Busy place, always a good sign, the drinks were okay. Service was slow but friendly. Food was sub par, a couple people had the runs when they got home. I am hoping that this was just a very off night for the kitchen management. We specifically went there for their prime rib and they ran out on a Friday night before 6 o'clock. This was not the only out of stock item they ran out of baked potatoes, clam chowder and steak, after our order. This is not a reflection on the wait staff, but kitchen management. I totally understand if they have a lunch run on prime rib that they would be out of prime rib, but the fact that their steaks were frozen was ridiculous. It seems like common sense that if you are low on steaks to take some out of the freezer earlier in the day. Five of us ordered the steak and bake to replace the prime rib with baked potatoes. The steaks, they were all well done despite us ordering medium rare. We couldn't even return them because they were out of steaks. We ate the steaks, but it was not the most enjoyable meal I have ever had there. Normally the prime rib is spot on and deliciously seasoned but the steaks were just OK. It was almost comedic when she would come back to the table and say they were out of this or that. I felt sorry for her because she was in the tough position of facing the customers. Jennifer handled the whole process like a champ with a very good attitude. She did make it right by offering us a free dessert. When we didn't take that she did give us a little off the bill. It will be a while before we go back, but we probably will go back in hopes that this was just an off night. read more

I used to love coming here, was a regular until my own work schedule changed so I hadn't been able to come in for months. I would've given it 5 stars then when Sally from the Valley (Jen) and Amanda were regularly my bartenders and offered fantastic service. They protected me from creeps and made great cocktails, Jen even gave me a ride home one night when I was feeling a bit too drunk because I had skipped dinner. Things have clearly changed since those days, though. I came in with my girlfriend for lunch and was served by Marcie. She asked for our licenses and we showed them, she then made me find a secondary form of identification despite my license being perfectly valid. I have NEVER been asked to do that before and she was not friendly or welcoming towards us at all. She also took my girlfriend's license to the kitchen to show a cook, and then told us she had to do that because it was almost expired, which it was not for another 11 days, which we knew. She just moved to this state a few days earlier and we had just spent all morning at the licensing office and called it quits due to the long wait. After that we ordered food and drinks and went to sit outside, when we would normally have preferred to sit at the bar top, due to the discomfort we felt from Marcie. It was a hot day around lunchtime and we were thirsty and hungry. My girlfriend finished her regular glass sized margarita which was full of ice to the top, so I went up to order her another, and Marcie was judgemental to us and said "wow, already?". I felt like she was being homophobic towards us because she didn't talk to any of the other customers inside that way or treat them the way she treated my girlfriend and I as far as we could observe. We decided not to spend much more time there once we got there and took most of our food home to make margaritas ourselves at home. We were excited to try this place when they opened back up during the pandemic. We unfortunately didn't make it until last night when my mom was in town and wanted to try them. We sadly won't be back. The service was hit and miss. Walked in to no greeting, no sign letting us know to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. They had one server who looked like she was also bartending. Some blond chick was dressed as an employee but she was too busy chatting and tossing her hair around a big group of guys and a few women outside. She was of no help to the restaurant inside. Our server was alright, she looked like she was working twice as hard to keep people taken care of. She definitely wasn't super friendly though and only came by for drinks and food. We ordered nachos and the meat was disgustingly salty and overcooked and dry. There is no chicken option, only ground beef and the seasoning ruined it. We barely ate half of them as it was just too salty. The seasoning needs cut with another product or just ditch it altogether. I ordered the club sandwich, it was good but the side salad left a lot to be desired. They threw the 5 small green pieces on top and everything below it was white. I picked through it all looking for edible salad leaves and got nothing. Should have taken a pic at the end of what the salad really looked like. I get that prices are lower than other places we go to, but whyyyy use iceberg lettuce? It's bland, no flavor and negligible on nutrition. My club sandwich had nice leafy lettuce or Romaine on it but my salad was a plate of all white "lettuce" with a few green pieces in there. Had one bite and couldn't eat it, I don't know if it's their way of cutting costs or if they always serve iceberg as the salad. Either way I'd rather pay a couple bucks more to eat a real salad. read more

5/30/2020. Chili Review. Wow, excellent house made chili. I could tell right away they used glorious pig fat to saute their aromatics to start the hearty, thick broth of the stew. A nice touch was the addition of black beans, along with standard pintos. But neither encroached on the meatiness of the final product. Great flavor. Nice and cheesy. I was offered obligatory condiments, but refrained, because the chili had the legs to stand on it's own. This was an excellent bowl of red, and available on their menu every day. I thought dive bar when my hubby said the name, but it's really a nice place! And it has a kid friendly area for dining. I had a very hearty french dip, and required all 6'8" of my hubby to help me finish it. Their fries were house cut and fried perfectly. Our server was great, and we had nice chats with her as she was taking care of the whole dining area. She kept an eye on everyone and was a pro. It's very clean inside and they are very mindful keeping the social distancing under the current circumstances. I bet it could get pretty rowdy in the evenings, but I would have no problem bringing my youngest kids here for a nice breakfast or lunch. read more

Had lunch today with sister & B-i-L. Sister had French toast w/hash browns & eggs. I and B-i-L had Fish 'n Chips made with halibut. Nothing too radical but if I want fresh cut halibut fish n chips I will still head to Dave's Bar & Grill at Sprague and Pines. Haven't found better and I do look. We stopped here on our way to a wedding in Northern Idaho. It was about 3:00 PM on a Friday. The place was crowded, but you'd think we were the only ones there based on the great service. Attentive bartender/waitress Marcie was quick, accurate, and sweet. She put up with us asking all kinds of questions about their merch and ran back and forth until we had what we wanted. As for the food- great selection and very tasty. The beer was ice cold, as were the mugs. Such a fun little pit stop !!! read more

Stopped in for lunch, busy weekday. Waitress was ok, she was more lazy than anything and took a while to get us our menus, silverware, etc. I think she figured (along with the bartender) that they would get better tips from all of the men, thus we took a backseat being a couple of women. We had a realtor coupon which had a bunch of rules on its use, which wasn't pleasant by the time the bill came. I am sorry that Inslee is shutting down bars and restaurants again and I am sure it's very frustrating for the employee's, for this I am sorry. However, it's not my fault and I did not appreciate for being scolded this morning for asking for more coffee and being judged by other patrons who have behaved badly in the past. I am trying to patronize locally owned businesses, but when they treat me like my business is not appreciated or the server judges me to be some who I am not, it makes it hard for me to return Two days in a row when I asked for more coffee I was told "I'm busy, I am the only one here". Today I was also told that I had half a cup so I wasn't ready for more, she said she was a professional. I did have a half cup but it was luke warm. BTW the professional screwed up my order and I have the same type of eggs regularly. I am sympathetic to the trials of the virus and feel bad for those affected, but if you are a small locally owned business remember this will be over some day and you will want me to return, at this point I won't if I will be treated that badly read more
