong, which is surprising, because Poutine only requires three ingredients, but Screaming Yak didn't have any Cheese Curds in their Poutine. I vote this best place on the north side to watch pro football. The yak has the football package and plenty of TV's to watch it on. The food is better than average, especially the scrambled yak for breakfast & wings the rest of the day. During the work week the specials are good, I try to usually make it in for Taco Tuesday. Service is particularily good, Danni is a serving goddess. My only complaint is how loud the place is. Because all the surfaces are concrete, wood & metal, it echoes in here something awful and is really hard to carry on a conversation if it is even somewhat crowded. read more

We've passed this place for a few years, always wondering how the food was. We stopped in for lunch today during World Cup Finals. We tried the jalapeno poppers, they were great! They're fresh jalapeño peppers cut in half and stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese, cheddar cheese and...bacon, breaded and fried to perfection! My wife had the Jack Daniel's BBQ Burger with sweet potato fries. The burger comes with crispy fired onions and bacon, the sweet potato fries rocked. I had the Smokin' Hot Burger with garlic fries. This burger is topped with jalapeños, blue cheese crumbles, and BBQ sauce. The garlic fires were topped with shredded Parmesan cheese and were out of this world! It's a sports bar atmosphere so the noise level is high, but the food is amazing! read more

Service is excellent every time I am in. It is always busy and they all keep a very positive attitude. The food is always spot on and the breakfast is money. I have been in. A few times and most of the staff remembers who I am which is really nice. I like the fact that all the staff seems to get along as well that makes the atmosphere so pleasent. I generally like this place, but we just experienced a pretty bad night out at The Screamin Yak. Nachos were soggy and very mediocre. Our waitress asked our table of four if we wanted a complimentary long island ice tea, an extra that the bartender had made. Of course we said yes. As she brought it to our table, I asked her if it was free as it was "complimentary" and she said "no, it's $6." I said we wouldn't be paying for it and she flubbered away saying she'd cover it then. We love this bar, but because of this will seriously be reconsidering coming to this bar in the future. read more

Been here a few times with friends for drinks. Place is bright and pretty clean. I've been noticing their sign advertising that they have the NFL TV package as I drive by there all the time for work. My team wasn't on regular TV this weekend so I grabbed a couple people and headed up there to watch my Raiders play. We found a table right in front of the big screen and sat down. Pauline welcomed us immediately and took our order. While we were there we had their breakfast special, an order of nachos and three different kinds of wings. All were delicious and served quickly! When I come here at the right time, I have the burgers and garlic fries. The burgers are really good. The bread is great. The meat is good. The garlic fries have real garlic on them. Not garlic powder or garlic salt, but real garlic. When I come here at the wrong time, which is late at night, I get chicken strips. The one thing I don't like here is the atmosphere. The people in the bar watching tv can be very loud and very drunk. The large windows and spartan interior make me feel like I am being watched. Kinda uncomfortable. The mixed drinks need to improve as well. They seem to be the drinks sororities would order back in 1995. If you are going to charge me 8 dollars for a drink, it better be classy. read more

I've been told that the Yak has great burgers so I found myself in the area, around lunch time, and hungry. So it was time to find out for myself. The menu had some very interesting selections and the fresh sheet featured a number of specials with pulled pork including sliders and a p-p quesadilla with p-p and slaw on top that sounded very interesting. But I came on a mission looking for a burger. I settled on the Black Jack that is blackened, with sauteed shrooms and pepper jack. It was pretty good, but I would not say "great." That could be because I like my blackened foods truly caked with seasoning and this was merely dusted. But it tasted very good and the fries were outstanding. Overall I was pleased. My son had Jack Daniels BBQ and included onion straws & bacon, and all I can say is he did not utter a word while he devoured that thing. If I could go 3.5 stars I would but this is YELP and there are rules. I will be back and feel that it is worth the effort. By the way, Jadyn who commented that it is dark - it's a bar. And there are windows around three sides so not sure what the deal was there, and if someone told you to go there for dancing, you need a new friend. read more

So we went there for the first time and the people were nice and they checked in on us often like we all appreciate, but here's the problem; while they were a dollar or two cheaper than some of the other burger joints out there (some of these places are up to $14 for a burger now!!!) Their burger was a blatant, obvious frozen burger that was machine cut into a perfect disc. It was thin enough that my asking for medium rare really didn't matter. It looked like the same burger you'd get at Burger King...only the Whopper would have tasted better than this one. And the fries were just some basic shoestring frozen fries with nothing unique or exciting about them at all. When I'm paying $12 for a burger, I want it hand made, hand shaped and thick n juicy. All the other places out there that have a sizable burger list make nice hand-shaped thick burgers that are nice n juicy. Lastly, they have no beer list at all to look at. I like to look at my options on paper or on a board...something!! They said it's because their beer liat rotates so much, but there are other places out there that have three times the selection and rotate twice as fast and they will always have it printed out or on some sort of chalkboard so that was just a lame excuse. I won't be going back. Got other burger joints that have never let me down that I will just stay true to. It's just easier that way. read more

Made a reservation for our hockey team in advance. Told they had the ability to serve our group. We waited over 60 minutes in a empty restaurant just to place our orders. The orders were delivered in reverse of being placed and left many kids not eating with the kids at their table. The whole ordeal took over 2 hours. If I could give less than 1 star I would. All I can say is do not order anything that has gravy on it. Fucking disgusting. Pools of grease, completely ruined the country fried steak and biscuits. This review is for this visit only. We've eaten here several times and had pretty good food and great service. Not sure what happened today... maybe short-staffed? I ordered a ham & cheese omelette, but received a Denver, which I would've eaten, but I'm allergic to peppers. The server was apologetic and took the plate back. After a really long time, a ham & cheese omelette was served, but without the hash browns and toast. After another 20 minutes I got the browns and toast. However, all the food was barely lukewarm and the toast was slathered in butter even though I ordered it dry. We got one coffee refill in the hour it took to get our food. We will return, because we like the atmosphere and hubby can watch the football games. I hope they can work out the kitchen kinks. read more

We had a party of 10 today and decided to go the the screaming yak. obviously a BAD decision. The 4 of us that showed up first were lucky enough to get a drink 20 minutes after we arrived. The rest of our group waited an hour and still not even a drink. The waitress came by and took our order 50 minutes after we got there, and came back 3 times saying she would have to take it again (she lost it all 3 times?) at that point our group walked out, and went to the swinging doors, where we were greeted immediately and had drinks in our hands within 5 minutes. Sorry yak, but that was by far the worst customer service I've had in my 41 years of existence. You better step it up, or 2016 will be your year of failure. read more

Enjoyed watching NFL GAMES not just local team. I called a bunch of places and few places have the NFL Sunday Ticket. So you had fans of Green Bay, Seattle, San Francisco, and 1 brave St Louis Ram fan whose lone scream when they made a play sounded eerily like that of a Yak giving childbirth. We have frequented the yak for a few years now and 90% of the time we get great service, yummy food, and a choice of a wide variety of drinks. Their hamburgers are really good, as are their wings. My kids love the jalapeno artichoke dip (not too spicy) and the nachos. The 10% of not the best time/food is usually due to take out, but to be honest it's hard to keep fries crispy and burgers not too soggy in to go boxes. I would like to say that anytime I've had a problem they are more than willing to resolve it. read more

Now that the Yak is serving breakfast and it's football season, we stopped in. I had the scrambler which was pretty good and my husband had a combo breakfast. We were pretty happy with the food even though the service was mediocre. There are quite a few TV's for watching football but they seemed small or oddly placed or something as it was kind of difficult to eat and see the games...but we'd definitely go back and hope we get asked to have a 2nd beverage next time! read more
