Absolutely one of the best resort in Oceanside. This resort was close to everything. Top notch customer service from check in to room service, evening was pleasant. They upgraded my room to ocean view and loved the view. Waking up in the morning with wave crashing as my Mother Nature alarm clock was pleasant. I absolutely loved their robes. Let me start by saying we stayed here for seven nights. I feel we got a full experience of how poorly this hotel is being operated. Pros: located across the street from the beach, a newer hotel, some of the employees were genuinely trying to help. Cons: Sneaky resort fees at checkout our total ended up being $571 per night which I don't mind paying if the stay was worth it but it was far from it. The hotel rooms are newer but they are aging quickly. There's a few pics attached of how our room looked. The customer service was by far the worst experience I've ever had. We ended up calling 3-4 times trying to get ahold of somebody for several days for simple things like towels, waters, housekeeping, and to have valet pull our car up. The front desk would say somebody was on the way and after waiting several hours we would call down again and they would have no recollection of a simple request like clean towels. Housekeeping was basically non existent. The entire week of our stay they only made our bed. Never cleaned the showers, bathroom, and sometimes never even took out our trash and used towels. I also attached a picture of housekeeping stacking trash and towels by our door instead of taking them out. I have never experienced anything like this at any hotel and certainly not for the amount of money we were paying per night. The street where the hotel is located is loud at night you can hear the train coming by every hour (railroad track is right by the hotel) along with loud cars and people, it's a dog friendly hotel (there were dogs everywhere), the elevators were often broken and there were long waits to use it. Overall: We felt completely ripped off and mistreated. I would never recommend this hotel or stay here again. read more

Stayed at the Seabird Resort over the weekend as I attended a wedding in Oceanside. Although I did not spend too much time at the hotel, my overall experience was very positive. We arrived around midnight and were greeted in a very friendly manner by the front desk agent. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything about the hotel to us in thorough detail before sending us off to our room. When we arrived to our room, there was a rollaway placed in it, and the room looked very clean and nice. Due to a last min change of plans, we needed the extra bed. I had called the hotel on my car ride from San Diego airport to the hotel to arrange this last min and Diana was amazing and incredibly helpful in helping me to arrange this. The hotel itself is located at the end of the road, on the ocean. The atmosphere is very appropriate to the setting. It seems renovated and is tropical, airy, and bright. There is a pool on the roof and if you're staying here, you can also access the pool at the sister property across the street. One of the most notable things about the room was the bed, It was incredibly comfortable! The shower was also quite expansive and featured a hose attachments as well as a waterfall attachment. These were some of our favorites things within the room. This is definitely a great hotel that centrally located and we would definitely stay again if in the area! read more

Wow! We just stayed one night at the Seabird Hotel and were literally blown away. The hotel is beautiful, we love the vibe and the decor. The front desk service is outstanding. The gentleman explained everything clearly and helped us made dinner reservation at the onsite restaurant, which was very busy. Our room has a partial ocean view on the 5th floor overseeing the pool area. The room is spacious, clean, and has a sophisticated feel to it. The balcony is very nice. Everything in the room wows me, like the bathrobes with seabirds stitching. Even the water bottles and paper cups have seabird prints on them. The beds are very comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Piper Restaurant. The food, drinks and services were all outstanding. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. Found this hotel on a whim, and decided to give it a shot. This hotel definitely lived up to its expectations. It's absolutely beautiful, and just about a block from the beach. The decor is gorgeous and beachy (just what I would expect from a seaside hotel). The rooms are a great size for a family of 4. We had a balcony view of the ocean, and it was amazing to wake up to the sound of waves each day. The hotel offers room service and a late night menu. All is delicious. We ate breakfast daily at the restaurant downstairs, and it was so delicious! Highly recommend the French toast! I also loved how kid-friendly this hotel is. They have a slew of activities for kids (more during summer and high season months). We ended up doing the "make a stuffed animal" activity, and my kids loved it! The staff was great, and it was truly a memorable time. Valet parking is available and very convenient, but it comes at a premium. Still worth it in my opinion. There's a lot of restaurants and shops within walking distance to this hotel as well, for those without a car. It's also near the train that you can take down to San Diego. Lots to do and see, and you will get your money's worth here! read more

This place is gorgeous. The aesthetic is amazing. Whoever did the design literally knocked this one out of the park. Minus the side of the beds. I hit my shins about 4 separate times and went down on one of them. I still have a bump on my tibia but yolo. The pool was great and poolside food was good. My son got stung by a bee and may have frightening the entire hotel by screaming like he was dying but the staff were so calm and helped him right away with getting the stinger out and some bee sting ointment/pain relief. I would bring the kids back here again. Only complaint would be the valet put my brand new LV luggage duffle on the bottom of the cart and all kinds of stuff on top of it and messed up a brand new bag. It happened when we first arrived and I was pretty peeved. read more

I wanted to love this place but didn't. It is a cute small boutique hotel by the beach BUT it is overpriced and the staff either don't seem well trained or are just lacking. I came with a group of friends for their Sunday brunch. When we went to get our food a lot of the trays of food were empty. The food they did have out that should have been hot or at least warm were on the cold side. Their pastries seemed dried out and old . They had a waffle and fried chicken station and bagel station with only one guy working who seemed overwhelmed. At the end of the brunch, we waited for 45 min just to get our check. I am not sure where our waiter was most of the time. For a $42 brunch this was definitely a disappointment. I have been to much better brunch spots for sure! We then went to the pool. It was ok. Kind of a crowded spot and again the pool service was definitely lacking . We had booked lounge chairs and no one seemed to know where we had reserved our chairs and finally just said "settle here until we figure it out". Waiter service again took forever. Lots of kids at this hotel. Definitely not a spot if you want a romantic getaway or anything like that. This place overall is meh.. Wouldn't have any desire to return. read more

My husband and I chose the Seabird as our wedding venue in January of 2024, and from the first tour we took to the event itself in December, we had a great experience working with them. Rebecca was a fantastic resource, having overseen a ton of events at the hotel, and my planner Rachel (Tres Chic Affairs) had a great rapport with her which made everything so seamless and easy. Rebecca and the team were super open and flexible when it came to little things like having unique signature cocktails, being flexible with the food (which we got tons of positive feedback about! get the carrot soup!) and helping find space within the hotel itself for our first look. Our friends and family who stayed at the hotel for the weekend had nothing but great things to say about the experience. I stayed at the Seabird Resort this weekend and was blown away by this property! I love that the amenities are shared between their sister hotel, Mission Pacific. Such a wonderful location. Impeccable! We have stayed at many Hyatt properties being a globalist, this was truly one of the best experiences. Love everything about this new resort- location, customer service, tasteful designs in both public areas and the rooms. The various staff from Front desk to Housekeeping to doormen, valet, and ladies by the pool always greeted us with good morning, have a nice day, welcome back, have a good Evening, etc. The restaurants wait staff were just as friendly! Love the wood library and the multiple water refill stations! Thanks for being eco friendly. It was also a plus we can hop over to the sister resort - Mission Pacific, right across the street. The 9am Sculpt class at their fitness center/ gym was so fun. The yoga class at OMA West taught by Danielle was wonderful too. It's a pretty resort and we liked being able to walk everywhere downtown oside. The location is prime, but unfortunately as a couple it's not the most romantic, quiet getaway. Plus they have hidden fees they do not tell you about upon booking. The front desk claimed they were "incidentals" when we checked in- but we never got our money back for it. We booked a king suite/partial ocean view, but it was facing the pool. The kids were super loud all day long. Forget trying to read a book on the balcony or listen to the waves. Listen we love kids! But it was abnormally loud. We think because it's tucked away the sound echoes off the building? Also in the morning we tried to order coffee to our room and they said it would take 45 min. My family of 4 (2 adults/2 kids) stayed here during Memorial weekend and our room was great, had a nice balcony with pool and ocean view, the room was nice and clean. Staff were so wonderful! We decided to come back for Labor Day weekend and expecting to have a great experience again, but what a disappointment! I usually check the room first before unpacking, unfortunately, I didn't this time. Make sure you check their robes that's provided because they don't wash those either. I found nasty snot marks after I had it on after my shower! The hotel allows dogs and the room we had was used by guests who brought their dog. We found a big wet urine spot on the carpet and noticed that there were so much crumbs/stuff on the carpet so we know it was not vacuumed or cleaned. My husband called the front desk to let them know and was hoping that we could change our room but they didn't because they were at capacity. My husband had a terrible allergic reaction all weekend. He couldn't sleep due to sneezing and runny nose even though he took allergy pills. They said they would send housekeeping to come do spot cleaning and that took a couple of hours for them to do and my husband asked the guy to vacuum the entire room. My husband spoke to the manager and all he did was gave us $100 credit! Honestly, it should've been more than that for what my husband suffered and urine in the carpet! It's such a cute boutique hotel but with what we experienced this past weekend, I cannot recommend this hotel! You're a Hyatt, everything should be cleaned and changed, carpets should be vacuumed after each guests stays. read more

Staff person upon entry was lukewarm which is not the norm for a Hyatt owned property. No Hyatt members upgrades because they were at capacity. Views are lovely if you get Partial or Oceanfront but it's very loud if you're overseeing the pool. Went there to relax and refresh but just couldn't get comfortable 100%. It was probably the pool noise. It's a family friendly hotel and therefore there are lots of kids having the time of their life in that small pool. Cool seeing them have fun but I didn't get any sleep until after 10p each night. At night it was peaceful. They have a channel in the room that broadcasts the view of the pier and surfers 24/7. Loved that! They have a great patio bar with gorgeous views of the ocean. Not sure if you can just sit there as a solo traveller. The tables have seats of four so you might get on their nerves if you sit too long. Who knows. But it's beautiful! The food is good but gluten free options are minimal. Mobile phone did not work - had to use their unsecured wifi a few times to get text messages. For this reason I won't be returning. I missed important calls due to not having secure internet access. Rooms are well appointed. Got a bit of a rash after using their bathrobes. I don't know why. Maybe the detergent is strong which makes sense. There was a stain on one robe and both were too small to wear comfortably. Chairs on the balcony have hard arms on them and hurt to sit in but the chair cushions were nice. Housekeeping was very kind and prompt. I don't know if I recommend this hotel for solo travellers looking for a peaceful view of the ocean for a length of time. Maybe more suited for parents who need a balcony to watch their preteens and kiddos swim. All but the aforementioned staffer at check in were super nice and accommodating. But this place just isn't comfy for me. Advice: if you have to stay there as a solo traveller, pick a premium suite or the premier ocean view so you can focus on a peaceful stay. Do not rely on or have your hopes up for an upgrade. Make sure you don't need secure internet access because it may be spotty or unavailable. Remember that check in is at 4pm and not 3pm. Gorgeous area. Look too good to be true in some ways...and it was. But happy to say I experienced it though I don't think sitting on a balcony looking at the ocean should be $550+ a day. It is a prime location and other than the parking fee I think it's a great value for what you get at this place. It was a beautiful experience and our time was enhanced by courtesy and consideration of the staff. We enjoyed our room and the newness of everything.  It was nice to interact with the staff and utilize many of the amenities that add to the value of this place. From the moment we arrived, we understood why this hotel is a part of the Destination collection of Hyatt brands. We were welcomed and checked in by Sarah. After valeting our car Sarah was our first impression of the hotel and she set the tone for our stay.  When we first checked into our room it was technically an Ocean View, but we wanted to confirm that it was. Because of our earlier check-in, they put us in the room that was available. It was nice, but because of our concerns, Sarah was able to move us to another room that had an Ocean View and pool view within 10 minutes. It was great service and we appreciated the efforts to make sure we got off to a good start. Because of my birthday, we booked through Hyatt Prive. Without going into too many details it added some additional perks to the stay. After settling into our room Sarah came and delivered a bottle of champagne and a card from Melisa the Travel Director of the resort. I spoke to Melisa before we arrived and appreciated the gesture. We didn't have too many expectations, but they were exceeded early in our stay. We ate at the Rooftop Bar at the Mission Pacific (wrote a decent review for it) and by chance, we met a gentleman named Trevor. I will just say that Trevor provided exemplary service and enhanced the overall reason that we were there in Oceanside i.e. my birthday. He connected the dots of the occasion and it all started with a conversation that we had on Wednesday night while on the rooftop. He was great and really went above and beyond even beyond Buzz Lightyear. He was very detail-oriented and took notes of our conversation used those observations to plan things with my girlfriend to surprise me and make our stay more memorable. My birthday was on Thursday and he was able to get a cake in our room while my girlfriend and I were out to dinner. Notice I said cake. I didn't say a slice of cake from the hotel restaurant, I said a cake. A chocolate cake with a tennis ball fondant pop frosting (see picture below). I want to thank Trevor for being a standard of what Hyatt is and it's not that he works there, it's that he is the type of person that you would want others to recognize. I don't know if he is this remarkable to other guests and I don't want too many guests to expect the same experience that I had, but I want to make sure that his efforts are acknowledged. My girlfriend arranged a couples spa date for us at Sunny's Spa Beauty and Lounge. She was able to communicate with Trevor what time we were going to be there and he made it happen. Although we didn't personally meet Marissa(Spa Director), through Trevor she was able to get us a couples room and it was a great overall experience. I want to thank Stephanie and Sarah for our Spa treatments. Those ladies were fantastic! I didn't go in as a spa guy, but I left out as a Spa Gentleman and informed my girlfriend that I now understand the whole spa thing. Trevor informed a gentleman by the name of Wael of our preferred lemonade drinks and to our surprise, they were waiting for us after our treatments. The spa was just another thing that added to the overall quality of our stay and I would suggest it even if you're not a guest at the hotel.  I consider myself handsome and left the spa feeling beautiful .  Even with the June gloom, I can see why it's called Sunny's. I know this is an extremely long review but I think it's worth writing. I want to thank the staff for being a part of the moments that made new memories for us and made my birthday stay special. I was just happy to be there. They make me want to return. The Seabird Resort should not be your last resort when you're in San Diego county. Keep in mind this place is only 3 weeks old. It's not even completed. If our experience is any indication of what to expect upon completion then I feel confident with my review. They are receptive to feedback and we will definitely be back to try their sister hotel to see how much better it is upon completion. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place for our weekend gateway. This hotel own by Hyatt just opened last year. We booked through American travel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, when we arrived our room was upgraded to partial ocean view courtesy of American express. We also booked the spa at the same day. They hold our luggage and we went straight to the Sunny spa in 3rd floor. The room was very bright and spacious with direct access to the pool. The bed is firm which i like and the bathroom is big with rain shower. I liked that the toilet is separated with a door. They even have steamer for your clothes. My husband and I noticed the smell of the towels, it smells soo good!! We had breakfast downstairs at the Piper's. They offer buffet style breakfast with charcuterie. Its $40 per person, coffee and fresh juice not included. We received a $80 credit for breakfast per day for being Amex member. Overall it was a very good experience!! read more

Our stay at this hotel was delightful! rooms are spacious, VERY clean, and thoughtfully designed. The resort is completely new, so every detail is pristine. We love that modern beach house feel. Each room comes with its own Illy espresso machine for that morning coffee to welcome the sunrise from your balcony, as you look out into the ocean. The shower is also effectively designed to keep water in, which says a lot about quality control during design and construction. The grounds are kept clean. Pool is heated, w a jacuzzi available. Get the strawberry rhubarb cocktail as you lounge by the pool watching the sunset on the ocean. The staff was really friendly, very attentive. From the valet, front desk to room service the hotel staff is amazing. Very personable and so welcoming. We stayed in room 204 overlooking the Pacific Ocean and couldn't get over the view. The room was nicely appointed with a high end beach theme (cap cod style) and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed the robes and slippers that were provided. The soak in tub looks towards the ocean should you choose to keep the door open while you soak in the tub with the beautiful bath bombs that are also provided. The room also comes with a nice sized refrigerator and coffee maker with a delicious coffee selection. The location of this resort is perfect. The hotel faces the Pacific Ocean. Just steps away from your hotel room will have you perfectly situated on the shores of Oceanside beach. *of note, the hotel has a locked surfboard rack should you decide to bring your own board* There is a movie theater just to the right of the hotel. You will also find a nice selection of local restaurants. The Oceanside pier offers bike rentals and an array of food stands. You can also find a variety of restaurants and bars all within walking distance from The Seabird Resort. I recently stayed at Seabird for one night. I love the location , the design, the dinning options but there was an issue with my room's view. I paid for a partial Ocean view but the view is blocked by trees so there's is no Ocean view, that was room 241 Another issue was the matress, it felt uneven like there was a topper. Ratings are based on the entire stay. First off, the location is amazing. Right in front of the beach. So you get what you paid for. This resort is new and opened 1 year ago. The area is surrounded by small shops, food, lots of walking on the boardwalk and going to the pier. Lots of people walking on the streets. Upon arrival we were greeted at the valet parking. There is no parking in the hotel itself unless you want to pay $44/day for valet parking. There is public parking across the hotel on the next street. Not sure if they charge. We opted for valet and didn't have to worry about our vehicle. They have a private indoor parking behind the resort for valet. The entrance smelled wonderful throughout the resort. The lobby had a coastal theme. Also has 3 diff restaurants on different floors. The attendant was friendly and attentive. All the staff were friendly and greeted their guests. We arrived a few hrs early before check in and was able to check in early which was nice. Very nice that the resort allowed pets. We had a 10# Maltese. It cost $200 for his entire stay. Our room was beautiful, decor elegant and the bathroom is also nice. Our view was the best. We had the pool and ocean view from our balcony. The room had smart air conditioning. There were 2 robes and 2 slippers in the closet to use. You can pay for them if you want to take them home, pricey! We didn't dine in all the restaurants we went out to walk and ate around the area instead. Lots of food places to choose from. Just use the Yelp app and it will show food places to eat. We didn't get to use the full resort because we had fur baby. So next time we will return without our pet so we can go everywhere. In the afternoon lots of cruising on the streets. I had breakfast included in my hotel package. When I arrived at the restaurant, the host informed me that I would need to wait for about 30 minutes, so I added my name to the waiting list and waited outside. After waiting for around an hour without any contact, I decided to go back and entered the restaurant. Once inside, the service was poor, the food was unappetizing, and the portions were very small. When I asked for a napkin, they brought me a crumpled one. The staff did not look at the guests and the service was extremely slow. Overall, I was very disappointed as the service did not meet the guests' needs. While the hotel itself was excellent, the breakfast service made me not want to return. I also felt a bit disregarded, possibly because I am Asian. It would be great if the service could be improved. read more

This place is a total rip off. I paid $50 for two drinks and they were terrible drinks! Plus they add in their own gratuity...shocker! Super over priced and overrated. The library upstairs looks terrible and totally neglected. Staff has an entitled attitude and the prices are price gouging at its finest. Came here for our baby moon and everything was spectacular. We booked with points and were offered an ocean view upgrade at check in. Service was delightful and the suite was spacious with two bathrooms and a beautiful ocean view. The noice of the train wasn't too bad. We had an included breakfast which had a lot of variety and was delicious. The pool was beautiful with a nice view. Valet attendants were kind and helpful (were able to charge my ev upon request). We stayed the weekend if a wedding and it was fun to watch the set up! Very highly recommend for a staycation! read more

Maybe we were here on an off day but wow! What a completely awful experience - 1 - booked a 2 queen room, they couldn't accommodate and stuck us in a 1 bed room 2 - dumped a rollaway (cot) off without setting it up 3 - had to ask multiple times to have the bed set-up 4 - couldn't call down to guest services when the light in my closet wouldn't go off - phone didn't work at all 5 - I walked downstairs 2x because I couldn't call to get the light to go off As of 10:30, light still on...no on the way to fix it Total complete train wreck. Don't recommend! The area isn't quite what we thought a lot of homeless in the area. Seabird is not worth the price you pay a night. NOT a clean facility (hair everywhere, dirty pool area.) beds are extremely uncomfortable, Piper is way overpriced with very little options on the menu, bar drinks are 3/10. read more
