I was visiting the area for a week and came across this place when searching maps for a coffee spot nearby. What a lovely gem! It's in a place I wouldn't expect, but the whole interior just transforms. I visited here daily and enjoyed their specialty coffees. I got the Matcha Cloud and Americano Cloud (made with coconut water). Absolutely delicious on a hot summer morning - highly recommend both! The staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient, no notes. I'M OBSESSED!!! Try every single pastry. It is SOOOO GOOD. The service was great and I got my food pretty quickly. It's located in a random part of town but well worth the drive. My only complaint is upstairs there are no windows since you are more in a warehouse and I do wish it was a bit brighter in there. The staff was very stressed out and chaotic, which was our first impression when we walked in on a Friday morning. One of the poor ladies practically steamrolled me and my son as she sprinted back and forth from the counter to the door to hand menus to folks as they walked in. I've been to this location a few times. Once on a weekday morning around 7am - good place to have a work meeting if it's early, it wasn't too crowded. I've been on the weekend for lunch - definitely still crowded but still not too bad. Today (Thurs) I stopped in around 10 and picked up an order I placed online. It was packed, the line was out the door. Super grateful for the online order ahead option. I ran in, grabbed my latte and sandwich and left. There's plenty of parking out front and a decent amount of seating right outside the restaurant & inside both upstairs and down. As I said, it stays busy but the service is reasonable - not too fast, not too slow. The ambiance is super cute, clean and just an overall good vibe. The coffee is good - I've only tried the lattes and it's priced about the same as other shops. The food is very good - I've had a few different sandwiches (very good), the kale salad (average), the chocolate chip cookie (amazing). I would say the food is priced on the expensive side. The sandwich I got today was $22. They have a fridge of items you can grab right when you walk in - this ideally could be fast except you may have to wait in the long line. The thing I do appreciate from the fridge is that they sell a tub of cookie dough. I bought this to make a cookie skillet at home for a birthday which was fantastic. read more

The quality of their pastries and drinks are consistently good and the space itself has such a calm, elevated ambiance that makes you want to slow down and stay for a while. My go to order is the herbs de Provence latte- the syrup is beautifully balanced with floral and slightly savory notes or the matcha cloud drink. The breakfast sandwich on a croissant and with caramelized onions is the perfect breakfast/brunch item. My new favorite bakery in Nashville! Perennial Bakery is wonderful. I love that they have a beautiful selection of freshly baked sweet and savory goods. And everything is reasonably priced. I ordered the bacon and cheese stuffed baguette, because I always lean savory. The delightful staff offered to warm it for me, letting me know it was much better warmed. So, of course I said yes! Well, my baguette was perfectly warmed in the oven. My baguette never came close to a microwave, and it came out perfect! The bread was warm and the cheese was bubbly. It was delicious and filling. The bakery itself is beautiful and clean, with windows to the kitchen and a large seating area upstairs. When you walk into the bakery, there is a case of fresh food on your left with a case of frozen food next to it. Toasts and pastries are in the glass case, and the breads and baguettes are directly behind the case. If you enjoy savory treats, I strongly suggest you ask what the "Stuffed Baguette of the Day" is. Then, order it and ask them to warm it for you. Yum! Their espresso machine is impressive. Next time I'll try a Cortado. read more

I loved walking in to be greeted by a team of bakers busily rolling and cutting dough. All the European feels came upon me!!! I purchased the Frozen cinnamon rolls to go, as my friend said there are none better, anywhere. I will be bringing them as a Christmas Eve hostess gift to my brother's house, so he can leave them out overnight and bake them fresh on Christmas Day. I also had one of their two salads of the day and I literally rejoiced!!! Amazing. A pearled couscous like base with chopped pecans, lemon peel, cranberries, red onion, salad greens and butternut squash. The flavors combined so perfectly that I smiled at my first bite! New bakery in the Berry hill area with a lot of customers lined up to get European themed foods/drinks. We had a collection of pastries all of which were fantastic. The Kough amann was one of the largest and heaviest pastries I've had as it was stuffed with creme brulee cream. Definitely similar tasting to the Italian/Spanish croissants we've had in Europe. Cappuccino also was great. Everything is pricy so just be ready to open up your wallet. Service was good and the interior was really nicely laid out. We will be back to try more soon! read more

The quality of the bakery and cafe is top tier!! My only gripe is how EXPENSIVE everything is now when pastries and coffee were made to be daily staples for a quick snack and drink, now costs you premiere prices for something that doesn't seem sustainable for a daily run. $21 for a tuna salad? $19 for a kale salad? $8 for a vietnamese latte? Mind you, it's a quad shot so it has extra espresso but there isn't a cheaper option? Great staff, friend and knowledgeable. Also the seasonal flavors of the bakery items are always spot on and consistent. Will come here but everytime I come, you have to know you're spending some money here. The flake was there, but it was a bit dry for my taste and needed a bit more butter. I honestly do like the croissant from other French bakery near downtown better. I don't know if I've ever had a croissant as good as Perenn's, even in France!! The breakfast sandwich is easily the #1 must try item on the menu. It's really nice that you can watch them baking the crossiants while you wait in line to order. Pricing per pastry is expensive compared to other pastry shops in the area, but it makes sense given they do mill their own flour (which is also sold in store). The iced vanilla latte has become one of my favorite lattes in Nashville, it's real vanilla that they use, no fake syrups. This location doesn't do full sit down service, so it feels like a coffee shop compared to the Franklin location. Get there early before things sell out if there's something specific you want to try, the lines are still long as it hasn't been open for long. read more

Stopped in on a slow Tuesday afternoon to avoid the lines. Best baguette I've had since Paris. The kougin Amman was also top notch. If they have the bacon and cheese stuffed mini baguettes with everything bagel seasoning available when you go, get two; they are that good. They only do poached and souffle, and the souffle was perfect with the potatoes, definitely cooked. The cream on the dish was a bit heavy, but what you would expect from bakery style food. The matcha latte was good, standard. Overall, solid dining experience, just a wee bit on the pricey side for what you're getting. I do like that they are not a chain and run by actual people, so I appreciate that it's a hard and expensive world out there, and would go back again. P.S. The woman in front of me was stocking up on at least 6 containers of their refridgerated cookie dough, so maybe that's one of the highlights? Visited on a Sunday morning and it was packed. Coffee was fine, but the tea was a mess - they clearly don't know how to serve it. Staff felt awkward and a bit scoffing which was odd. The ham and cheese croissant was good. The Brie and fig grilled cheese, however, was extremely greasy. The ham and Parmesan baguette was not edible - it was so tough that in Europe it would be treated as bird feed, not given to people. Overall, quite disappointed. Located off Armory Drive exit, this cute little bakery is such a vibe on a Saturday with close friends. Let me tell you how to navigate the situation... We arrived promptly at 9:30am to have a hostess handout menus that we can peruse while waiting "to get in the door". When let in, you stand in line to put in your order which you've already decided upon while waiting. It became very clear that it's a "first come first serve" with seating and it gets dicey. There is a gorgeous upstairs loft with 8 tables and numerous chairs. The benefit to this is so you can view the bustling fully operating bakery below. It's a French bistro format of seating, so be aware you will be overheard and you will overhear interesting conversations. We lucked out and shared a massive table with two other parties in a cozy corner. The overall effect was a moody, classic space with warm wooden beams and beautiful windows. I recommend finding a table in the loft if you can. The service was effective without being overwhelming, and we never felt hurried or rushed which is exactly why this bakery is so special. Our food choices were a bevy of different croissants from savory to sweet, but the salted caramel apple croissant was the ultimate winner. Ok the quality is really good. The pastries are fresh. It's cool to watch the bakers at work but what the heck...I felt like I was literally taken advantage of with the prices. My favorite pastries that we tried were the raspberry and cheese danish and the classic croissant. The baguette was also classic and delicious. The almond croissant wasn't my fav but $8.50...for a croissant?! Not even with the best quality ingredients does that price make sense! The icing on the cinnamon roll croissant had a strange taste to me but that's just preference. The cloud matcha was delicious but also $8.75!! The cold brew was muddy and over brewed.
