    Tri tip bowl
    Wendy G.

Tasty, healthy tri tip bowl was a nice accompaniment to our early Sunday booze break at Sidecar. Appreciate this alternative to the between two buns format, and the charred sweet potato plus broccoli paired very well with the meaty tri tip strips. The light chimichurri sauce tied it all together. Super convenient ordering format at the shed with a buzzer so you can return ito nursing your poison of choice at Sidecar for the next 10 min or so until food is ready.

Quick service at the food area, bar was a bit slow at the place next to it called Sidebar. Definitely dive bar vibes but also kinda pleasant with pinball machines and a pool table. You cant go wrong with a classic double smash, its literally the one thing they'll never take off the menu and I just love a smashburger with the patty crusted around the edges (yall know what I'm talkin bout). The "Just the Tip" tri tip burger is MASSIVE and needs to be deconstructed in order to eat - the flavor is there but it's also just very chewy. They recently came up with a Tri-Tip bowl which comes with broccoli, sweet potato and chimichurri sauce... GAS! AND ITS HEALTHY AF - it's been my latest obsession. Overall, it's a great spot to grab a quick bite or even pregame. The bartenders are super chill and remember a face and the service is quick. Just be mindful that the menu can change quite often. I'll try to post a more updated pic soon!

Was craving burgers and wanted to try something new so came here after searching around. It's attached to the bar Sidecar which is easier to see from the street. You order at an outside window and there are some tables to sit outside if you don't want to go in the bar. Gf and I grabbed the Smash & Grab and the Smoke & Smash burgers; both doubles which is the way to go. Burgers were delicious and I'd say you won't go wrong with either! Also got some cajun fries on the side. Flavor was good but they were on the soft side of fries and I am a big crispy/well-done french fry guy. Not bad but I'd ask if they could do them well-done next time if possible. My only big issue was the wait time was pretty long on a Tuesday night with not many other people waiting. May be an issue on a busier night or weekend. Overall solid burger spot that I would definitely go to when in the area!

Sadly the burger did not live up to the hype. Smash burger seemed extra smashed as it was dry. So can't give it a good rating. Smash Burger - 2/5 sadly. Just too dry and needed lots of ketchup to help. Hot and tender 5/5 - SUPER spicy but it builds up. After three bites you need a drink. But the spices work so well and the chicken tender was literally TENDER. Fries 4/5 - great flavor, not greasy, and fresh.

Hit up the Shed before a show at Brick X Brick. Order a double smash burger from the cool chica at the Shed. They brought me my burger and fries. The fries were tasty and plentyful. The burger was super crispy, tasty and filling. The sauce they use is def flavorful, next time I might say easy on the sauce. Might be my new spot before shows

Awesome attachment to Sidecar bar. Food is fairly priced and comes out quickly from this literal shed. Service was accommodating. The burger was very flavorful. Great for those who enjoy smash burgers. The fries came out piping hot in a massive portion. Great outdoor ambiance. Would definitely return to sample their tri tip and sous vide chicken options!

My friend and I were looking for a quick bite during our brief lunch break near our office. We needed something with seating and that was a short walk. As there are not a lot of options in that area, The Shed was one of the few options that met our needs. The Shed is on the same property as the Sidecar Bar, and it is set up in the small parking lot, along with a section of picnic tables. It wasn't until I researched online that I learned that The Shed was open during the day. We arrived and read over the short menu. There was a bell to press to get service. When we did, the server came right out. I wanted something a little healthier, so I chose the grilled chicken protein bowl. My friend ordered the single smash burger. We sat down to wait, and the food came out quickly. It was pleasant to sit outside. I really enjoyed my food, as did my friend. I do wish their menu were a bit bigger and that they had a few more healthy options. Given my work location, I will likely have lunch there agin.

The Shed Kitchen is the latest vendor to function as the food service arm for Sidecar Bar on Morena Blvd. It occupies a small shack adjacent to Sidecar's main structure. I recall seeing a taco business that once operated from this space before it moved into a brick-and-mortar setup elsewhere in town. A few picnic tables were arranged in front of the shack if you wanted to dine al fresco on-site. On Tuesday to Thursday, The Shed does not open until 3 pm while on Friday to Sunday, lunch service begins at noon. For lunch (which runs until 6 pm), there was one burger combo, one fried chicken sandwich combo, and rolled tacos available as specials. The full menu offered two burgers, two tri-tip sandwiches, a chicken sandwich, tenders, wings, and mac 'n cheese with buffalo chicken on one page. The other page featured quesadillas, tacos, and fries. The Shed Cheesesteak was what I originally wanted to order, however it was unavailable/sold out. My backup choice was Just The Tip. Slices of medium rare tri-tip were placed inside a brioche bun topped with frizzled onion and chimichurri. Perhaps it was because of the stack of fried onions, but I felt the sandwich was dry even with the chimichurri sauce added. For $17.70, there was no side included which was unlike at least one local BBQ joint. They have a similar price for a tri-tip sandwich with a choice of one side.

I've left Sidecar plenty of love, but never gave The Shed their time in the spotlight, so here we go. The Shed is just that. It's a shed... duh. It sits adjacent to the entrance of Sidecar and is impossible to miss as patrons walk into the bar. What some may not know when walking past The Shed is that within the narrow walls lays a kitchen that produces some top-tier, possibly best bar food in the area. We've gotten everything from burgers and wings to chipotle chicken quesadillas to birria quesadillas and have never had a bad meal here. Most recently, my fiancee and I split a birria quesadilla and some lemon pepper Serrano wings. It was the perfect amount of food and with the assistance of an extra side of birria dip and ranch dressing we finished everything in our basket down to the little crispy cheese flakes that had flaked off the quesadilla. Yes... they were that good! It's so convenient to patrons and I love how you can be sitting in Sidecar enjoying your cocktail and can order food from The Shed at the same time. Sidecar makes it especially easy by having little QR code cards with The Shed's menu and you can even pay with apple pay. Once your food is ready, you'll receive a text that your food is ready for pickup at the window. It's a very efficient operation and the food is amazing. Thanks for the amazing food!!!

So this place is attached to sidebar. It is a small space, but you can eat outside and if your drinking at the bar you can eat your food there as well. I would say overall, the staff was very quick. As soon as you push the button they to come to the window and take your order. Make sure you know what you want before you push the button haha. The food was great. It tasted amazing. I would highly recommend this place.

Just the tip and an order of the entanglement.

First off, if you're in San Diego, this should be your only must-visit. I rarely go back to places I've already reviewed, but Hodads is a MUST, non-negotiable!!! The dining room is not fancy and looks like a teenager's bedroom with stickers and license plates adorning the walls. While the burger speaks for itself, whether you get the mini, reg, or double, the patties are thick, juicy, with fresh veggies and a soft, sweet bun to soak up those juices. This goes for the onion rings too, that don't seem to come out of the dryer in a bag. At the end of the day, the service was fast and friendly and carried the ocean vibe a Cali burger joint should have. I even picked up my Hodads T-shirt to probably advertise on my travels! Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area.
