We loved visiting this hometown spot after the kids worked up an appetite at Fleetwood Park. The owner/operator was friendly and there were many locals and repeat customers who were on a first-name basis with the staff. There were some adventurous options on the menu (like a chicken quesadilla with mango salsa) and more traditional lunch fare such as sandwiches and wraps. The food was tasty and the service quick, even though they were extremely busy. There were just a few tables and a lunch bar for seating and most people took their food to-go, but we were able to snag a spot to eat in the restaurant. We'll be coming back. read more

This is the same owners and same restaurant as The Village Butcher. The Butcher burned down. A few months later Jim & Summer Gaskin re-opened a few doors down (same side of the street) as The Shop Eatery. The restaurant is larger than the Village Butcher, has seating inside, and they are now open for breakfast in addition to lunch. I had been going to The Village Butcher for years, it's nice to see them re-open in this new location! If you are not a fan of parallel parking (I hate it, personally), then go down the alley right by the restaurant and park in the community parking lot behind their building... Great food at more than fair prices. My personal favorite is anything they make that includes their roast beef, but I've never had a bad meal there. They are very accommodating -- you can build your own sandwich or salad in addition to the ever-changing daily specials. read more

Stopped here for the first time the other day. I have a lot of social anxiety so new places are a lot for me. Walked inside and everyone greeted me and was extremely friendly. They explained how everything worked and I wasn't rushed at all to figure out what I wanted. The staff is extremely friendly here and I was very appreciative of it. I ordered the cream chip beef over everything. And this had to be hands down the best I ever had. I will definitely be coming back. read more

We order from here at my job a couple times a month. The food is always fresh and delicious. The baked goods are not only tempting but so good you have to buy one. The lemon icebox was so good my sister and I were fighting over who took a bigger bite. The only thing we as a collective office of people who order is that certain things should be grilled/pressed/toasted. The paninis or ciabatta aren't and that's disappointing.
