This location is smaller than Savannah's, but it is just as cute inside with awesome employees. I asked for 3 different desserts: 1.) sticky milk buns: WHEW! A must-try! They are exactly what the name says. Sooo soft on the inside. Be careful bc you could eat this whole tray! 2.) blueberry cream cheese pastry: I love the texture of the pastry, nice and flaky. I wish the blueberry flavor was more prominent. I can see the blueberry, but can only taste the cream cheese. 3.) sweet potato pastry: I love how it's twisted and the black sesame seeds. It did take me a few bites to taste the sweet potato. It's a thin layer of like a mashed sweet potato inside the twists. I cannot see it but I can taste it. Not too sweet, which I love. This was a cute concept. These 3 desserts have me wanting more! And they were really affordable ($15 for all 3.) Quality, well-thought delectable treats. I will be making a trip soon to try more items!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had thumbprint cookies. I'm a huge fan of thumbprint cookies. There's something so nostalgic about them from when I was a child. What makes their thumbprint cookies the best is that they make them with caramel! Most bakeries don't sell thumbprint cookies and that ones that do, I've never seen them with caramel. These are little amazing nuggets of goodness! If their shortbread was a little more tender, it would probably be the #1 bakery item, I've ever had. The magic is in the caramel! It's so soft, gooey and perfectly sweet. It's the perfect pairing with the lightly sweetened shortbread. Since I had the cookies, I haven't stopped thinking about them. Came back into town for the day with my kids and I made sure this was our first stop! I will give you a heads up that the parking is a little funky, but nothing major. I'll be back soon!

My husband was next to me and we both looked at each other, but I ended up purchasing it anyways. The day I went to pick it up the lady was so rude to me. She proceeded to give me the cake in a little Willie thing, then went back around and said there's your cake you can take it no asking do you need help putting in a car nothing when I had seen them before offer help to other people will not be going from them no more my business with them is over!!!!!!!

They have limited seating and not many areas to plug in devices. I'd suggest coming with a full battery prior to diving into work. I had a lemon blueberry muffin and the Son of a Nutcracker drink. It paired well with the lemon blueberry muffin which was moist and delicious.

The space is a little narrow but gorgeous, with lots of nice natural-feeling light and an open and airy feel. You can see into the bakery and there's a nice display with all the available pastries. Cute merchandise adorns a few racks and shelves (it took a lot of self control to not buy a sweatshirt!). The way the line works conflicts a little bit with the entrance but it moved quickly enough to not be a problem. We got a tahini brownie, an espresso chocolate chip cookie, and a coconut and orange scone. Of course, they also sell beautiful breads and some small meal options like paninis and granola bowls. It all looked delightful. Service was very pleasant and patient. The lady in line ahead of me wasn't being very kind to the workers and speaking to them in a very demanding tone, and they handled her with grace and professionalism. They were also working cohesively as a team to ensure quick service. All our treats were yummy. My surprise favorite was probably the coconut and orange scone. The glaze on top was sweet and pleasantly crackle-y and the flavors were balanced and paired perfectly together. The espresso cookie was also balanced and super yummy; espresso and chocolate go together for a reason! The tahini brownie was fun to try and wildly gooey/rich as promised by the addition of the tahini, almost too much so for my preferences. It is SO fudgy, lol. Definitely very pleased with the whole experience. Give them a try if you're nearby!

That was me when I stumbled across 518 Bakes in its absolutely adorable little hutch on the side of the road. I wasn't even looking for sweets (okay, maybe subconsciously I always am), but this gem just called to me. One look at this charming setup and I knew I had to stop. It's like a tiny bakery fairy landed in upstate NY and decided to bless us all with gluten-free joy. Let's talk about the goodies: * The cinnamon rolls? I swear they transported me to a cozy winter cabin -- soft, swirled, sweet perfection. * The chocolate chip cookie is exactly what it should be -- warm, gooey, nostalgic, and gone in 30 seconds. * And ohhh the Bavarian cream lemon meringue pie... tart, creamy, and basically a vacation in a bite. * The donuts are the kind of thing that make you pull over again the next day. Light, flavorful, and full of actual joy. Everything is gluten-free (and some grain-free too!) but you'd never know it. You're not eating "around" a dietary restriction -- you're just eating something amazing. That's the magic of 518 Bakes. It's local. It's creative. It's full of heart. And honestly?
