Stopped in for dinner after a day of flying and increasing hunger. Pretty cool inside, like a 50s diner. Were seated quickly and looked over the large menu I ordered the pierogis for an appetizer settled on black diamond steak and eggs for dinner. My wife had the French toast with bacon. Pierogi were really good, stuffed with potato and cheese. Black diamond steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Eggs were cooked perfectly, always amazed how many places can't make a sunny side up egg. Was really good food French toast was really good as well. Wife loved it. We got 2 muffins and a slice of apple pie to go, as we were stuffed after dinner. Coffee was really good, much better than we expected. Muffins were awesome, and super large. Apple pie was yummy as well. Service was great and friendly. read more

I'm from Jersey, so I'm very picky about diners. I've yet to find one in PA that can compare. Americana Diner is ok. I've had better, I've had worse. No matter when I go, I always seem to wind up with a waitress with an attitude. The hostess is not too friendly, either. The food is eh... I've had decent breakfast, I've had decent lunch. I've had not so decent breakfast, I've had not so decent lunch. It's hit or miss. I will say this, the cheesecake is delicious and reasonably priced. If I'm hungry and in the area, I'll stop in. If not for the great service, clean restrooms, and nice looking facilities my meal was a single star. Avoid the Philly Cheese steak wrap at all costs. As terrible in taste as is was unappealing on the plate I'd recommend it come off the menu immediately. It's ground beef in a terrible sauce on a smoking hot wrap (yet cool ground beef inside). Boyertown transplant of almost a year. And official foodie for sure! There's a few good restaurants in the area and definitely diners around. And admittedly, I'm not a diner person. My fiancé is.....so as a great partner, there are sometimes compromises in food. So today for lunch we went to Americana Diner. And......this was not a food compromise- My food was exceptional!!!! Had the Greek Salad. Honestly- best Greek salad I have ever had. Presentation was pretty, and eye appealing. The portion was the right size, it perfectly portioned between greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, feta. The toasted pita was a delicious accompaniment. Feta was a high quality feta (admittedly made me embarrassed for the current feta in my fridge, lolol). A light dressing, and the stuffed grape leaves were a fantastic add in. I will definitely be back for this delicious salad!!! read more

This place doesn't need my accolades to be successful. My wife and I stopped in around 9:00AM on a Saturday morning. The place was almost full and people were waiting. Fortunately they had a table for two available. Our server was stretched very thin so what appeared to be a management person took our drink orders. Our server came over shortly thereafter and even though she was obviously quite busy she greeted us with a smile. The kitchen is efficient and produced our breakfasts in a timely manner and correctly. I had a breakfast burrito which was excellent and more than adequate. My wife's bacon, eggs and home fries with grilled onions where what one would expect. I gave them only 3-stars for atmosphere because it was nothing special. It's what a diner is supposed to look like. This is a good place. read more

Coming back from a trip to Jim Thorpe we totally forgot it was Easter, we had skipped breakfast and were hungry. We stopped at Jake's flea market thinking we could get something there but nothing tickled our fancy. Thankfully a vendor recommended the Americana . We arrived to them not only being open but also with no wait. You can't miss the place. The exterior is all glass and mirrors and has that vintage diner feel. An old turquoise Chevy sat out front - not sure if it was the owner's or another patron's but it's placement felt intentional. The inside was bright and clean and felt like it had Greek ties. The bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled as the decor was more modern than the rest of the establishment and exceptionally clean. Probably one of the cleanest restaurant rest rooms I've been in. It was only around 11am and although they had some Easter specials they weren't serving them yet and we were presented with a breakfast menu. There were plenty of items to choose from, including several featuring crab. The crab/asparagus/egg breakfast casserole caught my eye and I inquired if they use real crab (IT WAS!). Our server had to confirm as she didn't know. I ordered that and hubby a meat lovers breakfast casserole. Both were in the $8.50 range and included hash-browns in the dish and toast. The wait for our food felt long but they were busy. Our waitress was very attentive and had a good sense of humor. She even went with the flow and engaged in my husband's comical antics and her laugh seemed genuine. We really liked her. Our dishes were served piping hot in a large crock. I loved mine, even the hollandaise sauce which I had them put to the side because normally I don't care for it. Hubby ate his with vigor than eyed up the bit I saved to take home. On our way out he got a piece of coffee cake (it was massive and only $2.70!) The hostess station seemed a little unorganized. Two hostesses rotated between seating and checking people out. One was definitely better at her job than the other, who didn't know prices and appeared to not know how to run the register. Her inabilities held up the line and myself and other patrons were getting frustrated in the process. Otherwise awesome food, good prices, and a wonderful server, one of the best. read more

Three words - BLACK DIAMOND STEAK. You know you're in a good old fashioned diner when you can get a black diamond steak and eggs, and Anericana delivers this 1000%!! It was FANTASTIC! As well, the waitresses were extremely friendly and constantly stopped by and topped off my coffee! That is a HUGE sticking point for me as well when reviewing a quality diner! No wonder this place was busier on a weekday lunch break than I've seen most other diners for Sunday breakfast! Awesome place on all fronts!! read more

I ordered basic blueberry pancakes and when they came out, I received half a pound of blueberry paste they call "syrup" on top. As I was eating I thought why is my pancake spicy? And I pulled out a cut up jalapeño. We were also asked multiple times if we wanted more coffee and we said yes everytime and never got more. I stopped here this weekend. I have never written a review but this was bad enough that I had to. First the hostess threw our menus on the table n walked away without saying a word before we got to the table: Weird but no problem. i ordered stuffed shells and they were clearly freezer burnt with the white film on em and hard as a rock. Meh but not enough that Id complain. My daughter ordered plain wings. The waitress said they made a mistake and made them with BBQ sauce and they need to remake them. A couple minutes later she brings out burnt wings that my daughter refused to touch. The waitress was a sweetheart and apologized and said she'd pay for them. I was disturbed by the fact that they would make her pay for them when the cook is back there washing off sauce and pretending they remade them. Needless to say my daughter didn't eat anything. The waitress was awesome and insisted I don't tip but I insisted harder that I do because it wasn't her fault. Between finding out she would have had to pay for them, the food sucking and finding out they do shady stuff like washing off wings and sending them back out I had to say something. read more

My family and I have eaten here on three separate occasions -- and I've not reviewed until now because I wanted to give this place every opportunity to be better... but in the end, it just isn't. Our first visit, we went for dessert -- I mean, it IS a diner, right? We waited for 20 minutes before someone came to take our order, then another 20 before our ice cream and cake came out -- then another 20 to get our check. The dessert was fine, the wait... not so much. On our second visit, we actually decided to have dinner.... it wasn't busy and we waited 15 minutes before our order was taken -- another almost 40 before the food came out... the food was OK.. I had a burger, my wife had grilled chicken and the children had a mix from the kids menu... nothing spectacular, very edible -- but nothing that took 40 minutes. This last visit was much better in the service department.. I'll give them that much. From when we sat to when we were actually eating was about 20 minutes -- can't complain. I ordered chicken marsala. There was little to no flavor there, and did not come with a side of spaghetti... so that's a thing... your Italian dishes should come with pasta. The chicken itself was fine..ish. My wife ordered a gyro, which she said was OK... she asked for no onions on it, it had onions on it but hey... no one is perfect, right? Overall, this place is alright if you need to eat and can't find your way down the road a little bit to better places like The Bally Hotel, Pied Piper Diner or Saville's... but we won't likely be back. read more

Isn't horrible. Defn never had a bad experience. Food portions for the price is defn right on point. Huge senior menu. Which is great you don't see that much. They even have a reward system. Just sucks it's one stamp per visit not every 10 dollars. Or stamp per meal. I get it they don't want to hand out discounts left and right but idk times are kinda tough it be nice to get more than one a visit. Other than that totally recommend it. read more

The food is okay, had a few items in the past I would suggest, and some stay away dishes. The roasted chicken stuffed with crab, yum! All their soups are a hit or miss. I've had old soup, and cold soup. Today I had Italian wedding soup, much to my surprise, they cut all the tiny meatballs in half! Don't even think about the chicken croquettes, or the spanakopita, prefrozen and totally unedible. Now let's talk about the hostess. She's a bullhorn! She talks to her staff in such a LOUD VOICE it's not a very pleasant experience. P.S. I was supposed to get a free dessert with my meal, I wanted it to go, they told me I couldn't have it to go! It's a mediocre diner. Had their food on two occasions, once for breakfast, once for lunch. Breakfast was okay. Had the Monte Cristo omelette. The meat wasn't awful, and was fairly bland overall. Give them points for some kind of creativity. Lunch was miserable. Ordered a turkey burger. If I wanted to throw a frozen slab of pre-cooked turkey into the microwave, I would've done it myself. Shame on me, I suppose, for expecting otherwise from a diner. This place used to be PACKED on Sundays, driving business away from Woodside. Traffic seems to be flowing back into Woodside (and that's saying something, for the awfulness that they serve up on a daily basis). read more

Not gonna lie - we were weary based on the reviews, but WOW! I'm so glad we stopped in! My wife, two kids, and I pass this place all the time and were craving breakfast for dinner. First of all, I get that every place has its ups and downs; so I'm sure different people have different quality visits at different times. For us, the wait staff was incredibly friendly, personable, and attentive. The food was great - stuffed omelets, perfectly browned corned beef hash, crispy bacon, and fluffy pancakes. Seriously good. This my favorite diner! The food was presented well, not a hot mess on the plate. That tells me that the kitchen staff has pride and passion for the job still. The kitchen staff is often unappreciated. The wait staff was very nice and stopped back often enough. I was sat near the cashier and for everyone who left she asked how the vist was, not one complaint. The manager on at the time even took a moment to talk to me about the diner and took my suggestions. There is WiFi but it could be a stronger signal. Also, when they renovated the owners put a lot of thought and mo ey into making the diner handicap accessible. I will be back often next for breakfast. read more
