Stopped here for brunch when staying in the area for a bite and some coffee at the bar. It was a great meal! I went with the vanilla-cinnamon french toast, which was excellent. It came topped with warm spiced peaches and powdered sugar with a side of maple syrup. For a bit of saltiness I ordered a side of the Broadbent bacon. So good! For a bev I landed on one of their seasonal specials, the Flannel Latte, made with vanilla honey and cinnamon. My husband got an omelet with a side of toast and also enjoyed it. I would give this place a 3.5 -nothing is particularly "bad,"but it was too crowded to fully enjoy. The staff was friendly and did their best to keep the line moving, especially given how busy it was. The inside has ample seating for food but very minimal for coffee which made it tough to stand in line to order and then wait along with eberyone else. Theres about only 3-4 seats so people were semi tripping over one another to grab seats. I ordered the almond delight winter special which tasted exactly like an almond joy and how I hoped it would. It wasnt overtly sweet and still had a mocha focus to it with a hint of almond and coconut making it a very nice blend. Outside theres some more seating so I was able to take advantage of it and actually enjoy my coffee (only downside is when its freezing like it was that day). Overall I can see why this place is so popular and well recommended by locals. My personal downside was that when I go to a coffee shop I also enjoy the experience of being able to sit and have a slow moment. I love Frothy and my food and coffee were delicious. I usually never have any issues with the food or drinks here. I will say the service was an odd experience today. I dined in on my own and the host sat me but then came back to take my order. Normally that's not a big deal, however this time it felt more like I was being rushed to order even though the server who took my drink order was okay with giving me some time to decide. He did this with a few tables near me so it was something I noticed. It was lunch time but this location wasn't as busy as I thought when I went in and was seated. We stopped here for breakfast before being tourists and diving into Broadway. It was the perfect start to our morning! First of all tremendous service. Special shout out to Andy. He went above and beyond to ensure we were having a good experience, enjoyed our food, and were always taken care of. We had their lattes. One of us had the log cabin and the other one had the chai but all of it was tasty. The biscuits and gravy was super flavorful and filling so get that if you want a bigger plate. The eggs bacon and cheese bagel was perfect for a not too heavy breakfast but it was tasty! All in all a lovely place with lovely service and I'd highly recommend! The dish was actually somewhat cool, which was odd. The sausage/chorizo gravy had a nice look and texture, but was the main thing that was cool - it should never be cool! Very rude service. I tried to cancel my order. Over the phone and they said you have to contact toast in order to get a refund, but I'll cancel on my end. This two story brunch spot is tucked away downtown and it is so adorable. Downstairs were mostly tables for four or more and there were counters/bar top to sit at. I went and sat upstairs and it was like a loft vibe. It was super cute and I got to look outside. It was a rainy day, so it was peaceful. I got the Havana latte with almond milk. It was delicious and a hint of sweetness to it. The sandwich itself was simple yet filling. Eggs can make or break a simple breakfast sandwich and I definitely enjoyed this one. Frothy Monkey is a Nashville staple, famous for quality coffee. I've been here on several occasions and enjoyed the coffee, even considered buying their flavored coffee syrup merch as gifts. Though this location is the most convenient to where I've lived, the hours are not always (whereas other locations are open for dinner and into the evening). Unfortunately, the ambience here hasn't felt warm or welcoming on my recent visits, either. The baristas were kind and talented, but the atmosphere beyond the counter felt cold. I specifically chose to come here with my boyfriend one winter weekend, looking to sit and relax over two lattes, only to essentially get yelled at when waiting near the counter for our drinks (not knowing that was an issue, as others had done so) and then again when starting to head upstairs, not knowing it was closed. Discouraged, we took our drinks to-go; although the restaurant wasn't very busy, it did not feel like there was anywhere we could sit and enjoy our drinks. On my first visit here, years ago, I remember sitting in the cozy coffee shop environment with my mom, enjoying our hot beverages. These later experiences were hopefully a fluke, but I'm wary to come here for anything more than takeout, lately. read more

It's a short walk from our place to downtown. We started with the biscuits, and the combination of jam and butter was perfect. We tried Lauren's salad, and the dressing and walnuts were wonderful. Frothy Monkey is another one of those "must try" spots in Nashville. I stopped in today while downtown running some errands (Full disclosure: I've never been to this location) When I walked in no one greeted me or acknowledged me walking in. Finally placed my order with the barista who was very friendly and helpful. I ended up ordering the log cabin latte (barista recommended). I wasn't told where to wait so I stood by the side of the counter waiting for my drink. I saw one come out, and no name was announced, so I almost took the order. When they told me it was someone else's, I apologized and took a step back. From there, the manager asked me to please step away from the counter and wait along the wall kind of rudely. I waited by the wall until my name was called and grabbed my coffee. I went to head up the staircase to find a quiet place to sit since the downstairs was pretty busy and the only available seating was for dining guests. As I got halfway up the stairs, the manager told me that the upstairs was closed and there was a reason the lights were turned off. To be honest, it was bright enough outside that I didn't even notice the lights were off. I then apologized and walked out. Service wise I didn't appreciate how everything was handled if I'm being honest. It wasn't the worst experience ever but it was no where near the best. The latte was good overall and if I'm in the area again, I'd probably stop back for a drink to go; but honestly, with so many other coffee shops around I feel like I could've gotten a better experience somewhere else. read more

We arrived after what seemed like a morning rush. The service was wonderful and everyone was really attentive and kind. Everyone was really happy with their meals but the smash burger specifically was absolutely incredible. The meat was tasty, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Love this farm to table restaurant in downtown Nashville! The rustic atmosphere, the coffee and food is delicious! I had the turtle latte which was delicious, the perfect sweetness. Also enjoyed the farm breakfast, the sausage was the only disappointment as it was dry and hard, the eggs were cooked good, the Gouda grits are flavorful, the strawberry preserves were out of this world, as well as the homemade Hoff's Wake Up Call hot sauce! I really wanted to like this spot, but my experience was a real disappointment. I ordered the quinoa and black bean burger, and it completely lacked flavor. Just because it's vegetarian doesn't mean it should be bland--this one had no seasoning at all. I've had plenty of house-made veggie burgers at other restaurants that were absolutely superb, but here it felt like they relied entirely on the vegan cheese for flavor. Unfortunately, the cheese itself had a neutral taste, so everything fell flat. Honestly, I tasted more bun than burger. The side salad didn't help either--it was just a standard spring mix with a typical balsamic vinaigrette, nothing memorable. To make matters worse, there wasn't even salt or pepper on the tables; you had to ask for it, which tells me other diners also found the food under-seasoned. The only positive thing I can say is that the customer service was great--the staff were attentive and kind. Unfortunately, the food itself was bland and uninspired.
