We ate here on a Saturday afternoon (5pm). There was no wait and the service was great. I was excited to try it out after hearing great things. The burger was good, but not as great as I had hoped. I went here for the first time today and enjoyed myself. The interior is dark and dingy and the place has a true rickety shed ambiance. You feel like it could collapse on your head at any time. It is a great vibe. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. They work together to make sure customers are taken care of. None of the territorialism seen in many small joints. I ordered a shed burger with cheddar and bacon on a sourdough roll with kettle chips. For an appetizer I got chips with queso and salsa dip. First the queso and salsa... it was fine. Nothing incredible, nothing terrible. I would order it again. I could not tell if the salsa was home made or not. It lacked anything unique. The burger was wonderful. It had a nice flavor and was cooked perfectly. The cheese was underwhelming. Maybe it was too mild a cheddar. I added leftover queso to punch it up. A quick note about the bun: it was delicious but it was definitely not sourdough. Just ignore the word and expect a sweet roll. Also the kettle chips were plain old bagged chips. I don't know why I thought they made them on site. Probably my fault and not theirs. Overall the place was a nice experience. Good price, good service, good food. read more

Not quite a fan, but getting there. We recently decided to try the Shed again and were, food wise, pleasantly surprised. I had complained before about the lack of quality when it came to their pizza and wings but that seems to have improved. On this visit the pizza was much better and it seems that they've turned to actual dough and not pre-made. It makes all the difference. The wings were much better too, both in quality and especially size. My wife had a burger, which have always been good. Service remains a down-spot. Most of the staff seems young and unprofessional. On this night one waitress was older and was clearly pretty good. The others young and most seemed content to sit on the back counter of the bar and flirt with the bartender, who must have been, but didn't look to be 21. Overall, we'll return since the food seems to be moving forward in a positive direction, but would love to see more items added to the menu AND a few more food choices on the menu. read more

We moved here recently and wanted to try the place last night. I can't comment on the food bc we never made it to our table. The 4 of us walked in and were told 5-10 min wait for a table. During our 40 min wait for a table, we watched other groups walk in and be offered drinks like water while they waited bc the kitchen was backed up. We observed another couple get there right after us to pick up a to go order. They had been told on the phone their food would be ready in 20 mins but I saw them wait much longer than that. With all the staff walking around, my thought would have been to use some of the staff to help the kitchen get caught up. Also, if you offer some of the waiting guest drinks, offer them all drinks. After 40 mins of waiting, we finally left. FYI, while we were at another restaurant, we saw a large family that had been waiting with us at The Shed gave up and came to our same place we were eating. read more

Really good food. Everything seems to be homemade. Shed Burger is everything a burger should be, and more. Only complaint is the slow service. Same problem both times we've been here. However, next time we are passing by Salado we'll probably stop in for that burger again! read more

Not the best BBQ I've had in Texas, their tortilla chips are mediocre and weirdly too yellow. The menus were dirty and the food was bland.

Great sangria, great pork nachos, great redneck cheese plate, great local brews, great environment. Reasonable prices. Will come back.

We had a really great meal! The jalapeño wraps are a must try. I look forward to coming back. After we enjoyed a nice meal on paper plates and plastic cutlery which was ok for the atmosphere I wrapped up with a bathroom visit which was rather disappointing. Great food, little small when there is a big event going on in town. The shed Burger is the best, or the Pulled pork nachos! Sounds odd but the potato pizza is delicious or the homemade chilli pie!!! Mmmmm makes me hungry. It's a little louder and hard to talk to your neighbor when having a conversation but thats what makes a great establishment right? They don't have live music on a regular basis and should. The biggest downfall to the entire venue is the food takes a Very LONG time to get out and when your hungry expect at least 30-45 mins and longest I've waited was an hour. They did just add on an extension of the kitchen but that is still being built. Smoking outside in courtyard sitting is available and they serve not just beer but liquor too! Food is okay but the service is always hit or miss. They don't have a broad range of dishes and lots of it is just one step above concession stand food. Last time I took the kids in there they were not busy and we waited 45 minutes for a drink order and we just gave up and left. I was really looking forward to trying ga new place to eat. Unfortunately, we did not even get seated to eat here, the host was disrespectful and unkind. The restaurant did not have a table to accommodate a 9 top, therefore suggested we sit at a round table in one room and the overflow sit at a table in the next room over, keep in mind d that there were 4 children within this party. We then asked if we could have the children sit in a booth next to a table that would accommodate the rest of us. The host initially said "no" and proceeded to belittle our party and stated the table numbers and that they were different stations. I kindly asked if they could accommodate us since they were children and he looked at me rudely proceeded with aggressive posturing and said "I'm not going to split up the stations, it's the rule"!. We decided to leave due to being poorly treated and upon leaving I stated to the host" this is terrible customer service". The host continued to say "its the rules! Have a good night!" as we were walking out while he smiled and waved aggressively. I decided to go back in after we left, without the kids. I wanted to talk to the manager. I have waited tables in the past and am well versed in table sections, and while sometimes it's a pain to split a station or swap tables for a sitting; it can be done. I asked the host to talk to his manager who was already asking him what happened, and he nudged her forward stating "she's right here" he proceeded to storm off to the back. This manager in so many words said "I'm not handling this" and passed me off to yet another manager, who was apologetic, listened to my complaint and asked what could be done. She also confirmed that it would have been possible to split the section without difficulty. Unfortunately, nothing could be done. Why would I want to stay and eat at a place where I felt threatened by a male staff member. His aggressive posturing was unsettling to say the least. read more
