The medspa was sold in December to new owners and the previous staff quit and noted unsafe practices. The new owner put his wife as the injector who is a family medicine physician with ER experience and has minimal experience with aesthetics or injections. Her license was temporarily suspended by the medical board in 2022 because she drank alcohol while at a shift at a different clinic. LOOK IT UP! I received lip filler 3 times within 2 weeks in March. Dr. Zahra overfilled the right side on my first visit, tried to move the filler on the second visit, and on the third visit she injected more to even it out and it was still uneven and clumpy. She doesn't know what she's doing. I disputed it with my credit card because of how terrible it looked and they sided with me. I received 1/3 pixel8 sessions that I prepaid for. Dr. Zahra switched from a .8mm needle to a .5mm needle in my first session and didn't reach the correct layer of my skin because I'm middle eastern with thicker skin. I texted them that I had no redness afterwards and she was shocked. She said she ASKED HER INSTRUCTOR if the energy transferred because even she wasn't sure. She even said she would keep giving me services until I saw results -- truth is I just want an experienced injector. I don't want to have someone inexperienced continue to inject things in my face. When I disputed the lip filler with my bank, Saheem Momin said HE WOULD NO LONGER HONOR THE CREDITS I PURCHASED WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. He is stealing over $1200+ from me. He even tried to say all sales are final but now wont perform the services per the contracts and won't give me a refund??? Fraudulent practice run by unethical individuals. During my last appointment, I received a facial with dermaplaning. The esthetician was so rough that I left with significant irritation followed by peeling and scabbing that lasted for about a week. I've had facials here before and have had dermaplaning elsewhere, and I have never experienced anything like this. Once the initial swelling and redness had gone down, it looked like I had cuts from the dermaplaning. After this experience, I emailed the studio to cancel my membership. Instead of processing my request, I was told I had to call. The employee I spoke with was dismissive and informed me that I could not receive the cancellation paperwork until **after** I was charged AGAIN in August. She also mentioned a "cancellation fee," despite that fee not appearing anywhere in the membership agreement. She promised to send me a copy of the agreement but never did, so I had to locate it myself. The membership agreement states that the membership requires a minimum of three recurring billing cycles, after which members may cancel before their next billing date with no additional billing simply by contacting the location. None of this is the case. My membership began in May, and I have already completed the three May, June, and July billing cycles (although I hope to get a refund because I did not go in July because of this experience, and I feel like June should be refunded because of how awful my service was). The employee claimed May did not count because I supposedly received a new-client rate. That is incorrect. I was not a new client and did not receive a new-client rate (see attached statements where I was charged for the membership in May and for charges before becoming a member). The information I was given over the phone did not match the written membership agreement, and there appears to be no corporate phone number available to resolve disputes. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Rice Village location or the HiSkin membership program at all.

They have a special introductory offer for first time clients with their "Really Good Facial" for $109 instead of the normal $140. You can also add the dermaplaning for free with this special (normally it's $65). With all that being said, from start to finish, the experience was relaxing, professional, and truly rejuvenating. My esthetician, Ashley, took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the process during my 60 min facial making me feel completely at ease. The dermaplaning left my skin feeling incredibly smooth, radiant, and refreshed - I've never felt my face this soft before! Not to mention she showed me all of the peach fuzz and gunk she pulled off of my face and I was shocked at the amount of dead skin cells that was just sitting on my face. I can't recall every product that was used and how it benefited me but I can say the entire treatment was gentle yet effective, I walked out with a beautiful and youthful glow. I can already see a difference in my complexion and how my makeup goes on so smoothly and effortlessly. At the end of my facial, Ashley gave me a list of products she used and her personal recommendations. Now, they do try to upsell you on the products used at the end and try to close the deal with a membership. I spent more than what I was intending to. I purchased two products (resurfacing enzyme polish and the strawberry rhubarb masque) and I'm excited to use them at home. Since this was a special treat, I can't see myself committing to a membership but maybe a once a year facial for a special occasion. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend for anyone looking to give their skin a boost!
