They carry your groceries to your car and load them!!!…read more There are very few grocery stores with such service left. We love our little town store. My kids love the selection of shopping carts, with sizes even for them. The only thing I slid a star off for was prices can be a bit more. But I understand the struggle of a small town store and I'm willing to pay it so we don't loose them.

I have been going to that store almost every other day for the past couple of years. Last week when…read moreI went there I bought three items. When I went to the checkout counter there was an older female working the cash register and a younger male that was bagging groceries. At this time I watched as the person begging the groceries wiped his nose each time that he reached down and picked up one of my grocery items. At this point I told the older female working in the cash register that I did not want any of the three items. She then became upset and said why don't you want the items. And I told her the truth it's because he and pointed to the bagger had wiped his nose every time that he had picked up one of my grocery items. She then stated that she could give me a new bag. I said that wasn't the problem please just exchange the items I don't want to argue about it. She then called a manager. When the manager got there the cashier said the same thing with other people now in line he doesn't want these items because he stated that the bagger had had wiped his nose. How embarrassing. The manager was great and said it doesn't matter if it did or didn't happen the customer wants to return the items. At that time the bagger after the manager had been called stated that he never had wiped his nose and stated that he didn't do it. But he stated that felt that he had to sneeze. At this point I told them that it was probably all on video. Shame on the cashier for exploiting this whole incident and the bagger for lying I'm sure it's on video I will never go back to that store again.

Gosh, I didn't know what I was missing. This is a true IYKYK! Once you have visited Horrocks, you will return for life. This is a magnificent, rustic, unique, expansive establishment that offers a cornucopia of items. From floral, to meats, cheeses, wine, speciality items, fruits, snacks, vegetables, hard-to-find items and more. There is so much more! Things that stood out even though I loved everything about this place: -the vast selection of canisters of olive oils -the vast array of different varieties of balsamic vinegars (amazing!) -house made items in every area -house made popcorn with so many flavors, so fresh. -the many, many homemade soups: probably around 20 different kinds and delicious. -a ramen bar, what? -bakery -pizzeria -exotic fruits and vegetables and regulars ones too -the wine bar: sip while you shop. -house-made sausages and cheeses -house-made jams, jellies, local honey -extensive variety of spices, herbs, flour and grains - great service, very helpful. This is a must try and truly a destination. I cannot wait to shop and browse here again!

Picture a massive Costco sized store, but instead of big brand bulk items, it's local delicious specialty food items. You can find interesting things here. I recommend you set aside two hours to explore. I'm serious. They have a bar that also includes non-alcoholic beverages and the shopping carts include a cup holder. Where to start though? Fruits, vegetables, soup bar, cheese galore, huge candy bar with Michigan fudge... Lots of frozen meats and vegetable packs, a chilled dairy room, fresh sausages. Oh, the COFFEE and the OIL section?! Yes, you can taste the different oil flavors. And you can and will find the coffee that suits any taste. I make a 1.5 hour drive to go here every now and then, and it's always worth it. Bring reusable bags to keep your frozen food cold. And don't step in the plant section unless you want to come home with some flowers or a pretty plant, it's too tempting! I'm not saying anymore. Either you go or you miss out on the magic
