Went here for their "Girls Dinner" night with my sister, and the place is so cute! I do wish we had been seated in the main dining area, but I didn't mind being in the other room. The music was great and really fit the ambiance. I will say our waiter gave more car salesman than waiter vibes but he was nice enough, and we had a good experience overall. I enjoyed my pasta dish, and my sister really enjoyed her salmon. We had a lovely night and would definitely come back!

Ambiance is nice! Can't even tell this is the same place that was there before!! Service was great! We didnt have dinner - just chips, which were delicious! We would come back!

Nice place. Visited with family for some drinks. One we found the entrance, we asked if we could join our group. We were taken to our group and our waitress quickly took our drink requests. Shortly after, the drinks were delivered. There were lots of draft beer options and crafted cocktails. Service was fast and friendly. We'll be back again.

Burger with no blue cheese hardly

So the drinks were good- sat at the bar and ordered drinks and a burger. Burger was good except it was supposed to have blue cheese on it and had hardly any! Then when I paid in cash the bartender did not give me ANY change so basically gave herself a 35% tip. Not cool. Probably won't go back.

The Filet, with garlic mashers and green beans.

The brass sprouts is smothered in maple syrup and kicks off the brussel sprouts which also have bacon bits and Parmesan to flavor it up.

We started with a delicious array of appetizers and later sat down to a plated meal. First salad then preordered main course. We provided guests with 4 options in advance (steak, chicken, salmon and pasta). Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Finished up with dessert. Assortment provided by In the Weeds and they allowed us to bring in a special cake. Lastly, In the Weeds also provided expertly arranged flowers that matched our color palette perfectly. The evening truly embodied a celebration worthy of a 60th anniversary!

The booth I sat in was ran down, you shouldn't sink into the booths when you find that perfect "@ss spot" being used for over 5 years. (Pet peeve of mines, this is why I hate booths). The menu is sort of all over the place with no cohesiveness. The price points for the quality and quantity is off for me, way off. I wanted the wedge salad but was told they have no ranch... "how don't you have ranch" I ordered the chicken piccata, it was nothing to write home about. Strike two when the waiter asked did I "need any salt and pepper, hot sauce". (Eyebrow raise, hot sauce!?!?) They warmed the frozen chicken breast up nice. The sauce was good but a burnt flavor lingered. Not sure if it was the sauce or the burnt vegetables. The mashed potatoes were congealed and flavorless. After I found a dime sized black flat ball of something in the mashed potatoes I had enough. I looked at all the beautiful dishes on yelp before I came here. ***WARNING*** if you don't see good pics and reviews within 10 months or so old, DONT DO IT! I can imagine the locals are helping to keep this place alive...

The Martyred Slaves of Time…read more It was our wedding anniversary. Time to break the decade-long suspense: "Strap it on, Darlin', we're headin' to the Roost!" Somewhere back in the mists of architectural time, some cinder-block builder wandered the state, stacking block, carrying hod, and built a whole bunch of bunkers. I mean bars. Each one situated at a crossroad, each angled to face, exactly, that crossroad. Genius? Or merely a stab at defying the soul-crushing monotony that is masonry? No matter, the Roost is bunker on the outside, 1950's rumpus room on the inside. Six guys sitting on one side of the bar, doing the round-robin smoking outside routine, like watching birds on the feeder, taking their turns. Younger bartender, full of charm if not grace. Old coot at the corner of the bar. (Another old coot, as I was there, too.) Each tavern comes with that one guy, who does the odd fix-em-up work around the joint for a couple free snorts. This was that guy. I wanted to ask him SO many things: How the years impartially grind you down, like a water-driven millstone, until you're nothing but bone-dust; how the half-century of guzzling Old Overholt leaves you literally perforated and yet you continue to spend your days filtering hootch through your liver; how in the end time crushes us all, rich or poor, farmer or king. Instead, I nodded and grunted, which is all you should ever do, your first time at the Roost. Which may be my last time at the Roost. Here's why this place gets four stars: You know it ain't elegant. Hell, it really ain't even that civilized. But what you want is a shot? A beer? Maybe some remote chance at illicit romance, whether inter- or intra-species? This is your place. They don't pretend. On any level. They know what you want. Cheap drunk. Dark, hence the bunker. No hassles. This is the kind of place where, if you were willing to look closely enough and had a keen eye, you might see how the edge of the bar had been diminished, ever so slightly, warn down by three generations of beer guts. Now that is something. Huh? Yeah, at least there's that. "Always be drunk. That's it! The great imperative! In order not to feel Time's horrid fardel bruise your shoulders, grinding you into the earth, Get drunk and stay that way. On what? On wine, poetry, virtue, whatever. But get drunk. And if you sometimes happen to wake up on the porches of a palace, in the green grass of a ditch, in the dismal loneliness of your own room, your drunkenness gone or disappearing, ask the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock, ask everything that flees, everything that groans or rolls or sings, everything that speaks, ask what time it is; and the wind, the wave, the star, the bird, the clock will answer you: "Time to get drunk! Don't be martyred slaves of Time, Get drunk! Stay drunk! On wine, virtue, poetry, whatever!" -- "Big Chuck" Baudelaire
