On Saturday I was able to take my car for a cleaning and had spoken with Ms. Annie on the phone. She understood my cleaning needs and was able to make a small adjustment to the package and services so that I had the best interior cleaning at a fair price. Before I brought my car here another company had not done a good job cleaning up small shards of glass from an install of a side window replacement. Once I took it to Kensington Auto Clean they did a thorough shampoo and vacuum of the seats, under the seat, console and side area. It looks almost like new again and I can feel safe now having passengers in my car. I will definitely come back when my car needs another cleaning. They offer good pricing and quality cleaning. read more

Over the years I have tried to use this car detailing shop several times. It is a convenient place located close to my trusted auto mechanic. But the work they perform is always substandard. I'm not sure if the cleaners are lazy or they don't understand what detailing is but every time I have tried to use the business I have been dissatisfied. Additionally there seems to be always a problem with the bill after the service is done when I asked for a price before I agree to service that price inevitably changes when I returned to pick up my car. And there's always a song and a dance about why I needed to pay more. But the bottom line is this place is no more than a overpriced car wash. read more

Had my doubts before when they detailed my wife's car; a so-so result. Now they've confirmed themselves as unreliable. I asked for an interior-only cleaning and showed the female owner the soiled back bench and mentioned that the driver's seat is ,of course, the dirtiest(the car is 15 years old and has never been detailed). I rang 4 hours after leaving my car with them and was told I could come. It wasn't ready; the floor mats weren't replaced and the driver's seat was about as I left it. I complained and the female owner sprayed and wiped the driver's seat a bit and said that's as good as it gets. I drove home with a wet ass. read more

Kamal and crew did a great job on my car. It was a 2007 Honda Accord which was pretty well banged up as well as sporting a pretty gash across the top of the roof above the windshield due to an errant show shovel. Kamal didn't promise anything but when I pickled it up ...the scratch was almost gone... you had to know what to look at to see it!... I can't thank them enough... It is a bit of an effort to use their services given the location and lack of amenities, but I recommend their patronage... (Use the time to go to the coffee shop up on Connecticut ave. ) read more

I have visited this place about 5 times now for an interior/exterior thorough detail of my SUV. I am very nitpicky and particular about THOROUGH cleaning of my truck, so while I have had to point out some minor cleaning deficits to their team to fix or correct, they always do so and I leave completely satisfied. I am used to any place I go for a detail missing a few spots here and there, so it's not a major deal for me. They have never missed anything major or something that took more than 5 min total to correct. I am always very happy with their service and will continue to come back. read more

This firm is a true mom and pop enterprise. Correction - a husband and wife team who together with their employees run a busy shop. My first impressions were the management and employees were super friendly and interactive - always a good sign - at least for me. They did a nice job - not the best I have ever had - but when I pointed out a few small items that needed attention, they immediately jumped in it and did some touch up. What more could I ask for? I went away with a nice clean and shiny car - gone over with care from top to bottom and smelling and looking like it hadn't looked in a very long time. They even did the engine compartment and then treated the rubber and plastic parts with a protector spray. No doubt I will be back again for a repeat of this good experience. Kensington Auto Clean and Prep is currently selling a 2015 Tacoma on craigslist at their home around the corner from the detail shop. I spoke with the owner and prior to driving down from Pennsylvania was ensured it was a clean second owner Tacoma with no history of accidents . Per ad. "Hi, selling my Toyota Tacoma truck with low milage 52k, it's available to show in Kensington md. Clean title available. Title in my name. Plz call. Number is listed on top left." When I showed up Kensington Auto showed me the truck and after I personally inspected the vehicle the owner reaffirmed she had a clean carfax with no known issues and insisted her mechanic who works on her cars could inspect the truck to pass the state inspection. I confronted the owner about her shop refurbishing the Tacoma by verifying the carfax showing them the vehicle had been involved in a drivers, front, and passenger side collision with airbag deployment and that the vehicle was sold from a dealer in vermont who deals with totaled vehicles, she denied the allegations and relisted the truck for a thousand dollars less continuing to run the ad stating the tacoma has a clean title in good condition. Waste of 6 hours of my day, Please be advised this service is trying to pass off vehicles to unsuspected buyers with known issues that have been totaled. They did an excellent job for the money, on dealing my 2014 Corolla. Got rid of the spots on my drivers side seat. There was a little dirt on the the shiftier but nothing a little wiping can't cure. Even dropped me off at home and picked me up at the Kensington MARC station the next day. Not bad for $115 detail. read more

I passed this place a few times and figured I would give it a try. It was mostly the interior that needed detailing, but figured I would get the outside done as well while I had it there. Dropped it off in the morning and returned that evening to pick up. Looked fine until I saw it in the sunlight the next morning. The bottom of all four doors still had wax residue that I had to buff out myself, and the entire car had some pretty bad swirl marks and holograms in the paint. Upon closer inspection of the interior, there were still areas that hadn't even been cleaned, which I easily took care of with some cleaning wipes. Thought about taking it back, but wouldn't want them to do more damage than they already have. I'd rather pay for someone else to correct it. read more

This is almost a carbon copy of an earlier review - Did an okay job. I had to Annie back out to my car because they missed some obvious spots; old windshield sticker residue left on windshield, etc. I later noticed they missed cleaning the rear seat cup holders (that I purposely let open for them to clean). The wheels were half-a$$ed done (or missed) still had brake dust on all the wheels. Several exterior areas still had wax on the paint surfaced that was missed being buffed off. The dash was overly saturated with their version of "Armor All", plus the over spray was all over everything. The factory seams in the dash still has debris/dirt built up. I that I feel should have been noticed and cleaned. I would expect a better cleaning job when you pay a place that does auto detailing for a business. And I shouldn't have to point out the obvious dirt. Not to mention they removed the "Oil Change" sticker from the windshield too. Sub-par cleaning. I think I will look for another auto detailer in the future. read more

Did an okay job. I had to bring my car back after leaving it for 4 plus hours because they missed some obvious spots (cup holders, dash, door handles, buttons). Would expect for $135 for all of the obvious spots to be clean. I had to supervise while they cleaned the spots they missed when I went back for 30 minutes. Kamal was especially rude for being a manager, was yelling at ME and trying to rush me out when he was the one who did a sub par job. Won't be back. read more

This place is a total ripoff. They quoted me $150 to fix paint chips and $200 to valet the car. When my wife went to collect the car they added an additional $175 to fix the paint chips - double dipping in other words. Should have learnt my lesson from my other car which they valeted 6 months ago and did a sloppy job. Don't go there. read more

I am buying a new car and my old Honda (12 years) was definitely not looking good. It was beyond my skills to clean up. I went in and the owner asked me what I wanted done -- my list was inside, outside, engine, wheels, tires, full detail. They quoted me a price that was fair and I dropped it off. Next day I arrived and was very impressed. It really did look quite nice. They did what they said, were thorough and the result exceeded my expectations.
