Went to get quotes, spoke with Al and Mena. Called to confirm the door could be put in different than usual as the sliding part was needed on the opposite side than suggested. Mena took the call said Al was not in, then said she would have to call engineer and would call back. She never called. I called back 3 days later spoke to Al, he said he had to call the technician and would call back. He never called. If they don't want the business they should just say so instead of wasting my time! We just renovated our basement bathroom. I ordered a brush nickel premier 36 x 72 frameless shower door at their store, The Shower Door in Massapequa. My shower door was ready in 2 weeks time. Their installers work directly for The Shower Door so they are all familiar with the products well. The company told me if would be delivered after 11:00am. This review is based on a special order and non-installation so take that for what it's worth. Our house keeper shattered a glass door in our guest shower (how is still and forever will be a mystery) and upon trying to get it replaced, we found out that the most efficient way to replace it with the current supply chain issues in the US was to order one custom fit. We originally ordered a Kohler set and had some installers put them in when we remodeled, so I wasn't sure what I was in for. The nice staff at a local big-box store pointed me to the Shower Door in Huntington where I met Phil. I explained what I needed and he was able to walk me through the process. I had to remove the remaining unbroken door and get all the measurements for a new door with all the holes for hangers and door handle. Doing this was a snap for me- I have been building bridges and buildings for 35 years. For those who can't read a tape measure maybe get someone who can to help. I was somewhat apprehensive about getting a tempered shower door made and brought my tape measure to check it when it arrived in about a week. Absolutely perfect! Down to the 1/16 of an inch. Just renovated our main bathroom. We bought our shower doors from The Shower Door. We got 3/4's thickness and a special process baked into the glass that's repels soap scum, water drip marks etc. we paid extra for this process. We registered the doors on a website and they are guaranteed for life. At first I was very skeptical. My husband wanted clear glass. I did not. I finally gave in. The doors were installed a week ago. The installers were on time, they were quick , explained everything and cleaned up after the installation. They were great. The doors are beautiful and easy to keep clean. We went to The Shower Door to replace a shower door instead of Lowe's as we thought they were the "experts". I wanted a frameless door to replace the framed one I had. I showed pictures of the existing one to Nina. The only thing she warned me about was that there would be holes in the tile from the original door which could be plugged. She failed to mention I was losing 1 1/2" of space, and because there is no frame for the door to slide into, the door opens easily and water gets out onto the floor. There also was no knob on the inside to exit so after 4 phone calls Al ordered one and came to install it. When he was here installing it I told him about the way the door opens and he said maybe it could be adjusted at the top. That was almost a year ago and I never heard from anyone at The Shower Door. I am assuming he did not relay my message. Every day after showering I say" I hate this shower door". Why did a "expert" at a speciality store sell me something she should not have? She should have pointed out the differences in going from a framed door to a frameless. I expect this lack of knowledge from a big box store salesperson but not from a store that specializes in this. We used the Massapequa store. Came in on a Saturday, talked about what our options are, suggestions based on pictures with our new construction shower. Did not feel pressure to book immediately with them, seemed to be full transparency on the difference between them and other custom glass companies. Within a week, we booked with them, team came out to do a measurement. Within 2-3 weeks, we were scheduled to install. Horrible customer service. Just wanted a replacement 3/8" door sweep for my frameless shower door. I had the existing cracked sweep with me so all I wanted was exact same length cut. Woman at counter (seemed like manager or owner) told me she'd sell me a a strip but I'd have to cut it down with a hacksaw myself! Or get the installer back in ($$$). Are you kidding me? She insisted that no shower door place would cut it for me. P.S. Drove down Merrick Road a couple of miles and found a wonderful shower glass place who couldn't have been more professional and set about cutting me a new door sweep - no issues. They kept the broken original for sizing and will have my replacement sweep ready tomorrow morning. And for a lot less money than Massapequa Glass and Mirrors wanted. I actually have more glasswork ( $10-15k pool surround ) to do but will stay clear of this place. They absolutely could have had one of their installers trim a sweep for me but I guess it was not worth their time. Too bad the place down the road will be getting all my new business and word of mouth recommendations to friends in Pequa and beyond read more

I was happy to use The Shower Door they seemed nice and they said we would have our glass within two weeks of measurement, which we did...After install, installer says "ok we're all done" after an hour and a half/two hours...ok so I walk into the bathroom and immediately see the top of the door is chipped, so I ask about it and he says "oh it's rounded"....so why aren't the other corners "rounded" like that? I ask. Oh it must be chipped he says ( so after working with the glass for two hours he never saw the chip? I don't think so). I also have stone wrapping around the half wall down and over to side of shower with 45degree miters which I installed and know/have pictures previous to installation. Both sides of the miter right where they installed the stationary glass were chipped, also not acknowledged...I reached out to the "office" a few times and basically was laughed at and got nowhere. The chipped door was replaced and I asked the same installed " did your office tell you about the stone"? "Yea they mentioned something" he said "what would you like us to do"also said by him...I said fixing it would be nice..."it's just going to happen again" is his response.Bottom line if you use this company and something doesn't go right....You're the asshole not them apparently. read more

This is a very good business with fair value for high quality. The showroom has lots of samples and a very good staff who explains everything clearly and spends the time you need to make informed decisions. (There is really good candy for customers also). They won't go out of their way for you as I found out when I asked for a late measuring before the schedule was completed and they told me "the schedule is the schedule," and then scheduled me instead for early morning. This business only accepts bank checks and cash after the required 50% deposit which can be made by credit card and this is clearly noted on the contract. The measuring crew arrived exactly on time and did meticulous measurements. As a result, the installation was done perfectly, which is the most important thing for the long run. The installation staff was friendly, polite, and most importantly very good at installation. You won't regret making a purchase there - they are obviously a good long standing business. read more

Fast and efficient, Rob and Thom did an excellent job of replacing an existing set of shower doors. In and out in 45 minutes, you wouldn't have known they were there other than the excellent installation job they did. My experience at first was excellent. I called explained my needs about my bathroom and was warmly greeted, then scheduled and the gal followed up. The next week for the actual apt I was called and told many things a customer does not need to know about the intricate workings of a businesses problems. I was told they are short staffed, someone called in and they have to reschedule me again not their other customers as its been some time I have used them. The professionalism on the phone was non existent, the language and verbal discussion caused me to terminate the phone call and end my relationship with this company who used to be great! I am not sure the owners/managers are aware as I asked to be connected with one and I was told no. I also called the other locations and was told there was nothing I can do and that is the way it it. I am guessing that the woman i interacted with was unhappy, having a bad day or just not interested in customer service because the phone is your first representation of your business and this was not a good experience. I called a competitor and they remedied my bathroom and said they had nothing t say about this place except they get a lot of their customers with "problems". Beware.... I was cancelled and wasn't treated professionally. I would go elsewhere and I also would have checked with online reviews before had I not been a customer. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. When the installer came to install our new shower door, the technician said he could not do it without doing substantial damage to our tiles. Since we did not want to redo the entire bathroom, we told him not to do it. The salesperson (owner?) Al said he wouldn't take the door back, even though it was not taken out of the box. What good is a shower door if it can't be installed? He would not refund any of our money, including the ridiculous $75 fee to bring the old door to the curb. IMHO, there should be no charge to bring the old door to the dump, or at worst, no formal charge give a tip to the guy to bring it to the curb. The owner's haughtiness in response to various online complaints (of which there are many) shows the type of businessman he is. Not sure how he stays in business with that attitude. Even his 10% charge for credit card return fees is onerous. While not much good has come from the corona virus, maybe it can put this guy out of business. Of course, I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and hopefully I will prevail. Avoid this business at all costs. read more

Went to purchase a shower door this past Saturday afternoon. We realized within the hour that we didn't want to make this purchase. The Shower Door Company was closed. It was closed on Sunday too! I called when the store opened today Monday, 9/25 10 AM and Phil answered the telephone. I explained what happened & nothing could have prepared me for how I was going to be treated. Phil says you need to learn to read contracts better. I said that we changed our minds bur store was closed until now. Phil did not care. He said all credit card orders 10% is taken off the refund from their credit company. Phil said he can not give me a refund over the telephone. Instead I had to drive over and 1 & 15 minutes for this stupidity. I called my credit card company. I was told I was lied to. I was told if the charge was only in pending the merchant is not charged. Phil is a liar. He is rude. I RECCOMMEND RUNNING NOT WALKING TO ANY OTHER SHOWER DOOR COMPANY. I would give ZERO stars BUT Filomenia was a nice person. Original purchase was 8/2015 for $4,120. No issues with installation. June 2017 needed to have torn and broken vinyls replaced. It took 1 week for them to call me back to even schedule a service call. When they did come they replaced some of the vinyl (actually left a broken one on the shower)and adjusted the door which appeared to be slightly out of alignment. I now have a door that leaks water. Spoke to Phillip who tells me its normal for the door to leak (it never did before), and if I insisted on them coming back to my home I would have to pay $75 service fee again! Stay clear of this place. Warranty is b.s. as well. read more

Linda helped us schedule our installations and was friendly and very patient. Our tub doors needed to be reset as we didn't realize when ordering that our bathtub was not "level". The team at the Shower Door fixed the problem right away. The installers, led by "T-Bone" were efficient, clean, and answered all of our questions and concerns in a vey friendly manner. When I read these reviews I was very skeptical, but, I have been seeing their ads around for years and wanted to do some more research about this expensive investment. I have been to other company's first and by far this company was higher in price and they have no wiggle room. They will not match anyone else's price which I thought was absurd in today's economy. With that being said, I have never met a salesperson like Linda that had so much knowledge about a product. Linda gave me the pros & cons without any pressure and insisted I go home and talk it over with my husband before making any purchase. I decided right there and then that this was the company for me, but now I was skeptical about the installation remembering the bad reviews I read. Let me tell you about the two men that came to my home. After pumping them for information I found one man has been with the company for over 17 years and the other over 8 years. They put drop cloths down and covers over their shoes when they measured. The older man gave us some great advice that we never considered, which made a world of difference. The same men returned 3 weeks later and once again they put drop cloths through-out my home, over my vanity & toilet.
