Most amazing store, I worked with Rhiannon on the phone and went to a store in Park Slope Brooklyn to see the shade of interest. I asked to work with Rhiannon since she had been so helpful on the phone. The shades and drapery samples I saw in the showroom were gorgeous. So many selections of unusual prints innovative materials, fabrics and textures. Professional staff is excellent from beginning to end they keep in touch by email and phone. I have used the other company, HD and they are in my opinion a two star company with very poor customer service, there is no comparison to the Shade Store which gets a 5 star plus! They are better than the best! Prices are reasonable for the product they produce, meticulous workmanship and high end for sure.Obviously great quality control, unlike HD. Sadly my experience with this location has been nothing short of a nightmare. First, the measurement was done incorrectly. Then the product was ordered incorrectly. Then a valance in another room was ordered incorrectly. Lastly, the quality of the product after installation looks pretty shoddy. An installer had to come at least 4 times due to the mistakes of the saleswoman who ordered the product wrong and an installation done poorly. (who has time for this?) I asked multiple times for a customer service rep to reach out to discuss, and unsurprisingly, I've gotten no response. Go to any other shade/blind outlet. Save a headache. read more

Unfortunately, the service we had was very uneven. We put in a large order-as we combined it with a rental property. The person who helped us in the Summit store was polite and helpful. The shades for the rental property arrived, had been ordered correctly and were installed and look nice. The shades for our house arrived and not one shade was correct, not one. The quote we approved was correct. A blind squirrel could have ordered more accurately. All the incorrect shades were discovered by the installer who informed the store. Then we never heard from them-after calling for days-the gal finally acknowledged us and after weeks went by (note that we had already paid), we had to place more phone calls, and they they emailed another incorrect quote. And then it was repeated calls, more discussion, lots of scam-like talk about "compensation" for the first installation (which never happened) but wanting to charge us for the second installation and get us to say that was a good deal? It got very weird. We ordered in March, the correct shades were installed this week. Nearly 4 months-which was not as bad as all the wasted time (days missed from work, phone calls, etc) silly pretend "negotiations," and the shades are fine. I ordered 3 shades online a couple of years ago-from this store. The ones I ordered: look better, fit great and came quickly, easy to install. Overall, a very confusing experience. HIGHWAY ROBBERY! I went to the Shade store and got some quotes on some simple roller blinds in a nice pattern for 4 windows. The Romans I didn't even look at b/c they were more expensive. They saleswoman told me that valences were an extra $250 per foot and that cordless was extra too. She quoted me roughly $10k with valences and cordless and roughly $5k with no valences and pull cord. Then I went to Riccardi Brothers in Summit and the same shades cordless were $1,500 and with the valences $1800. Unbelievable!! Go To Riccardi Brothers, forget the Shade Store. read more

The Shade Store took the Order very professional and I have no issues with the showroom, but the delivery of the product is less than acceptable. Don't be fooled, a standard 2" wood blind was ordered on 4/18/24 due to be shipped on 4/30/24 and then was delayed to 5/15/24 and now is delayed again to 5/31/24. 31 days late do to a missing part which they state "all wand control wood blinds are manually backordered with the current expected date of 5/31." The shade store is currently still taking orders for the same blind and stating a seven day delivery time when they know is not possible. I spent over $5000.00 on blinds from the shade Store and now can't finish my new home is a reasonable time frame. Please note that my first order had an issue with missing end caps and the valance being incorrectly made ( the shade store did the measuring so it's 100% on them. Corrected parts took weeks to deliver And numerous calls. They will always yes you and say sorry but can't deliver or resolve the issue in a timely manner. FYI the CEO Zach Gibbs also doesn't respond to you when he sends out standard emails thanking you for being a partner & quote " if there is anything else we can assist you with, please do not reach out to us" read more

Excellent variety of window treatments and the staff is super helpful / knowledgeable. Provided a wealth of options which was helpful since I was unsure what direction I wanted to go in. Ended up with some really nice solar shades that helped drop the temperature in the family room easily by 10 degrees. read more

Do NOT buy the Shade Store's cellular blackout shades. The Shade Store warns customers that their cellular "blackout shades" do not block all light from the sides. Okay, but one would expect that the blackout shades would block light from the top and bottom, right? Due to a terrible design, the Shade Store's cellular blackout shades let light in from BOTH the top and the bottom. As somebody who previously had Hunter Douglas cellular shades that were actually blackout, the Shade Store's similar product is garbage.
