Thankfully, I have always been fastidious about my car and so I still had a trunk with all the custom detailing supplies I would need. Flagship had what I needed: self-service car wash bays where I could be sure not to damage the still curing car paint. They have a set of token machines. Bring your dollars. The card readers did not appear to be working. I got six dollars worth of tokens and that was plenty to wash a medium sized sedan. They even use warm water, which was nice. I was able to pull forward and complete my hand detail with microfiber cloths, waterless car detailing spray, glass cleaner, and tire detailing gel. My whip came out looking in Bristol fashion. They're consistently clean, professional, and easy to deal with. I only tried this location because Love My Car is closed on Thursdays. I've also seen some pretty concerning Yelp photos of the cleaning here, which definitely made me question trying it. This was my first time here, and the experience was honestly baffling. I called around 4:19 PM to confirm they offered both interior and exterior service. The gentleman I spoke with said yes and told me I could come by within 30 minutes without an appointment. I arrived about 20 minutes later. It was raining, so I completely understand if they decided to close because of the weather. That was never my issue. The problem was that there was absolutely no indication they were closed. The sign said "Full Service Cars to the Left," so I followed it and waited behind another car. After about 10 minutes, I called the number again--no answer. I tried the website chatbot--nothing. I eventually saw around 10 employees inside a glass office, seemingly watching the cars outside, so I walked over to ask what was going on. Before I even reached the door, someone walked out and rudely said, "We're closed." I asked, "Oh, is it because of the rain?" because I genuinely had no idea what was happening. I even asked if I could ask a question, and he basically repeated that they were closed and walked away. I went inside and politely asked the woman behind the counter if they were closed for the day or just waiting for the rain to pass. I mentioned that I had just spoken to someone on the phone about coming. Before I could even finish, she said, "We're closed." Again, I had no problem with them closing because of the rain. I just wanted to know when I could come back. Instead, I was made to feel like I was somehow wrong for even asking. What really left me dumbfounded was that two customers were sitting outside--one who had driven from DC and me from Germantown--while employees were inside watching us, yet nobody put up a sign, came outside, answered the phone, or communicated anything. I left thinking, "What just happened?" I'm sure this may have just been a bad day, but first impressions matter. I was actually considering coming here regularly because it's on my way home and cheaper than Love My Car. After this experience, I'll happily pay more for 100% better customer service. And for the record, I'm writing this at 5:50 PM, and the rain has already stopped. So apparently, if it rains, they may close several hours early. I'll stick with Love My Car.

I wish I had read these reviews before signing up for their monthly unlimited plan. I go because…read moreit's convenient and they have locations near work and home. I try to go as often as possible to get my money's worth, but it's a commitment. I just went this morning to their Kensington location -- overall, unimpressive (again). I've been to both the Kensington location and the one on Rt. 7 in VA. Both have very weak dryers. I always have to hand dry, if I have time, but that adds another hour if I include vacuuming. Otherwise, water spots on windows and chrome accents are a given. Some of the staff are nice enough, but they literally don't have any contact with customers unless you're signing up for a monthly plan or have difficulty getting the gate open. I did have one experience where I had to go to the bathroom really badly. The attendant at the gate said to go in the building. A woman stopped me and said restrooms are for employees only. I pointed out that her coworker had just said I could use it, and that I needed to go very badly. She still refused and hardly seemed sorry. There were no other businesses nearby I could use (mostly car body shops and industrial offices). I told her that if she did not make an exception this one time, I'd have to urinate in my pants or on the side of the building. She just shrugged, and I just watered their shrubs. It was a little demeaning but not as bad as urinating myself. One other negative experience with their staff, this time at the Rt. 7 location, occurred when the attendant yelled at me from across the parking lot to move out of the vacuumed parking space to dry my car. I told him I wanted to dry my car before vacuuming because I didn't want water spots, but that I'd be using the vacuums soon. I added that I wouldn't have to if their dryers worked properly to begin with. He instructed me to park in the spots without vacuums. My question is, if the vacuums are in such high demand, why not install vacuums in the spaces that don't have them. I also would have been more receptive to move if he had come over politely and explained that there was high volume and would appreciate it if I would move my car as soon as possible; or better yet, helped me dry my car so I'd finish faster and then vacuum. All of this would be tolerable if the wash was at least top notch, but it's far from it. The bottom of my doors are always left dirty, and I drive a high SUV, so it's not like the wash cloths on those rotators and water jets can't reach those areas. Overall, there just isn't anything special about this chain, albeit I've only been to two separate locations. Some of their competitors have compressed air that you can use to blow debris from tight places where the vacuum can't reach, like cup holder crevices, air vents, under the hood leaves, etc.; and some even offer reusable drying clothes. I guess if bathrooms are too much to ask for, these other "perks" are a bridge too far. I will be moving to VA soon and my experience has not inspired loyalty. I plan to cancel my membership soon thereafter -- there are just too many better places to have to put up with staff attitude, lack of basic customer services, and mediocre washings. Also, I'm even less tolerant of businesses that ignore customer complaints on social media, as this one appears to be doing with many customers on here.
