    Whole Chicken Combo

This place is quite interesting as it is Asian and Mexican influence. The food is simple clean and tastes great. The food comes out quick and everything tastes healthy. I would recommend a combo plate with kalbi and a whole chicken combo that can be shared with 4 people. Their Mac salad is solid!

We got here early in the lunch hour. The service was average. No real Greeting just took our order. We drove there from Los Angeles. There is no customer restrooms for the customers. Actually the parking is good but no restrooms from the whole strip mall. The food is good. The ambiance is satisfactory. We asked a question and they reply I'm really business right now. Which from our perception there was one other customer in the store.

I've been enjoying the Chicken Teriyaki Plate from Natural Style Chicken for almost a decade now which is only a fraction of the time that they've been open - 40 plus years! For $12.99, the plate is a great deal and it comes with a huge pile of juicy wood-fired rotisserie chicken, a large scoop of Japanese white rice & iceberg lettuce salad. The portion is enough for two people to share. They have other choices for sides as well, but I always stick with the usual. They also make a delicious ranch dressing which I end up putting on everything & their teriyaki sauce is tasty. Natural Style Chicken is unapologetically humble in appearance. The owners are not worried about vibes, aesthetics, or great looking photos for the 'gram. The interior was painted a year or two ago, but otherwise, it looks like the dining room may be original to when they first opened. The place is clean and welcoming though & that counts! The service is friendly and efficient, too. Most importantly, NSC is focused on making delicious rotisserie chicken, and other entrees like Kalbi and Beef Teriyaki that are affordable, fresh and tasty. You can also buy whole, half or quarter portions of rotisserie chicken! They have tons of appetizers and a large selection of bottled drinks. Two people can casually dine here and get beverages (non-alcoholic) for the well under $40, and have food left over! Notes: tons of free parking in the lot Bonus: Grocery Outlet is around the corner & so is the Cravory cookies & ice cream!

If you're looking for good food and a great deal, this is the place. The service is fast and friendly. The food is what you come for as it taste so well made and slowed cooked. You'll have plenty of leftovers too! The ambiance is nothing fancy but it's the charm and food why you come for.

Natural Style Chicken Review: 40 Years Later... and the Stoke's Gone Flat By Captain 619, San Diego's Sultan of Saltwater and Saucy Bites Yo, flavor seekers! Buckle up for a tale of time travel, teriyaki tragedy, and a 40-year-old chicken shack that lost its golden wings. Flashback: 1988 Dudes, picture this: Young Captain 619, shreddin' the gnar on a neon boogie board, stumbles into Natural Style Chicken after a marathon surf sesh. Their teriyaki chicken bowl? FIRE. Juicy bird swimmin' in sticky-sweet sauce, rice fluffier than a morning offshore cloud. That meal imprinted on my taste buds like a perfect barrel--chef's kiss to the max. I vowed to return... someday. Fast-Forward: 2025 Spoiler alert: Someday was a letdown bigger than a flat spell in July. Walked in hopin' for a nostalgia tsunami. Instead? Got a dribble. The Damage Report: - Chicken: Dryer than a Santa Ana wind. Stringy, chewy, zero juice. Felt like I was gnawin' on a flip-flop strap. - Teriyaki Sauce: They charged extra for it?! Brah, that's like chargin' for ketchup at a burger joint. Criminal. - Rice: Bland as a landlocked lake. No vibes, no flavor, just... sad. Silver Lining? The place was packed--shoutout to the loyal regulars keepin' the lights on. But for this salty dawg? Nah. The magic's gone MIA. Final Take: Natural Style Chicken, you're a legend, no doubt. But 2025 you vs. 1988 you? It's like comparin' a vintage longboard to a soggy cardboard box. I'll stick to my Cali burritos and wish you smooth sailin'. For me? One-and-done, brah. "Out with the old tide, in with the new grind." --Captain 619, paddlin' onward to greener (juicier) pastures.

Best for to go orders to eat at the beach, at home, or a picnic. We ordered a whole chicken as well as a chicken teriyaki plate with the sauce on the side ( so I can choose how much sauce I add). It was all pretty tasty but the prices seem a little high for the services offered. There were only plastic utensils and napkins so if you're planning to eat the chicken with your hands, bring some wipes. (Note: there is no public restroom or hand washing station.) The teriyaki chicken came in small enough pieces to eat with the plastic utensils. Parking is available right up front and it is close (driving distance) to the beaches and highway exit.

Green Lantern 2011, teriyaki combo, comfort, you got it. I ordered the half chicken, half beef teriyaki plate with rice and potato salad for $17.77 with tax. First off, portion size is great. Those around me just got the chicken, which was the same huge portion for only $12.99. Chicken is juicy and has that roasted flavor I enjoy. I don't get much of the smoky flavor which I like in teriyaki chicken, but it still tasted good. The beef teriyaki surprised me, and I actually enjoyed it more than the chicken. It was tender, had nice pieces of fat within the meat (not too much so it wasn't nasty), and the sauce paired with it perfectly. The potato salad was pretty standard. For lunch, you can't beat this price and portion. More importantly, this meal tastes clean and healthy. Next time, I'll just get the rice and veggies for a more balanced meal, and it's cheaper. Come through if you want a quick service lunch with good value and good health.

I'm sorry but no. Not only does the place need a serious ventilation cleaning/upgrade but the food is so incredibly subpar... The corn tasted like it was originally frozen for a long time and then way over boiled. It was watery and wrinkly with no flavor. The chicken was SO dry. And tasted like it was cooked at the beginning of the day and been sitting out. The galbi was tendony and tough in a lot of spots and it ended up gaving my husband a super bubbly gassy stomach. Never again.

Their chicken soup is amazing. For the same price and amount you'd get at Barrons, this place blows it out of the water. If you're sick or want a comforting soup definitely give them a try!

The chicken was very bland and needs more seasoning. There are no options to compliment it, just some bottled hot sauce.

It'll hit the spot when you've got that spicy chicken sandwich hankering (and better than another chain that might not be open when you want it...) The chicken is excellent... perfectly moist and tender, but with a beautiful crispy crunchy fried crust. The spicy levels are pretty accurate, I got the hot which packed a little heat - I'd probably go one step higher next time. The chicken comes in generous portions and it goes so well with in their sandwich. The sauce is a delectable addition, must have! I only wish there were a little more pickles... but that's a me thing. The crinkle cut fries are an excellent companion, good crunch and soft interior, just what you'd want in thicker fries. I recommend dipping them in the sauce too! Staff was quick and friendly, made the whole transaction real smooth. My husband ordered Hawaiian BBQ after I placed my order here, and he received his food first while I was still waiting another 8-10 minutes. As for the chicken fries, I wish there had been more chicken since it felt like it was mostly fries. I also wasn't a huge fan of the nacho cheese choice, though I will say it was more flavorful than typical nacho cheese, which I appreciated.

Every time I'm in Little Italy, there's always a line, and I've often wondered, "Is this chicken really that good?" Well...today I found out! The menu offers plenty of tempting options, but I kept it simple with the 3-piece chicken meal, which came with a choice of fries or vegetables, a drink, and a giant chocolate chip cookie. You can also add extra chicken tenders for just $2.50 each, which is a great deal if you're extra hungry. Everything came out fresh to order. The chicken was hot, crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the fries were perfectly hot and crispy. One thing I really liked was their unique soda fountain with several cream soda flavors, lemonade, and tea options. And let's talk about that cookie--it was huge, warm, loaded with chocolate chips, and topped with a light sprinkle of salt that made it even better. The dipping sauces definitely deserve their own shout-out. The pineapple mustard sauce was unlike anything I've had before--sweet, tangy, and incredibly addictive. I also loved the smoky barbecue sauce, which paired perfectly with the chicken. Customer service was another highlight. Everyone greeted us with a smile and patiently answered our questions. I could tell one of the cashiers was still learning, but what stood out was how supportive the rest of the team was. One of the employees was bouncing between helping customers, answering menu questions, recommending popular items, and assembling orders in the back without missing a beat. I always appreciate seeing genuine teamwork, and you could tell everyone was working together to make sure customers had a great experience. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable as the food. I loved the laid-back "shack" vibe with the covered outdoor patio, bar area, picnic tables, and even a cornhole setup off to the side. Music was playing, creating a fun atmosphere, and once the evening cooled down, the overhead heaters made the patio feel extra cozy. There was plenty of seating, making it a great place to hang out and enjoy your meal. Needless to say, I can finally understand why there's almost always a line here. I'm honestly wondering why I waited so long to try it for myself! I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm giving one of their chicken sandwiches a try. As always...I don't gatekeep--I just put you on game! If you're ever in Little Italy, do yourself a favor and stop by. If you're a fan of great chicken tenders, delicious sauces, and a fun atmosphere, this place is absolutely worth checking out. You can thank me later.

The chicken sandwich was crunchy and flavorful, but it was not spicy one bit. I believe that the restaurant should allow its customers to choose a spice level. That is the point of the hot chicken, but it was still perfectly enjoyable. The great thing is that they are not stingy with the sauces and have a sauce bar where you are not handcuffed to small packets of sauce you get elsewhere. If you want to watch a game and grab a drink too, they have a bar area and they also have a small area where kids can play. Definitely a great spot.

The overall cuisine is closer to Mediterranean not so much Mexican flavors. They are a no frills shop as they only offer chicken in 3 different flavors. The food itself tastes great, very fresh and clean ingredients. Overall, a satisfying and healthy meal for me. Street parking is abundant and they have seating inside. I'll have to knock down the rating 1 star just because compared to CAVA and chipotle the options here are quite limited (chicken being the only protein) which is completely fine if you just want chicken. Also I think $17 is quite the hefty price for one bowl HOWEVER, they do really give bigger portions here so at least that makes me feel better about spending almost $20 on a bowl. This is located in Ocean beach, a neighborhood in San Diego that doesn't have too many options so this will be the best next thing to getting chipotle and cava. I think if I lived here I would come quite often but not worth it in my opinion to drive all the way here.

This review is based on the BOGO experience so please keep that in mind. Parking is kind of odd as almost 1/3rd of the parking spots are specialty parking spots-mobile pickup, clean air efficient, etc. There are approximately 15 parking spots aside from the specialty spots. The Good My special orders on both combos were accurately executed The cashier was efficient and took my order with a smile The Texas toast was appropriately buttered on both sides The food was hot when delivered The Buy One Get One Free combo The Not so Good Some of the fries were limp, soggy, and seemingly a bit undercooked The lemonade was too sweet for me today-it could be the same lemonade they always have, so it might just be me. The Terrible These are the smallest strips/tenders/fingers you've ever received when ordering strips-This is not a location problem unique to this store, this is a Raising Cane's problem. Raising Cane's is good, but the chicken fingers are just that-sized like the fingers of a dainty individual. My favorite chicken spot is priced similarly to RC's but the strips are like 2-3 times the size, providing much more bang for your buck Even though I got the bogo today, I have to drop a star for the teensy tendies. This is a beautiful store. Cane's always puts together beautiful storefronts, and that I can appreciate. I like how this location has a mostly wide open kitchen. I used to say Cane's was the In-N-Out of chicken fingers, but say that no more. On Father's day we fed 8 people for $80 at INO. You can barely feed 5 for that at Canes. Hats off the team at this location for holding it down. The store was really clean and the food was very fresh. Nice work. Thank youuuuuu!
