I stopped in on a Monday evening about 8pm. The place was practically empty. Here's the meh, bad and the ugly... The booth I sat in was ran down, you shouldn't sink into the booths when you find that perfect "@ss spot" being used for over 5 years. (Pet peeve of mines, this is why I hate booths). The menu is sort of all over the place with no cohesiveness. The price points for the quality and quantity is off for me, way off. I wanted the wedge salad but was told they have no ranch... "how don't you have ranch" I ordered the chicken piccata, it was nothing to write home about. Strike two when the waiter asked did I "need any salt and pepper, hot sauce". (Eyebrow raise, hot sauce!?!?) They warmed the frozen chicken breast up nice. The sauce was good but a burnt flavor lingered. Not sure if it was the sauce or the burnt vegetables. The mashed potatoes were congealed and flavorless. After I found a dime sized black flat ball of something in the mashed potatoes I had enough. KAYLA. That's all I have to say. Probably one of the best servers I have had...ever. She was so amazingly sweet, checked on us all the time and was overall our favorite part of our evening. We all said that we were going to come back just to visit her The food was quite good. All of us got a steak salad ($24) and it didn't disappoint. A nice steak, cooked how we asked, a lot of potatoes and roasted carrots in it. We all had plenty of cocktails and each one was delish. The bartender deserves kudos too! The mussels were fresh and the broth with the wonderful withfresh bread was just as good as the mussels. The calamari was tender and lightly fried with a tasty aioli. The shrimp in the shrimp pasta was perfectly cooked. The reason for 4 stars due to the beverages. The bottle of Chardonnay was not chilled, same as the beers. This place is a hidden treasure! We were looking for a Sunday brunch spot and this came up. We sat outside and it was such a wonderful experience. We split the deviled eggs (yum) wedge salad with grilled romaine (yum). I'm a dressing nut and tried their green goddess and blue cheese. Both were AMAZING. My friend had the mushroom toast and I had the hot chicken sandwich. Both were huge and delicious. The server was sweet and efficient. Brunch is limited and the host said we must come back to try a lunch or dinner on another night. . It's in what I guess is also a gift/flower shop-hence the cute name. We loved this place so much, we went there twice the week we were in town. The owner is such a welcoming, personable guy. Staff is incredibly friendly as well. Food is FRESH, healthy options... DELICIOUS!! Patio out back was lovely. Add a good white wine n it was even better. First, the fabric on the bench seats were torn and one side of the table was slightly sunken in. We were served lukewarm tap water with no ice--which was not available. We reviewed the restaurant before we made reservations but didn't realize the "good reviews" were from several years ago. The three appetizers and entrees were good; however, for the beverages, they were either out of the beer two of the people chose or they no longer carried it. So, they ordered diet Cokes which were delivered in a can with a straw--no ice, no refills. We ordered pasta, a sandwich and a salmon dinner. None of the meals included salad or bread--the latter of which we ordered two slices at $1.00 per slice and $.50 for the pre-packaged cube of butter. The person who ordered the pasta asked for grated cheese and was told they didn't have it. We would not recommend this restaurant because the menu is VERY limited--not at all like the website offerings. The food was good but the ambiance was not. Our server was a bit annoying stopping at our table eight times to see if there was anything we needed or wanted. It didn't matter because they didn't have it! All in all, for a table for three at a cost over $150 with no salad, soup, drinks or dessert was a bit excessive for a neighborhood restaurant that did not resemble their website. There are several other options in the area and my suggestion is to cater them first. read more

First time here. I understand it has changed ownership recently. Looking at the menu at first, I wasn't overly impressed. Ordered drinks which took a bit to get. Cauliflower was excellent. Ordered the tots with pork. They were good. So the food was good. My drink was very good (purple rain). My husband ordered a jack and coke. Came in a rocks glass. The Jack was $7 but they added $3 for what really amounted to a splash of coke. So be mindful of that if you order a cocktail. Our server was adorable and did a great job. Sadly the owner never bothered to come over and there were only two other people in the dining room. Bread charge is $2.50 for two pieces of bread. So not sure if we would return based on this experience per se. Hidden charges are a turn off to me. Unless things change, they could be out of business in six months. While it wasn't a horrible experience, there are other places to go. I was a restaurant evaluator for many years and have been to many places so I know what works and what doesn't. read more

This was an EXPERIENCE! First of all it's a restaurant AND florist. And, when everyone asked how I located it I explain it took me one week to research it using the following criteria: proximity (somewhere almost equal distance for most attendees - various parts of Cleveland, Akron, and Elyria), a place no one had been previously, something unique about the space, and something where the group could be together and folks could drop in and out with comfort for 20-30 guests! I have to be honest, upon arrival to this place from the outside, I was nervous. It's a tiny parking lot, that looks like a strip mall type store front, with just a store for the florist in front. But the reviews looked promising so we went in for dinner on a Saturday night. We were led down a short hall into the back dining room that has a full bar to the left. It was like entering a magical land. All my fears were settled as we sat in the middle of the room with a wonderful waitress, whose name I cannot believe I can't recall now, with the great ambiance and lighting. Tattoo on her chest, incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and drinks, conversated with us. She was awesome!! We started with drinks. Purple Rain, The Leo, a Manhattan, Nipsey Hussle.... OK there were more and they were all great. Very well crafted. I explained that I was vegan, my daughter wanted a steak, my uncle is a foodie, and his partner was dairy free. This waitress hooked us up! My daughter ordered the steak, asparagus, and the pierogis. She said the steak was just slightly undercooked but it was incredible and actually said that if it was cooked more it might have ruined it. My uncle got the chicken picatta, and his partner got the salmon. They both raved about their meals. I of course had to ask what the chef could make off menu for me as a vegan. Mother of God did she nail it!! Vegan or not, go there immediately and ask them to make this dish. You will be so happy you did. And to finish the wonderful meal me and my uncle's partner shared a vegan strawberry ice cream. I don't know if she or I inhaled the majority of it but we were so happy to actually have an option for dessert! So awesome to have a place that can cater to all dietary needs. Go there. At first glance, the place looks beautiful. Looks clean too. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area. Small but lovely. I wish I could give the food a good review but unfortunately I can not. The chicken sandwich was not packed with flavor as was promised by the waiter. The Elk sandwich was lacking in flavor. Way way undercooked. It was raw in the middle. I did not return the food because it had sauce and toppings on it like onion and mushrooms. The waiter did ask me if I wanted to have them cook it longer but it would have been a big mess. I don't like to waste food so I endured the sandwich, thanked them, paid my bill and left. We left disappointed. I would not recommend this place to any one I know. read more

Presentation was great, food was mediocre. Service was a bit slow, but the server working our area seemed to be doing the best she could with the large number of people in the restaurant. Had the hot chicken with homemade pickles. Didn't realize this was just a normal chicken breast with a hot sauce (Franks?) drizzled on top. And the pickles were almost non existent. Had a glass of the Cabernet, which wasn't that good, but the Manhattan made up for it. Deviled eggs were good too. Back dining room was way to loud for my liking, but to be expected with the vaulted ceiling without any acoustical dampening. So this was my third time here. I've had decent experience in the past. However this time was not good. Server was great. I wish I had remembered her name. However she did let my drink go dry with out offering more at the end of my meal. So I went in at 4:15 very, we sat down ordered some apps. Took a little while for those but nearly as long as it took for a Steak Salad and a cuban sandwich to come out. When asked we were told most people were just now coming to work. Steak Salad was very underwhelming for $24 and the steak was over cooked. I didn't say anything because the food took a long time to begin with. the Cuban sandwich was very light on the proteins. I should h ave taken a picture. I skipped the Key Lime Pie since the rest of the meal was disappointing. Also learned the use vegetable oil for the fries etc. Why? This is supposed to be a place that's a cut above in terms of quality. Perhaps not so much. With tip the bill came to $76. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Cute spot in North Royalton that features a bar, patio, dining area and florist. Eclectic indeed. We had dinner with another couple and sat in the main dining area. The calamari app was perfectly cooked and enjoyed by all. I had the poke bowl and my gf had the pork chop. The poke bowl was really tasty with the tuna a standout. She loved her pork chop, tasty and juicy with a light cream sauce. Service was excellent. She knew everything about anything on the menu and stopped by just the right amount of times. This place is a hidden gem! We tried it because of the high Yelp ratings and we were not disappointed. There are two areas to sit: a typical restaurant-type seating area right as you walk in the front doors, and a bar area in the back. They also have flowers and local artwork for sale out in front. We ended up in the bar area and it was very nice. It had the feel of an upscale restaurant as opposed to a typical bar. I'm a seafood guy, so I tried the halibut. It was great; I'd definitely order it again. Although next time I visit, I'll probably try the Cuban sandwich that looked and sounded really good. My wife had the steak, which was a top sirloin. She enjoyed it. They have Happy Hour specials on appetizers, so In the Weeds is a good "after work" option. In the Weeds is great. We've been twice and will certainly visit again. You can easily make reservations on their website, so I'd recommend doing that just to be safe. read more

We booked the Mother's Day brunch buffet, for a party of 9 to celebrate our Mom and Grandma. And when I say it was the WORST MEAL I've ever been too, it truly was. We were sat in a back room on high top tables; every single table was wobbly. My 90-year-old Grandma struggled to sit down on the high chairs. Service was terribly slow, we did not have an assigned server, it was a struggle just to get a drink, when I got my diet coke it was warm and, in a can, no ice given. The buffet was 85% empty, cold food including SHRIMP was NOT ON ICE, hot food, not on warming trays, not warm, NOT SAFE TO EAT... and being served out of throw away aluminum pans. It was a BUFFET, with practically NO FOOD. They restocked some sort of enchiladas, all of them stuck together, so you couldn't even grab one. They RAN OUT OF ALL DESSERTS, at a mother's day buffet?!?! Chicken piccata came with brunch, we all were served COLD entrees, we sent them back, and again were served COLD entrees. We gave up and decided to ask for to-go boxes to heat up our entrees to eat at home. And they RAN OUT OF TO-GO BOXES, and we were told they RAN OUT OF FOOD. Poorly managed, NOT SAFE TO EAT HERE...DO NOT GO HERE. All of our meals should have been comped. A call to a health inspector is warranted. read more

WAY overpriced and under amount of food for servings. We had to beg for ketchup for the 20 fries that came with the overpriced dry sandwich with one thin slice of meat an cheese on it. My friend sent her salad back twice because they kept making it wrong and finally just asked for it to be removed from the check. Pasta at 30 bucks a plate should come with bread, not charged 2 bucks for bread. Servings so small you are hungry 2 hours later. Go somewhere better where your money buys you the amount of GOOD food the way you want it and an amount for the money! read more

This was my first time at In The Weeds. My first impression was a quaint, classy restaurant. The Happy Hour crowd was big and the view in the bar area was a plus. Service was Excellent! Staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which was prepared well and generous portion. Drink menu was good but was disappointed in the food menu that it was too limited but focused on healthy choices. I was planning on ordering a burger; unfortunately, it was not on the menu.
