We loved our breakfast at Milk and Honey! I've read this place can get very busy and have lengthy waits! Thankfully when we stopped in on a recent weekday morning there was no wait and we were seated in the most perfect spot right away! We chose an outdoor table! The outdoor patio is so nice, even in the Nashville summer heat!! We got there before it was super hot out and the patio kept us super comfortable the whole time!! :) We had a really great waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to help us make the best decisions for what we were craving!! We started with a couple of drip coffees that came out in adorable cups, on saucers, with spoons, very lovely appearance! Quite delicious! We ordered a fried chicken biscuit sandwich that was served with their home fries and a side of country gravy. This was delicious! I HIGHLY recommend trying their table hot sauce! We loved it so much we bought a bottle to take home!! :) We also ordered the Chicken and waffles. This dish is also served with home fries and a then a side of syrup. This meal was also fantastic!! It was busy when we got here on a Sunday but it went pretty fast. We were asked about apps and settled on just getting that. (We had other dinner plans in a few hrs) we got the ricotta/honey bread, the honey butter biscuits and a Bloody Mary. Ricotta/honey: everyone raves about this but we thought it was boring. Ricotta was cold but the bread was warm. No flavor. Added salt and pepper just for something. It gives me ideas of something better to make some day do for that I'm Grateful. Anyways the staff is really helpful. As soon as you're seated you're greeted and given the 411 on the place being a scratch kitchen, everything made in house and this is important because it contributes to the amazing quality control. But I digress. They also have merchandise and a pastry kitchen for you to grab and go coffee if you don't have time to enjoy the delicious food at a table. Now you cannot really go wrong here. We started off with the ricotta and honey on sourdough...amazing. And that honey? I wanted to take one home so bad but I did not want to check in my bag for it so I'll have to come by again. I could eat this pairing for days. So good. We stuck to the basics, biscuits with our cravings (chicken on mine, and bacon + egg + cheese on my friends) and a curry. Left leaving stuffed. I recently visited Nashville to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday. Based on the excellent reviews we had heard, Milk & Honey was high on our list of places to try. Located in the Gulch, it was just a short Uber ride from our downtown area hotel. Before we were even seated we were already enchanted with the adorable 'cow bee' t-shirt. Get it? Milk and honey? Cute huh? Our table of 7 women ordered a variety of brunch sandwiches and biscuits. While everyone enjoyed their meals, I can only give specifics on what I ordered. I had the Mr. Croissant with home fries, and because I wanted to try the biscuits, I also added a biscuit with honey and butter to my order. The croissant and biscuit were great. Next time, I'd give a miss to the included home fries and opt for the fruit instead. My vanilla bean latte was very good and my friend loved her mocha. To celebrate the Birthday Girl, we ordered two bottles of champagne and two flights of juices to make mimosas. We all took homemade strawberry pop tarts to go. When ranking our meals, this place came in dead last. The service was great -- our serve was very nice and attentive. All of the food was basic and mediocre. The biscuits were very dry. The bacon was overcooked (and I like crispy bacon). The Bloody Mary was only ok. I ordered a pineapple mimosa, and it was so fizzy that it was hard to drink. We didn't get coffee, so maybe we missed out on that. We sat outside on the heated patio, which was pleasant. Inside was nicely decorated, but very loud. Ordered a burnt sugar latte, it was pretty good. after consulting with the bartender/server I went with the Hot Mess, a biscuit sandwich with hot pepper jam, bacon, avocado, pickled onion, chipotle crema, sunny egg, and cilantro. Normally has pepper jack cheese but I asked for it without. It came with crispy potatoes. It was delicious. The biscuit was flaky and soft; the chipotle crema was smoky and went well with all the other ingredients. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and were great with the house made honey hot sauce. I ordered a scone to go and it was super good, great crumb and perfect texture. I revisited Milk & Honey after my last visit being 2+ years ago. Overall our server was great and nice, I was happy with her service. But on the other hand, I went on a Saturday morning around 9:00am and waited roughly 35-45 minutes for a party of 2. When it came to the food, I would say it was alright for the most part. The biscuits that were served with our plates we ordered were dry and crumbly. (I was not a fan). On top of the toasts that we had, those were dry/hard and overly toasted. It wasn't the experience I was expecting based off my initial visited. In general I didn't see much "value" with the time and money spent this 2nd time around. My personal rating: 3/5 read more

Walked to the Gulch my last morning in town and decided to grab a seat at the bar to enjoy a hot latte and chicken biscuit. Waitress recommended sauce on side and so glad I did, it was HOT! Their bottle hot sauce was delicious however and the perfect heat level. Biscuit was flaky and delicious and egg was cooked perfectly. The milk & honey latte was so good, amazing flavor of honey. Staff was all kind and very efficient (toast system was down and they had to write everything down to ring in and feed back to kitchen). She raved about how good the juice tasted. Fresh and a perfect start. Decided to try the strawberry pop tart and was not expecting it to be so incredibly delicious. Flaky crust and the filling, just perfect treat to start. Next the Big Kid Breakfast which is my go to breakfast and I am still a kid at heart. What really stands out about Milk & Honey to me is their coffee. My husband and I are a little picky when it comes to our morning java, so we've always struggled to find restaurants that get it just right. Let me tell you, Milk & Honey is that restaurant. While we were enduring our two hours wait, we both ordered iced vanilla bean lattes. They were the perfect mix of sweet and roasted coffee flavor. Then, while we were eating, I ordered an iced burnt sugar latte and that was perfection as well! I love that you're able to order from their coffee bar without actually eating. It's a great set up when you're waiting for a table also. If this was local to me, it would be my coffee stop for sure! My brother and I just got the basic breakfasts. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. He had the classic bacon and eggs. My husband, however, decided to get the Hodgepodge Hash and he absolutely loved it. We wanted to try the pork confit poutine, but they were sold out of pork from the crowds, so we'll have to come back another day to try it! We waited entirely too long for this restaurant on Valentine's Day. That's totally our bad as out of town tourists who didn't consider what day of the week it was along with being a holiday. Anyway, I say that to say, the staff was still incredible. They HAD to be overwhelmed. The place was packed! But everyone stayed incredibly kind and friendly and took great care of us. We were seated and got the best service from our waiter Anthony! For drinks, we opted for the bottle of champagne. It comes with 3 juices! Writing this in honor of aunt Becky because she is obsessed with this place and comes here every day for the salted caramel lattes she's still with us she just lives in Miami and I don't get to see her enough!! We love milk and honey so much. I'm fortunate enough to live rappelling distance from milk and honey, so on the weekends if I want to come here I roll out of bed in my Jammie's and put my name in. Then I go back home and to bed again for like an hour. Then I shower and get ready and usually by that time my table is ready. I've got it down to a science now, timing wise. Great food. We got the ricotta toast, lattes, a chicken Caesar salad because I eat weird and decided that was what I wanted for brekky, and an egg dish that I can't remember the name of but was excellent. All came out quickly and were very excellent. The ricotta toast was my personal favorite, but I knew that going into it as my best friend is Italian and has influenced a lot of my culinary preferences. They also do brekky drinks and shots but honestly I've never had one. They look really yummy and cute though. This is also one of the most agreeable priced breakfast restaurants in the area. I'm often impressed that with the quality of food and prompt service, they could definitely charge at least 20% more and no one would say anything. It's great food, service, and affordable. Inside, the atmosphere was comfortable and easy to talk in, not overly loud at all. I ordered the turkey and brie sandwich and it was so yummy. The hot honey sauce is magic, I wanted to put it on everything. I also had a lavender honey latte, which was delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. I do think a larger space or some type of reserved seating could help prevent the front entrance from feeling so crowded. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Nash. We didn't have reservations, but walked in as a party of two and were seated outdoors on the patio under their heated lamps. The service was incredible. I'm gluten-free and well there was a few options, I accidentally chose a dish that had sausage which I am allergic to. I asked the server if they could remake it without the meat and offered to pay for it since it was my mistake. They were extremely accommodating and handled it so kindly! The restaurant manager even came by to check if any other modification were needed. The overall experience was fantastic, I felt embarrassed, but they made everything so easy and sweet. Our server was really friendly but the service was a bit slow for a Sunday afternoon, likely due to the popularity of this place. We got the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit with French Fries, Hot Mess Biscuit, and Mimosa Bottle. The Mimosa Bottle was a good steal as you get a whole champagne bottle along with three choices of juice. We chose Strawberry Orange, Ruby Red Grapefruit, and Pineapple as our juices. I think Strawberry Orange tasted the best with the champagne. We definitely felt tipsy after finishing the bottle. The Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit was pretty good but the biscuit was a bit too flaky for me. Everything fell apart when I tried to take a bite. My boyfriend liked the Hot Mess Biscuit and it was definitely a hot mess trying to eat it. Overall, I think that this place is overrated, especially with the crazy wait times on the weekends.
